Chapter 1

A Broken Heart.

Elena was so excited as she stared at her reflection in the mirror. Her engagement ceremony was just into days, and she's so excited about it. Already, preparations for the event have been made, entertainers have been booked. She was grateful to the moon goddess for giving her a mate like Alpha Logan_ the love of her life.

Just when she picked up a hair pin from the table, warm hands circle her waist. Knowing who it was, a sweet smile graced her lips and she giggled.

Her brown eyes meeets his gaze in the mirror.

"What's troubling you, little one?" His thick warm voice filled her ears, sending warm tingles down her spine. She always felt like this whenever he was around her

"Nothing serious....... just thinking about our mating ceremony which is in two days" she admit.

"And what about it? Don't tell me you're anxious?"

Sighs. "Well I'm a bit anxious about...."

"Becoming my queen?" He cuts her off, completing her words.

"Yeah, kinda"

Logan's exerted one of his hands from her waist and placed it on her shoulder and gave it a gentle squeeze.

"Nothing to worry about, little one" A smile broke her lips as he called her the nick name he had given her. He gave her the name from the onset he discovered she was his fated, and heck yes, she loved it whenever he called her 'Little one'

"I'm certain you'll make a good queen..." However Logan was interrupted when he hear a mindlink.

'Where are you Alpha?' a random voice and he clenched his fist.

'What is it?' he gritted.

'Just come over, please'

'Fine, I'm coming' he replied. Moving away from Elena "I'll be back" he tells her and she nods.

Heaving a dry sigh, he sauntered out of the room.

"I'm happy for you, Elena" Elena's cousin Lisa said.

"I know right, this is mind blowing. But I have to admit I'm really anxious, I don't know why buh I've been having mixed feelings like something would go wrong"

"Oh come on, it's normal to feel like that but it doesn't mean the latter. On the contrary,what could possibly go wrong? When your fated is the Alpha, besides you have me. Don't forget it" Lisa replied

"Oh, thank you Lisa. I don't know what I would do without you. I love you so much" Elena pulls Lisa into a warm tight hug.

"Uh, okay. Too much hugging, can't breathe"

Elena tittered "Sorry" she released Lisa immediately.

"No problem, well I have to go now"

Elena scrunched her brows and crossed her arms across her chest. "And if I may ask, where are you going to?"

"Uh, well no place important. Just going to help a friend out"

"Can I come?" Elena beamed with a smile.

"No. You're the soon -to -be Luna of the pack, you're not supposed to be seen hanging around random people you know"

"Well that doesn't mean I can't live a little" Elena fake pouted in a playful manner.

"I'm not saying you can't live a little, I'm just saying you can't follow me to where I'm going now."

"Really, but why?. I'm kinda bored you know" Elena insisted.

"I'm sorry my Luna, but no" Lisa stated leaving no room for any argument.

"Fine, well don't come home late"

"I promise, I won't. See you later" Lisa said and scurried out of the house.

Ivana- Elena's wolf had been quiet, like she was receding in Elena's mind where she couldn't reach out to her. It made her heart rate spike, was having an odd feeling. One she couldn't explain.

She was feeling quite different now,quite odd than usual. Like she was afraid of something she just couldn't place her finger on.

Lisa was out and there was no one at home, so she decided to pay Logan a visit.

Stepping out from her car and heading into the pack house. She peered out into the hallway, looking from left to right as the pull got stronger than before. She turn to her right and followed the hallway down before turning left into another hallway. She didn't why,but it elt as though she was in a daze as she continued down. As thought the stretch of the hallway kept getting longer, but on the real sense, she was just taking very slow and calculated steps as her heart rate kept increasing.

She had never felt like this whenever she came to visit the Alpha, so why the sudden fear?

Looking around the hall, the whole place was quiet and void of anyone which was unsual. You'd always see Beta Grey or some of the servants paroling around the hall carrying out their assigned duties, but today it's quite different.

Something was wrong. She thought to herself. Heading straight to the Alpha's room, she could see the door cracked open at the end.

"Did he forget to close the door?"

With each calculative step she took towards the Alpha's room which was just at the end of the hallway,she could feel her heart rate increasing. Almost like she was having a panic attack. And just when she was a metre away from the door, she could hear soft moans escaping from the room.

Anxious and confused, she forced her legs and strode to the Alpha's room. Her pulse beating so quickly and hardly, that she felt the palpitations of every atery in her.

"What is wrong with you Elena Almeria Knight today? You're just overthinking yourself, everything is fine" she reassured herself and shrugged. With that, she fastened her steps. However, before she could walk any further she instantly stopped in a mid motion when she heard different sounds coming from the room. Taking two steps, the sounds became more audible to her hearing.

Her breathing became more heavy as she recognized Logan's voice. He sounded gruffed, strained even as he spoke out over the soft moans.

"Shut up! Do you want someone to hear you?" She heard him snap. Hot tears clouded her eyes as it dawned on her that he might be in there with someone else, when their mating ceremony was just by the corner. She gulped down a heavy lump that formed in her throat,

"I.....I... I'm sorry Alpha it's just that you're, oh goddess!"

Elena's heart skipped on this one, it was familiar and heck yes does she recognize that voce anywhere. It sounded familiar,very familiar. Just like- Lisa's.

'No, it can't be! There's no way this is happening, maybe it's just my illusion' she thought to herself and swung the door open immediately, but she regretted doing so as she spotted the unbelievable.

Her mate on their soon to be matrimonial bed with- her cousin.

That moment she felt her whole world come crashing down, wishing the ground would open and take her. She didn't want to inform them of her presence, she wanted to run away forever, far away from him and anyone. But her wolf -Ivana couldn't stand watching them anymore. She push herself forward, taking control of Elena and forcing her to speak.

"L- Lo- Logan" No matter how hard she tried to control herself, she heard her broken voice come out of her trembling lips. This was honestly too much to bear for her.

"Huh!" As soon as he heard Elena's low soft voice, his eyes instantly flashed open and then cursed before pushing her cousin aside who gasped and tried to hide her face with a pillow.

"Elena?! What are you doing here?"

She stifled. She didn't want to cry out in front of him but seeing Lisa, her own cousin made them stream done her face. So this was the friend she wanted to help out?

Her fated!

Her mate!

Whom their mating ceremony was in one day!

With the tears burning down against her cheeks, she felt her nager rising to her surface. She just caught him with her cousin and he had the guts to ask her what she was doing here. Is this the man she's going to spend the rest of her life with? A cheat?

But why?

Was it because she decided for them to wait till after their mating ceremony? If he didn't like the idea of celibacy he should have said so. Or did she do anything wrong? But whatever did she do to deserve this?

He knows quite well that Lisa is her cousin, it could have been anyone but why Lisa? Her own blood?

The betrayal hit her and she could feel Ivana's anger too.

'We should reject this piece of crap Elena! He doesn't worth us' she voced sounding more pained than ever.

"Logan,why?"

"What did I do to deserve this? Did I wrong you? What did I do wrong? Why her? Why? And our engagement is in one day, you know this and yet you..."

"Elena.." He called but she cuts him off.

Elena drifted her gaze to Lisa who tried to hide her face more with the pillow, but it was of no use.

"And you, what did I ever do to you Lisa? I begged my mom to take you in, when your parents died and you were homeless. I took you like my own sister not even as my cousin, I loved you. I've gone through a lot for and this how you pay me back? Why?!."

"So this is the friend you have to help out, right? How stupid of me, I should have known. Who knows how long this have been going on, under my nose" she darts her gaze to Logan.

"I thought you loved me, I was ready to lay down my everything for you. Just to be with you."

"This was a mistake Elena, it shouldn't have happened" Logan voiced.

"A mistake? It's a mistake because I got to find out!" And without saying another word, she turned and strutted out of the room.

She ran out of the hallway, with brisk steps. With her mind occupied, she tripped and fell to the ground, her heart racing as she tried to catch her breath. She didn't know where she was running to, but she just wanted to be away from the pack house. She just wanted to be alone, anywhere away from everyone.

It's been a day since she caught her fated with her cousin. She hasn't seen Lisa or even Alpha Logan, and worst of all she had expected him to come apologizing to her but he didn't. Like he didn't even care about their relationship at all.

'We should just forget about him Elena, I'm having a bad feeling about this' Ivana warned but Elena is ready to let it pass. She loves Alpha Logan so much to let him go just because of a mistake. Yes, she decided to believe it was a mistake.

Alpha Logan had sent for her and just when she approached one of the hallways, she spotted Lisa coming out from a door that led to the kitchen.

Elena's jaw clenched and her fist tightened. She so wanted to confront her cousin and she didn't have the chance to and now she did. She wondered if Lisa was sorry for what she did, and also wondered what she was doing in the Alpha's house.

Lisa's startled on seeing Elena but then her lips slowly tilted upwards to a shocking smirk that got Elena taken aback.

"Lisa?'

"What?!" Scoffs. "Are you surprised Alpha likes me better?" She huffed and moved closer to Elena, glaring deeply into her eyes. "Well don't be, there's more coming your way too if you should know" Lisa said and with that,she hissed and sauntered out of the hallway.

"I Logan Lee Parker, Alpha of the Silver river pack........reject you, Elena Almeria Knight. You're not worthy to be my wife" Logan's deep baritone declares.

Everyone present gasp in disbelief, some laughs with scornful gazes and smirks.

Elena felt her whole world coming to an end, now she really wished the floor would open and take her in. Her chest constricted and her heart shattered to pieces.

Was she dreaming?

It can't be true?

She thought to herself staring deeply at Logan. She had waited for this day, only to be rejected.

'Logan, why?' she mindlinked him as her eyes blurred with tears.

But instead, he stared at her with an emotionless gaze. With no ounce of remorse or any type of guilt in his eyes.

Just when she thought there was a flicker of remorse or pity in his eyes and her heart leaped a little in hope, he looked away. Darting his gaze behind Elena, she was forced to look back, to know what got his attention.

Her eyes widened in shock as her once fated mate declare and chose her cousin as his mate. Lisa glared at her and her lips tilted into a victory smirk.

Everything came running in her mind in a blur, she didn't want to believe it. The rejection, the pain, it was hurting and Logan didn't seem to care at all.

He cheated on her and she forgave him and still, he chose her cousin and broke their bond.

Trying her best to contemplate all that just happened, internalizing everything to come back to the reality- she wasn't dreaming.

Ivana gets angry and when she takes over, her eyes changes to Ivana's gold ones and in a blink of an eye- she vanished from the pack.

Chapter two

Elena's pov.

I didn't know where Ivana was taking us to but, I was happy she took me out of that pack. Stopping me from breaking down and facing more embarrassments.

I loved him.

I was happy to be his mate.

I forgave him.

After all what he did, I let it go and forgave him.

But still, he chose to betray me once more. I was a coward to think it was all a mistake, because I was blinded by my love and desire for him when the whole truth was before me but I chose to be ignorant.

All my life, I've always chosen to be ignorant with things around me. Thinking more about other people than myself and at the end of the day it's still me that gets hurt,all alone to nurse my wounds.

But no, I refuse to be that girl. I refuse to be that stupid, kindhearted Elean any more. I stopped being her the moment I stepped out of that pack and now I'm free, to start my life afresh. Away from my painful past.

Low- hanging branches slap at Ivana's face and shoulders, I'm certain they'd leave a few marks on her body but non of them would be compared to our bruised heart.

We keep running and finally came to a halt by a cliff. Finally, Ivana returns back in. I was already tired and exhausted from the almost endless run. Looking around my now surrounding, it seemed I have reached a point of no return.

But I don't seem to care, as long as I'm far away from anything related to the Silver river pack. Regaining more strength, I sprang to my feet and begin my unknown journey.

The moon is high, a silver of light barely breaking through the canopy overhead when I pause and lean against a thick tree trunk to catch my breath. My chest burns as though my lungs are on fire, and my muscles are shaky and weak. Taking in heavy breaths, I managed to calm myself and in next minute I'm up in my trail.

Yes, I was lost. But I didn't want to have that feeling of devastation, the feeling of losing to everything around me. So I continue wallking, although my feets seem sore in my shoes and the pains bore into me in every step I take. Still I chose to ignore them and carry on, I needed to find a good spot to rest for the night.

The farther I walk, the more my vision tunnels and the wooozier I feel. When the ground ahead of me dips downwards sharply, I'm not prepared for it. My steps falter, and I stumble, falling forward. I flail,arms thrashing out to my sides for anything I can grab to keep me from hitting the ground.

But the trees seem to have grown further apart now and I have nothing to hold on to.

I tumble down the side of a ravine, a pained grunt forcing it's way out of my lungs as my body rolls over the rough rocks and dirts.

When I come to a stop at the bottom of the ravine, darkness overtakes me and I black out.

It's still seem dark when my eyes slowly opens again.

My mind is only half- alert, I don't have any idea on how much time had passed since I blacked out. It could have been minutes or probably hours or so.

I can't seem to move my limbs, I'm lying on my stomach. Just when I try to sit up,I notice the strange environment I'm in.

A bright light in the celling a bit farther away from where I was laid. Peering my eyes around, i tried to take in the features around me. I could see a make- shift- closet. A few furnitures and, turning my head I realized I was on a bed......wait where am I?

Am I in the Silver river pack?

No, but how did they find me?

How come?

Why did they bring me back here? To punish me and humiliate me more than they have done?

No! I won't let them have their way this time. I won't let their worthless Alpha and that slut Lisa riducle me, I'd rather diethan watch them do so.

Escape! Yes, that's what I'm going to do. I tried to sit up but my whole body screams at me not move. Like each and every part of my body was bruised, but I don't care about that now, I have to leave now before this people do their worst to me.

A low grunt leaves my lips as I force my self up, carefully, I placed my feet on the floor. It was cold hell right, i scanned the room and my eye glistened as I found a pair of ragged flip-flops. They didn't look so good,but they'll do.

With everything in me, I take careful slow steps to pick up the flip-flops. Just when I had approached the area where it was laid, the door opened and an old lady walked in.

I flinched and fell to the floor.

The old lady had a tray with a bowl on it one her hand,she dripped the tray on a table and rushed to my side.

"Careful, you're hurt" she told me as she tried to lift my arm careful. I hiss and swat her hands away from me.

She's certainly one of them, probably one of Logan's workers. I don't trust any of them anymore.

"Let me go!" I screamed but my voice only came out as a mere whisper.

"Oh my, my dear calm down. I know you're scared but let me help you"

"No leave me alone, and tell your Alpha, tell that pig Logan I'm not his toy. I won't let him humiliate or ridicule me, I don't want to be here so why did you bring me here. Let me go please" I begged, the old lady tilts her head to a side and shook it in pity.

Her aura was quite confusing, I was expecting a couple of Logan's guards to come in here or so that betrayer Lisa to show face but I havey seen or hear of any of them. Maybe this lady was hired to keep me imprisoned

against my will!

"Please let me help you dear" she pleaded, seems she's quite a good actorr feigning innocence like she wants to help me

How much did they pay you huh?

"Why am I here?" I asked as anger surged up in me.

"I found you by a ravine my dear, you didn't look so good. I thought you had died j til I felt your pulse, you look helpless and sore so I decided to help you, child" she stated but still I won't believe.

Such a good actor.

It sounds too good to be true!

"Tell your Alpha to let me go, you hear me!"

Her brows furrowed like she didn't understand what I was saying. Yeah, right, I know better now.

"What do you mean Alpha? Look you don't need to be worried okay, Alpha Liam isn't a bad person. I promise" her words cuts through me and I'm left in surprise.

Liam?

"Who's Liam?" I here myself ask.

"The Alpha of the Red Knight pack" she reply staring at me with pity eyes.

Alpha?

Red Knight pack?

Am I....

"You're in the Red Knight pack, my dear" she clarified and I go still.

I was in another pack, so I was kinda safe after all. Away from Logan and Lisa, yes! thank you Moon Goddess for not letting me back into the hands of those betrayers.

Without another further complain, I let the lady lift me up and she takes me back to the bed that seemed too comfy.

"Here, I brought you some food. Eat and have some strength" she told me, I didn't reply but I nod instead.

With that she exots the room forme toeaf alone.

Even though I wasy supposed to feel safe here I didn't know why a part of me felt secured.

Nevertheless, I'd prepare myself for whatever thing that would come.

"I never want to have a mate again,ever" I say almost in the verge of tears.

"Well you can't tell, you see the moon goddess knows what best for us. And sometimes when there's a twist of fated mates the broken mate is compensated with a new one sometimes better than the first mate." Beatrice explained.

It's been a week since Beatrice took me into her pack and began taking care of me. I owe a little of my life to her, she's such a life saver and a good person too.

I've healed although the marks are still quite visible, but I'm not in pain thanks to her treatments. Although I haven't gotten out of the room to view my outside surrounding yet but she assured me she'd show me some placed once I'm fully recovered.

I told here my ordeal.

How I wanted to be celibate till my mating ceremony with Logan, how he came to me pleading that night he was with Lisa and I let him have his way with me as he claimed what happened between Lisa and him was a mistake. And also how I was rejected by my fated mate on our mating ceremony and How my very own cousin was accepted and chosen instead.

We had become close a little and I was beginning to like her more than I do now.

Today, we were to go to the market but first she said there was someone she wanted me to meet.

Once she left the room to get herself a drink, I try to reach out to Ivana. She had been calm and quiet since Logan's rejection. It really hurt her, and she was more broken and hurt than I was.

'Ivana? Ivana, are you there?' I called and she responded after a short second.

'Yeah...' a blunt reply.

'i'm sorry Ivana. I let us down, I should have listened to you. I'm sorry, pls forgive me'

'No, we've moved on remember? I'm just tired and exhausted from the whole drama' Ivana replied.

'oh, buh at least you're still there's I said and she laughed.

Just then the door opened and a man walked in and immediately Ivana raises her head inside me.

Behind this ma was Beatrice who had a warm smile on her face.

He had a dominating aura, scary and intoxicating. But in all, he was handsome. More like a Greek god.

The man halts and stared at me with a weird look, I didn't understand why he was staring a t.me like that tillI Ivana revealed why.

'Mate? He's our mate! Mate!' she squealed in shock, leaving.me astound.

My mate?!

But how could this be?

There's no way I'd have two mates, yes I was rejected by my fated so I have to stay unmated for life. So how is this happening?

'Mate! Go to Mate! His wolf has acknowledged us!' Ivana prowls in excitement. Judging by how sad she was before and now suddenly excited.

No matter what I wont let myself be used by this man, whether he's my mate or not I don't care.

'but I believe he'll be better than Logan's Ivana said defending the stranger.

'Now you're just being selfish Ivana, don't you even care about how I'm feeling? I haven't fully recovered from the Logan and Lisa's betrayer and now you want me to get tied to someone else.' I retorted.

'He's our mate Elena'

'and I don't care. And I won't act like I can feel the bond, so you better behave Ivana' I retorted.

She huff d and nods, now laying still and calm.

"Please sir, who are you?" I asked feigning an innocent look.

"Elena, meet Liam. My son and the Alpha of the Red Knight pack" Beatrice introduced.

Chapter 3

"I don't know why the Moon Goddess chose her as the Alpha's mate"

Eirene paused as she heard those words, her feet glued to the floor.

"You're right, omegas are the worst. And our poor Alpha is her mate, no matter what I won't accept her as my Luna. She's not worth it" Another voice, broke out.

Laughs. "Pathetic Luna, I'm sure Alpha Bastien..."

Without letting them finish their words Eirene walked in on them.

They gasped

"Luna" their voice trembling as they bowed their heads. Certainly, she overhead all they'd said about her and she so wanted to punish them and report them to Bastien. But today, she'd let it slide. Giving them a once over look, she sighs and sauntered back to her room.

Immediately she got in, she shut the door and locked it. With her back pressed firmly against the door. Tears stunged her eyes and she let them pour down. Thankfully,Alpha Bastien wasn't in the room at the moment so she had it all to herself.

She knew the Blue crest pack didn't like her, it wasn't the first time for her to hear such trivial remarks about her from their subjects.

A low whimper left her mouth as she cried out in pain, it hurt so much to be rejected everywhere you go just because of what you are. It was like a curse, that she'd live with all her life.

Bastien too hasn't been giving her the best treatment so far, he was rather too busy in his office to spend time with her or exhausted.

It's been three weeks since she arrived and he hasn't claimed her yet. Although their mating ceremony was in three days but still, he wasn't giving her the attention she desired from a mate.

She was given whatever she asked. Every single person were to obey each and every of her command. But she still felt like a total stranger.

'Come on Eirene, it's going to be fine. There'd have to accept us, whether they like it or not' Ren voiced.

"When? I can see the look of despise in their eyes whenever they're before me. And Bastien..."

'He loves us, you know that' Ren cuts in.

"I would love to believe that, Ren" Eirene retorted. Bastien was somewhat of a hard hearted fellow. Short tempered, Emotionless and Cold.

Ren huffed and kept silent afterwards.

Just then, she heard a knock on the door. Sprouting to her feet, she wiped her yes immediately with the back of her hands and dusted her dress. Feigning a fake smile, she gently opened the door. A warm smile graced Eirene's lips on seeing the person at the door.

"Selena" She called and hugged her.

On the second week of Eirene's stay in the Blue crest pack, she was to accompany Bastien into the courtroom to greet the guest that were present then. An old woman, whom everyone acknowledged as a seer was present alongside a lady of Eirene's age. Who later on the seer declared them to be relatives.

She disclosed to the counsel that the two were relatives. Both father's were brothers from same parents. The seer revealed a vision were she saw the brothers run into a burning house to save their wives and kids.

Eirene's heart skipped on hearing those words, she's had countless of nightmares of a house burning and a man yelling out her name for her to take his hands. In the dream, she was scared and trapped too.

Selena also revealed that her parents died in a fire incident, and they were omegas too. She was taken in by the pack's omegas but ran away when she couldn't take the much torture.

Eirene was happy to discover she had a cousin. Alas, she had someone whom she could truly call family. Their sisterly bond blossomed as they became almost inseparable, hanging out to make up with the lost times.

"I didn't know you were going to come" Eirene said.

"Oh, but I'm here now. I was really bored at home, so i decided to come over and say hi" Selena replied with a wink.

"So any plans for the weekend?" Selena asked and Eirene squirmed with an arched brow.

"Don't tell me you're not doing anything fun this weekend.... fine, we'll go shopping" Selena declared leaving no room for any disagreement from Eirene.

"Okay, whatever you say" Eirene said in fake submission and they laughed.

"But right now, I'm starving. I could really use some good delicacies to fill my belly right now"

Eirene laughed as Selena just reminded her of Aida."How about some chicken alfredos? and fajitas?"

"Sounds good" Selena replied and they both sauntered towards the kitchen to get their favorite dishes.

Eirene just had another eavesdropping session where she hears one of the servants grumble about an omega becoming their Luna. She stands in front of the mirror, staring at her reflection.

Hot tears clouded in her eyes, threatening to spill in any second. But then she promised herself never to cry because of what anyone said about her, she had been tough all these years in the Red Moon pack. She never broke down and so why should she now?

Warm hands encircled her waist, dragging her back to present. "What are thinking about?"

She meets his icy gaze in the mirror, leaning back against his chest. "Nothing important" She replied.

"Hmmm" His rumbling hum vibrates against her spine, "Then why not tell me" he replied, darting his gaze to her neck visible to him.

"I was thinking about......why you haven't marked me yet."she admitted.

Bastien frowns, dropping his head in thought for a moment. Eirene gulped a lump in fear as she thought he was angry with her for what she said.

When he raises it again, he nods tersely. "That's not a problem, Eirene." He said softly, much to her surprise. His warm thumb moved to caress a side her neck.

"You're mine, marked or not. No one else can claim you" his deep baritone voiced out in an authoritative tone.

"You have nothing to be afraid of" his voice calm yet gravely low. She stared at him and he flashed her a deep smirk that made her skin shudder.

The next thing she knew, he claimed her lips. She felt an explosion whooshing in her, her heart beating faster and wider against her chest. Suddenly she felt alive, like he had ignited a low fire in her. Ren leaped for joy, growling in excitement.

Once he departed his lips, his firm orbs stared at her for a moment. She lowered her gaze for a moment as she was flustered, Bastien smirked and released his grip from her waist.

He leaves her to be alone for a while. She turn to look at her reflection in the mirror, a shy smile broke her lips.

Maybe, there was nothing to be worried about after all. She thought to herself.

She decided to pay her mate a surprise visit today. On her way to his house, she stops by the roadside when she spotted a pup selling colourful roses.

"What a cute little one" she stepped out of the car and proceeded to get some bouquet of roses for Bastien. Not he like flowers, he didn't seem like he did. But she couldn't go to visit him without something.

Their engagement ceremony was in one week and she was feeling real excited. To her, the moon goddess had finally giving her the best blessing any she-wolf could ever ask for.

First, she had succeeded in leaving the Red Moon pack. Next she found her mate and now the soon to be Luna of the Blue crest pack.

Stepping out of her car, she head straight to the Alpha's house. Here the Alpha's family and Betas family all live together in the pack house with a number of enforcers, official pack business occurs in the government building next door. Some smaller packs might be able to do everything from their coentral packs, but the Novas outgrew the spaces centuries ago.

Bastien lived in a luxurious private apartment on the top floor. The Betas daughter offered me a vacation trip that Bastien thought it was okay for me to embark on and I had the best of fun if you ask me. The fun I wouldn't have had if I was still stuck in the slavery yard.

A month has passed since I left the Red Moon pack. Though I'm still heartsick for Luna, but at least freedom has returned some light to my eyes. I'm slowly learning about the pack and everything I need to know to know about their traditions too through a combination of formal learning and eavesdropping.

It was through one of this eavesdropping session that I learn about Louisa. Apparently before I came along, Bastien had been planning to take a she-wolf named Louisa Winters as his mate. It seems my arrival forced him to end their engagement.

Sometimes I feel like being in love with someone else would certainly explain Bastien's distance, but then I remember how he boldly revealed I was his mate in front of every guest in the Red Moon pack house,then I tell myself there's nothing to be worried about.

And just when i make I way up the steps, I suddenly felt a strange pain in my ball pit. I was beginning to feel different and hurt and I couldn't explain why.

Ren was whimpering as though she had hurt herself and that alone got me scared, what was happening.

I managed to ascend the stairs and once I arrived at the hallway which led to Bastien's room, I spot a familiar female figure sneaking out of Bastien's room. Her hair looked so disheveled, her pupils were dilated like she had just won a marathon or something. She tiptoed with brisk steps out of the hallway.

I could notice her tittering and mumbling somethings to herself. With my wolf ears, I managed to hear a bit of her words.

"I always knew the Alpha wanted me."

A gasp left my mouth on hearing her words. Suddenly I felt my chest constricting with a force, my heart clenching with pain. It seems she was too excited from the ecstatic pleasure she just received that she didn't watch were she was going and she bumped into me.

"Hey, are you blind?! Can't you.." she paused as I glared at her.

"Luna?" Realizing herself, she got up and scurried out if the hallway immediately.

My jaw clenched and my fist tightened. Bastien has some explaining to do.

With angry steps, I storm into his room. And as an evidence, he was shirtless with just a towel wrapped below his waist. And the room, it reeked of their atrocious act.

It was true.

He slept with her.

A supirsed look flickered in his eyes as I barged in, probably thinking I wouldn't return form the so called vacation today. Now it made sense, he agreed that I go for that stupid vacation so he could get rid of me for a while.
