The soft mutter of voices...
I rubbed my hands quietly as I wondered why the meeting did not begin earlier this evening.
"Ahem!"A loud cough echoed in the hall and my heart leaped for joy. Finally...
"This meeting is for everyone. We called for it because of the urgent need to have a king. We all need a leader, a true king. The one with a cold and brutal heart, one who led before and will lead again" The elder, Elder Scrolls uttered loudly as the other vampires chorused in jubilation.
"Yes!"
His thin, dried lips widened with a smile and he continued.
"I and the council thought about this and the one to be awakened as our next king is Amy!" He continued, and the noise of jubilation died down.
"Why Amy? Other vampires are capable of ruling over our troops" Yaju spoke. His voice grates me. How I wish we were not of the same clan
"My father served for over a hundred decades. He deserves this title and as his first daughter and only child, I volunteer to awaken him from his coffin," I spoke with confidence and murmurs filled the hall.
The councils whispered to each other and Elder Scrolls glared at my right side. I looked there also and I saw Eric, he wore a smirk on his face as a wicked smile appeared on his face.
"I'm also against Amy being our king" Eric glared at me as I huffed. He and his father, Yaju have always been against me after the incident that occurred ten years ago.
"This is total disrespect! How dare you stand against the council's decision!" Elder Scrolls declared with a loud, roaring voice and everyone bowed. This is a form of respect given to the councils and elders because they are next to the king and they also appoint the next king after their bloody ritual. Who wouldn't want to rule the vampires and have everyone under their feet? Even the brats among us respect them.
After a deep sigh, Elder Scrolls continued his speech, this time, his voice became calm and friendly. "Amy will be awakened as per the council's decision. No one is allowed to object or say anything about that."
I smiled at the thought of being respected by the others and kicking Eric's butt out of his job.
"The custom to let the first child wake the father, Samantha will awaken her father," My heart rejoiced and I glimpsed at Eric and Yaju's disappointed face.
"Samantha is the first child. Yeah, she is. But our female vampires have proven to be more powerful, but she.....she has proven to be useless and powerless." I was about to utter a word and a piece of my mind at Eric's statement but Arci stopped me. Arci let go of my hand and I lowered my fist in patience.
"What if she fails in awakening her father? She is not even one of us. She is a weakling just like the humans. I would wish to perform the duty as Lord Amy's right hand to awaken Lord Amy." Eric said as he walked back to his position
I clenched my fist. If not for the councils, I would have chanted a spell to lock him up in another world entirely.
Murmurs filled the hall as I wondered who they would support, me or that white, biting, and sucking creature named Eric. I so wish to awake my father so that I can tell him how long I suffered with his right-hand man.
The councils whispered to the elder and the hall became silent.
No! I can't trust him with my father's coffin. What if he is helping the other vampires that are against my father? No, I can't risk the opportunity to see my father again after ten years of losing him to a coffin and my mother being cremated.
"Eric, we can't break the rules and customs because of capabilities.." The elder spoke as I smirked at Eric, even though I was being insulted. He clenched his fist as he opened his mouth to speak.
"No more statement, Eric. Samantha will awaken her father" Elder Scrolls uttered as my heart rejoiced again. It must have felt like a slap on Eric's face. More than what he thinks is to come. I will make sure I end his life myself.
"Eric, you can accompany Samantha with your men, that way, you are also doing your duty." A vampire among the council said as an evil smile crept on Eric's face.
"It will be an honor, my Lord." He curtsied.
"You may all return to your domains." Elder Scrolls stated and everyone left the hall-including I and Arci. Arci was my only support and friend, though, she is Yaju's daughter, Eric's younger sister. She aged hundred years last year and I am so excited that I have her by my side
"I feel like punching his face so hard that no one would want to look at his face," Arci said as she punched the wall, making it break and fall apart
Fortunately, her vampire features are visible unlike me.
I have no sharp canine, fast movement, or even a strong body. The only feature in me is that of my mother, a sorceress after the incident that happened ten years ago. "Samantha?" Arci waved at my face and I pushed my thoughts aside.
"What?" I asked unaware of what happened as I realized that we had reached the gate. It was a little dark outside and I realized that it was night already.
"Were you even listening to what I have been saying?"
"Yes." I lied to not make her worry.
Something bumped into me quickly. I turned back to see what bumped into me and I sighted two vampires holding a man stranded in chains, his face and body looked dirty and he was pushed into the hall hurriedly.
"Rain will fall, blood will rush!! Rain will fall blood will rush!!" The strange man kept yelling.
"How could you bump into my friend that way?" Arci yelled as I ignored what happened.
"Ignore them," I replied. It's normal to see someone like him chained into the council's hall. Well, demons and vampires have been rivals since their development.
I strode out and I sighted Eric by the gate.
"Here we go again," Arci whispered as she rolled her eyes.
Eric glared at me and then at Arci.
"Arci, go into the car right now." He ordered and Arci held my hand.
"I am going to stay at Samantha's house," Arci replied and I grinned
"Can't you let her stay at my house?" I queried with a fake smile drawn on my face.
"No, I won't. So advise her to get into my car."
"Arci, you should listen to your elder brother," I advised and she frowned.
"He is not my brother. He is just that dirty piece of shit that bullies you." Arci replied as I faced her.
"But I think you should go with him. You are safer with him since I am not as strong as he is." I replied and she embraced me with a peck on my cheek.
"You are not weak, Eric is just a jerk," she replied as Eric clapped. I sighted Arci's father from far away and I nudged her elbow. She turned back and also sighted her father.
"We will talk later," she said hurriedly as I smiled at her. Her family hates me, especially her father because of his father's kingship. Arci entered the car quickly and faced back. I waved at her and she waved back.
"Whatever spell you used, I will break all of it," Eric smirked. He walked into the car as the car sped away. I drove home and I met my magic instructor, Charles.
Charles is a sorcerer and he has been my magic instructor since I was young.
"Can we take a day off training?" His voice cracked and I was shocked
"Is anything wrong? Seriously, you never take a day off, what happened today?"
"The councils need me because of the demon they caught at the river bank. He is a stubborn one, he is also the brother of the demon king" He replied as his cold eyes glanced at me
"I will be back sooner or later," I noticed the small bag he held and I became worried
"Later? What do you mean by later?" I asked and he walked away, ignoring my questions.
Well, it's good we took a day off. No training or nagging, I will spend the rest of my day sleeping....
~~I felt a beam of light directed at my face. I jolted from sleep immediately. I opened my eyes widely and I saw a pair of red-colored eyes, a few inches from my face. The eyes blinked at my face as I noticed the sharp fangs that were exposed.
I rolled away from my position as my heart raced. I balanced my body as I was prepared for karate.
I examined the invader that I assumed was in my room. Eric held a torchlight and he tilted his head. I threw a pillow at him and he was quick to hold it.
"Why are you here?!"
"I came here to slaughter you and to make sure that there is no trace of your existence..."

"I came here to slaughter you and to make sure that there is no trace of your existence left" Eric responded as he looked at me with an evil leer.
I fixed my gaze on him as I paid attention to what he will do next with my hands and feet in karate position.
"Sadly, I won't be able to do that because I would be a suspect if you went missing," Eric shrieked in laughter.
"I see, do you have any information about my father's coffin yet? You must find his coffin since you are just a mere accompany.."I replied boastfully and his laughter ceased. He raised his eyebrows and I walked proudly toward him
"You should be terrified because you don't know what I'm capable of after I awaken my ruthless father"
"I can never be terrified of a weakling like you" he replied with a sneer in his voice.
"Since you are so determined to fulfilling your duty, let's focus on getting my father's coffin," I quipped with a smirk at the corner of my lips.
Eric brought out a map that contained the location of different packs and vampire's territory.
"The Moon pack was divided into different packs after the incident that occurred ten years ago. The second to the strongest pack of Moon pack is still protecting Lord Amy's coffin against rogues or any creature," Eric confirmed. He opened a briefcase and I inspected what was inside the briefcase. There were different pistols with an installed tranquilizer in the briefcase.
"What will these be used for?" I queried
"To harm, destroy and eliminate,"
"Why do we need these things when your men are supposed to be strong and reliable for missions like this?"
"Do you think it's that easy to go to a pack with a strict and arrogant alpha and yet come back home with a complete body?" Eric replied harshly
"Yeah, I think that it should be easy" I replied and he slammed his fist on the table with his flushed face glaring at me.
"If it's easy, then awake your father yourself!" He sneered and I threw a slap to his face.
"Don't you ever yell at me! I'm the boss here!" I dictated and the door barged open.
A man walked in. He had brown eyes and an ash brown hair"Eric, the car is ready," the man uttered as he glanced at me
"Wow, you look pretty good in this outfit," he complimented and I blushed. "Thank you"
The briefcase was thrown at the brown-eyed man.
"Wendy, take it to the car" Eric uttered and Wendy winked at me. I blushed again. Wendy strode out of the room and Eric faced me
"Stop flirting with my best friend, you don't worth his time," Eric said to me.
"I wasn't flirting" I replied. I rolled the map as I walked out of the room. Eric was not this annoying ten years ago. The incidents that happened back then made him suddenly turn against me.
I got into the car and a pistol fell on the seat next to me.
"I don't need it," I boasted and I threw the pistol at Eric
"If you insist" Eric shrugged. The car halted and I got out of the car as the other men did.
Beside the car was a place filled with bushes.
"Why does the coffin have to be in a werewolf pack?" Wendy spoke as he shrank back
"It is not in the werewolf pack, it is near the pack" Eric replied
"Alright, who will go there first?" Wendy asked as I glanced at his trembling hands.
"Is this your first time?" I asked and he nods
"More like the first and last" Eric spoke and the other men laughed. I glared at them and they stopped laughing.
"It is not funny. Don't try to create a hole of fear in him because you are also scared" I said with my arms folded. Eric smirked as he faced me
"Have you ever seen a vampire pee on himself? Well, today will be so fun because we will see one right now," Eric chuckled. He and his men walked into the dark forest. I approached Wendy, giving him a reassuring smile
"I am sure that it's not as terrible as Eric says it is. He is just being a bully because you are inferior, right?" I comforted and he smiled.
"Yes, I'm an inferior. I was sent to join Eric's men today"
"Alright, let's get the coffin dug out" I encouraged him and I checked the map before striding to the place located where my father's coffin was buried. The wet leaves touching my skin were evidence that the location we were in was more like a forest. I spotted the men dogging already. I stood as I watch them dig slowly.
"Let's be snappy. The earlier we dig out the coffin, the better for us" I commanded and the men dug faster.
"Haha, there is nothing to be frightened about" Wendy boasted as he clasped his arms behind his body
"Don't get too happy. It's not scary because we have not reached the pack yet. The pack is just four feet away from here" Eric uttered as he faced Wendy. I thought he said they are best friends. Why does he act bossy toward Wendy? Is it because he is Wendy's superior?
"This means that there is nothing to worry about and that someone is wrong about his inferior peeing" I ridiculed Eric mockingly.
"There will be something to worry about when someone moves past that boundary" Eric confronted and he pointed his finger at the two trees with ropes tied to each other. I checked the map and realized that the trees indicate the boundary. After the two trees are the Blue Moon pack.
"No one should move past that boundary unless they are willing to be dried by the sun," I said with more confidence as my voice outraged his.
"Samantha, let's focus on the coffin" Wendy cooed and I smiled at the view of the coffin brought out of the ground.
I walked towards the coffin as I caressed it
"Finally, you will be back as my father and a king," I muttered.
Wendy handed a short knife to me and I used it to pierce my palm. With blood slowly dripping from my palm, I placed my palm on the hole that was designed on the coffin.
I heard a loud growl that sounded more like a werewolf howl that I haven't heard for ten years now. But why would they howl when we didn't pass the boundary? I gasped as I remembered Eric's statement to make Wendy scared. I turned back and sighted Eric moving his leg away from the boundary
"Who will pee now?" Eric smirked as fear jolted in me and the loud noise of heavy hops, howls, and roars echoed. Oh no, they are here!
Samantha
"I hate you" I gnashed and approached Eric holding unto his collar.
"Samantha, not now. We should leave" Wendy said and I let go of Eric's collar
"The coffin is a priority, you all should take it away from here" I ordered and the men obeyed. They ran at full speed and I sighted them far away.
I glared at the boundary and noticed that both Eric and Wendy were missing.
Betrayers...
I started to run with my exhausted legs to anywhere my legs took me. I'm doomed. I wished I learned teleportation magic tricks from Charles before he left.
A heavy thing landed on me and I fell to the ground with pain emerging from my legs and my body ached a lot.
Whatever landed on me fell to the other side. I gathered the little energy remaining in me to keep running. Running once again, my legs became extremely tired. I hid behind a tree to rest for a while as a musky scent hung in the air, which meant that someone was behind me. With a tremendous amount of fear in me, I could not face back. I stood still and prayed silently for a miracle to happen.
"Mate...." A masculine voice uttered and I yelled for help in fear. A strong grip on my hand leaves slapped my face, and echoes of wolves hopping were enough for me to feel very weak and dizzy. The leaves slap reduced and I felt a bit relaxed on the floor
"Samantha" A voice called out and I glared at the owner of the voice, I could only see a pair of red, cute eyes
"Wendy? You came?" I mumbled
"You will be fine, I promise" Wendy spoke as he lifted me and carried me in his arms.
~~~
A bright light shone on my face. I rubbed my eyes and watched the door open slightly and slowly. I rubbed my eyes and I realized that I was in my room already.
"I'm awake," I said and the door barged open. Arci sprinted to my bed and touched my forehead
"How do you feel now?" She asked
"Better, is Wendy alright?"
"Yes, I heard that he saved you from a wolf. You both were lucky enough to get out of there" Arci replied and I got down from the bed.
"What about my father?" I asked with worries beaming in me
"Follow me" Arci spoke and I did. We entered another room. The door opened widely. I sighted father on the bed, he looked so thin and dried up like there was no blood in him. I jumped on the bed and hugged him
"I missed you so much, dad" I sniffled and glanced at his skinny, thin face
"I missed you too" he muttered weakly as his hand slowly embrace me. I realized that he had not recovered fully, blood tubes were still attached to his body and his lips were unable to move quickly as they always do before
"Recover soon, dad" I mumbled and kissed his hand
"I will," he replied weakly and I left the room. I did not want to bother or disturb his recovery so I went back to my room. I saw Wendy at the door
"Arci told me that you were awake. I came to visit you" Wendy spoke sweetly and I grinned
"I am alright now. Thank you for yesterday." I said and he smiled
"You are welcome," he spoke. I was about to enter the room when he stopped me.
"Can we talk?" He asked
"Of course" I replied
"About what happened last night, I am still shocked that you were not hurt at all"
"What do you mean?" I asked and I noticed the bruises on his hand
"What happened to you? Did you get hurt?" I asked worriedly.
"It's fine, it will heal soon," he said and ran his hand through his hair
"Is anything wrong?"
"No, I am just surprised because a werewolf caught you but you were not eaten. He was just looking like a moron."
"Hmm... Maybe he sensed my magical powers and became weak"
"I don't think that is the reason, I scent that he is an Alpha, he behaved like he found something precious. It was a little hard to get you out of there, he was very possessive also. I had to run very fast, and even when I did, he continued to follow me." Wendy said and I chuckled
"You are very funny. Every werewolf is possessive of their land so it is because we passed the boundary"
"Alright, I need to go home now"
"Bye" I waved at him and he waved back as he slowly disappeared into thin air. His fast movements saved me, who knows what would have happened if he was not there to help me?
I walked into my room and glanced at Arci who sat in her bed. Her bed is a coffin. Inside the coffin is a silk, cotton blanket
"What were you both talking about?" Arci asked
"Nothing much, it is just about yesterday's incident" I replied
"I heard him say werewolf and mate"
"Well, he misunderstood the incident"
"So why was the wolf looking at you like a dummy as Wendy said?"
"I don't know Arci"
"Don't you intend to know?"
"No, I just want to see my father recover"
"I hope it's not what I'm thinking about"
"What are you thinking about?"
"Is it possible for a werewolf's mate to be a vampire?"
"Arci, you are getting all these on the wrong path, it will never happen"
"What position in the pack is he at? Is he a warrior, beta, alpha, omega, or a handsome mere werewolf?"
"Very funny, Arci. Very funny"
"I am not joking. I read about ten books about werewolves and their mates" Arci spoke and I laid down on my bed, exhausted from arguing
"They are fictional books," I muttered and a beeping sound echoed. Arci brought out her phone from her pocket and glared at the phone screen as she chuckled.
"What happened?" I asked, and I sat on the bed with a little interest in the reason for her chuckles
"A nearby club...tonight." She muttered and I laid back on the bed.
"It is going to be fun," Arci said as she shook my hand
"You know that dad won't allow me to get out of this house or go to a club" I grumbled and she smiled
"We can..."
"Don't tell me that we are going to sneak out"
"That is what we will do," Arci said as she made a cute puppy expression
"Alright" I surrendered and she giggled. A little fun won't hurt, right?
