Alice walked into her apartment with a tired yawn. She stretched out her hands and heard her bones make a crackling sound.
It was another tiring day for her. She was a masseuse and the spa she worked at usually had a whole lot of patronizers and today was not exceptional.
Most of the clients preferred having her as their masseuse. She was good at it.
Alice was well paid but that was not just it. It wasn't what what she liked to do. The job was not something she really loved.
She could not count how many times perverts would want her to give them a private massage at their homes so that they would have the opportunity to flirt with her and pass sexual comments. If she loved the job, she could have endured it but she didn't!
She had had to listen to a quite a lot of men talk about how good it would feel if she could massage them down there. Some times back , she had refused to take male clients and the sales of the spa had dropped badly. Those men were paying high amount to have her be their masseuse!
Her boss had begged her to continue taking male clients and even gave her a huge raise. Alice eventually gave in after all, she needed the money badly.
Her little brother had been in a coma for three years now and she had to bear all expenses for it. Her mother was dead and her father was broke, too broke to afford the expenses.
She had the skills for her job but not the passion. And if it wasn't for her father who was so against her being a painter, Alice was sure she would not be living this tiring life. She would have made a name as a painter already and would be earning enough.
She breathed out deeply, kicking off the heels she was wearing. Within seconds, she twirled her hair into a bun and walked into her room.
She pulled off her clothes and changed into her pajamas quickly.
She rubbed her stomach and glanced at the wall clock. The time was 11pm. It was late and she was hungry but she was too tired to cook.
"Forget it, I will just eat tomorrow morning " she brushed it off and sat down on the chair before her reading table.
Aside from painting, Alice absolutely loved to read stories and the ones she liked the most were the werewolf stories. They were thrilling and exciting.
With a sudden bright look on her face, Alice grabbed one of the books and flipped open the pages.
It was an old book that her friend had lent to her and according to her friend, it was the best werewolf story ever.
With excitement, Alice began reading the book, her eyes trailing every single line with great interest.
The book was indeed worth the hype!
Alice flipped the page and continued reading. For minutes, she was lost in reading the book, she was so absorbed in the book that the ringing of her phone totally startled her.
With a jolt, Alice tore her eyes off the book and glanced at the ringing phone on the table.
It was an unknown number calling. That was weird, especially since it was so late at night.
At first, she did not want to pick up the call. After all it could be one of her pervert clients who found her contact somehow.
But on a second thought, Alice picked up the call and took the phone to her right ear, taking her gaze back to the book.
"Hello? Who is this?" she asked as soon as she picked the call but there was no response on the other side.
For a few seconds, it remained that way. Alice grew impatient and ended the call with a hiss.
"What in the world? " she snorted and returned her attention to the book but in no time, the same contact was calling again.
With a louder grumble, Alice picked up the call.
"Hello! Who is this?" she asked, her tone tougher this time around.
"Welcome Alice Reigns. You have been accepted into the realm" A manly voice replied.
Alice's brows furrowed in confusion. She could not understand what the person was saying.
"What realm?"
"Welcome" was the next response.
Alice wanted to yell at the person for disturbing her peace so late in the middle of the night but the call was ended.
"People have nothing to do these days other than making prank calls?" She scoffed and rolled her eyes.
"Such a vibe killer" she muttered and dropped her phone in the drawer.
She yawned, this time sleepily. Alice glanced at the book wanting to read more of it before going to sleep but the sudden sleepiness was fast taking hold of her.
"Why do I feel so sleepy all of a sudden?" she yawned again.
It was strange for her to feel sleepy while reading a book so interesting.
Shaking her head and being determined to read a few more pages, Alice opened the next page but it was blank.
Her brows pulled together. She rubbed her eyes, hoping her sleepiness wasn't affecting her sight and it wasn't.... The next page was really blank.
She quickly flipped the page to find out if the next one was also blank and it almost was blank.
"No more" was written at the top of the page.
Alice glanced down at the bottom of the page and there was something written there too.
"Why don't you make your own story?"
It was a question.
"What sort of book is this?" Alice asked, still a bit confused at how the book was ending the interesting story and asking her to make hers.
"Delinda must have pranked me" she concluded and yawned again.
Just then, her wall clock chimed. It was 12 am. Alice's eyes suddenly dimmed as she stared at the wall clock.
It felt like sleep but it seemed heavier than sleep. Alice's head dropped on the book and her eyes closed in a very deep sleep.
A type of sleep that would change her life forever.
A drop, another drop and another drop. Alice wondered what was happening. Why was water dropping on her?
She slowly opened her eyes and found herself outside, under a soft drizzle of rain.
Startled, she jumped onto her feet and looked around.
The first thing she laid her eyes on was a huge wall clock hanging in front of a house. The time was 12 but it was day. It had to be 12pm.
Confusion clouded her face. She had been inside her room, and she had fallen asleep, the time was 12am.
It was the middle of the night.
Confused and surprised at how she suddenly wasn't in her room, Alice pinched her skin hard, hoping this was a dream.
But she didn't wake up in her room, she was still there under the drizzle of rain and the only thing that changed was her skin that turned red due to her hard pinch.
Looking down at herself, she realized she wasn't wearing her pajamas, she was wearing a gown that she was sure she did not own.
"What the hell is going on? I don't even recognize this place."
Just then, two girls ran past her at an amazing speed and then a few more girls and then men. Suddenly, a lot of people were running past her towards a direction.
Confused and lost, Alice joined the run and tapped a girl she could catch up with.
"Excuse me, what's going on?" she asked and the girl suddenly cringed.
"What the....?! Do you no longer know your place, Alice? How can your omega fingers touch me?"
"O... Omega fingers?"
"Don't you ever touch me again, Alice." the girl warned and focused on running.
Alice was even more confused. She did not know who that girl was but that girl seemed to know her.
And omega fingers?
"This is not a wolf world " Alice chuckled, stopping for a moment.
And then she continued running. Everyone stopped running at an open field.
Wondering what was going on, Alice began to make her way through the crowd of people to get to see what was happening.
The sight she saw terrified her.
Four men were bound to the floor and there was another man standing before them.
He was tall and well built.... No, not just well built, he was perfectly built.
Dark haired with brown eyes that led to a straight nose and a perfect sized lips, Alice could not help but think he was the definition of perfect.
This man would make a fortune being a model!
Alice was entirely drawn by his looks but another look at the bound men told her looks were not the issue right now.
The handsome man grabbed the head of one of the bound men and Alice watched in horror as his fingers grew longer.... Into claws!
And buried into the man's head. With a popping sound, blood splattered and some of it splattered on Alice's face.
She gasped in shock and horror and the air around her suddenly turned cold. She looked at the man who had just killed another man and this time she could see clearly.
The man raised his head up and in his beautiful brown eyes were plain coldness, coldness and cruelty a human could not possess. A type of coldness only a beast could possess.
"Alpha Chase, please forgive me this time. Please." the second man cried for mercy.
Alpha??
Was this reality a werewolf world?
No! Alice shook her head. Werewolves could not exist. This could be a movie set! It had to be but the blood on her face and the corpse on the floor, they were real!
This handsome, cold man was killing in public and everyone was watching with rapt attention.
Were they so enthralled by his beauty that they could not think or speak?
Then the second man.... His head was snapped off in one swift movement.
Alice wanted to run away from this nightmare of a handsome cold man killing but she could not run, she felt like her legs were stuck in that one position.
The drizzling continued.
Alice watched as the third and fourth men were killed by the beautiful monster in gruesome manners and at the fourth death, the people all cheered.
Alice could not believe her ears and her eyes as the people cheered wildly for the man whose expression did not change a tiny bit after killing four men!
Alice could not take it. She had to do something. She could not watch the man start to walk away freely after killing the men.
She didn't care about the fact that she had no idea about where she was or the fact that the man could equally kill her just like he killed these men.
"Stop!!" she yelled loudly and absolute silence followed.
The man stopped in his tracks and glanced at Alice who bravely took three steps forward even though her legs shook.
"How can you commit such a heinous crime and try to walk away?!" she yelled at him.
"What... What is she doing?"
"Does she realize who she is talking to?"
"Perhaps she is tired of her miserable life and wants to end it"
Different comments filled the air and it took a few seconds for Alice to regain her courage.
"You all watched this man kill four men and you are going to let him go? He is a murderer. Someone call the cops 0r something!" She yelled at the people and they all fell silent.
"A... Alice, the omega" someone muttered from the crowd as Alice turned to face the beautiful monster in front of her.
"How dare you?!" his voice was deep and so masculine but Alice refused to let it get to her in that manner.
His eyes suddenly turned red and he began walking towards her. With every step he took closer to her, Alice felt herself crumbling, her heart was suddenly beating wilder and her entire body seemed like she was having a race.
The man got to her and with a dangerous glint in his eyes, his hands wrapped around her neck.
"She must be out of her mind to talk to Alpha Chase that way."
Alice heard someone say just as she began to choke. The beautiful monster raised her up in the air, his grip on her neck tightening and then, their eyes met.
Alice felt like she was suddenly pulled into his eyes, like his arms were not on her neck.
She heard a voice inside her head.
"Ma....Mate"
Chase stopped, his cold eyes flashing with a tiny bit of emotion as he realized who he was holding in his hands.... His mate.
As her green eyes stared deeply into his own brown eyes, he could feel his wolf side raging and pushing him to let go of her.
The sudden surprise on her face showed that she had realized the same thing he just realized.
A mate!
Chase didn't want another mate. A new mate after the death of his first mate, he didn't want one.
With a groan, he released his grip on her neck and let her drop to the floor.
Alice coughed as her lungs sought for enough air to fill them
"Are.... Are you all really werewolves?" Alice asked as soon as she could speak.
But no one dared to speak, not when Chase was still hovering above her.
He was not going to let anyone find out that she was his new mate. And she was an omega! He could feel her wolf energy and it was weak. She was not fit to be his Luna and he was not interested in having a mate.
He had to deal with this as soon as possible.
"Bring her to my home" his deep, cold voice ordered and he turned on his heels, walking away.
Alice watched as a man picked her up from the floor and began to walk after the Alpha.
Alice could not say a word but again, she heard a voice inside her head and that was when she realized, it was her wolf side speaking to her!
She really was in a werewolf world!
"Alice" her wolf side called.
"Tell me how I got here, how did I get here? I am not your human, I don't belong to this world" she replied her wolf side.
"I don't know how you got in." Her wolf side replied quietly.
"I don't like speaking much so I will tell you what you should know..."
"What??"
"We are an omega wolf and we are always bullied. It will happen everyday so don't feel strange. Him, the Alpha is supreme in this world. He is our hero, a hero we all fear and you heard me right just now, he is our mate" she explained.
"Why are you not excited, then? You should be excited that your mate is the Alpha, that would put an end to the bullying, right?" Alice asked.
"You will find that out yourself" her wolf side responded and went silent.
"Hey? Hello?" Alice called but there was no response anymore.
Alice still could not help but feel strange and yet a part of her contained excitement.
She was in a werewolf world! There was going to be so much to find out and learn!
A small smile showed up on her lips, a smile that was going to disappear soon and perhaps never show up on her face again.
Alice closed her eyes through the movement and in about a minute or two, she was dropped to the floor harshly.
Her eyes shot open with a loud groan.
"Can't you be gentle?" She grumbled but the glare of the man shut her up.
"Leave" it was Chase. He had his back turned to her and his presence in the room brought about an immense coldness.
"Yes, Alpha" the man who had carried her bowed and walked out.
Alice looked around, she was in a beautiful, luxurious mansion. They were both in the living room right now.
"M... Mate" she called, not knowing what else to say.
Chase turned to her sharply, his gaze cold and yet piercing.
"Don't you ever call me that" his words were so chilling that Alice felt the hairs on her neck stand.
He walked towards her, tall and heavily built, him towering above her while she was on the floor made her feel smaller than ever.
Alice could feel her heart pounding hard and fast.
"Hello? Wh... What's going on?" She called out to her wolf side, scared.
She was the only one in the room with this handsome monster and she had watched him kill four men minutes ago.
She had every right to be afraid of him.
He suddenly bent over, locking his gaze with hers. Alice could not hold his sharp gaze that held nothing but a murderous look in them.
With a scared whimper, she looked down to the floor but his fingers went to her chin and pulled her face up.
"Don't call me your mate" his words were in a deep growl.
Alice nodded quickly, unable to find words to say.
He suddenly let go of her chin, letting her face drop down. He turned and walked a few steps away.
"I, Alpha Chase of the Red Moon Pack reject you as my mate"
Alice's head shot up. Now, she understood why her wolf side had not been in any way excited. She knew this was going to happen.
She was being rejected!
She hated rejection! She hated it when her father had rejected her passion of being a painter! She hated it when her friends had rejected her because she could not afford the fancy things they bought while catering for her brother's medical needs to.
Alice's eyes filled with tears. She didn't want to be rejected!
"You don't want me?" Her voice cracked.
"I don't repeat myself. You should get up and leave now"
But Alice was too weak to get on her feet. She was done here, she wanted to go back to her world... Her brother needed her but she had no idea how she could go back.
The door opened and a man walked in, he had brown hair and dark eyes and he was handsome too but not as much as the cold-hearted Alpha.
"Chase" he called, glancing at Alice.
Alice felt the voice was familiar. Oddly.
"Who is she?" Chase questioned, turning to face Alice and beta Ronald.
"Alice Reigns, 24, no family and no friends, works as a cleaner for the trainees, an omega. There is nothing more on her"
Alice knew they were talking about her. She had no family here! And no friends!
"Reigns...." Chase mumbled the name like.
"Yes, Reigns. She is a distant relative to the family who killed Keira"
Alice watched his eyes turn bloody and the expression on his face fill with hatred that was directed at her.
Keira was Chase's first mate, he loved her and cherished her until she was killed. He had killed the man who killed her and his entire family with his hands.
And now, the moon goddess had decided to play with him, giving him the distant relative of that bloody man as his mate.
But he wasn't going to let the moon goddess play with him, he was going to play with the choice of the moon goddess instead.
"Oh, Alice." He took two steps closer to her and Alice quickly crawled backwards.
"You should have left when I asked you to"
"But good thing you are still here. I am going to make your pretty figure pay for their crimes" a murderous grin spread across his face.
A grin should have made him look softer but it only made Alice fear him more.
Was this the beautiful werewolf world she has read about?!
Alice thought of telling him she wasn't who he thought she was, she wasn't from this world but it was obvious he would not believe her.
Chase suddenly turned to his beta.
"Throw her into the cold room"
