ALPHAS'AGAINST AN ALPHA: The Mysterious Revenge

CHAPTER ONE

ALPHA ZODA'S POV

The news of Alpha Quarah's death got to me and once in many eyes, I didn't feel the pain of losing a fellow Alpha.

Though a legend like him is gone, I'm not shaken nor disturbed as to who will become the new Alpha of his great park when his son Bryan is young and alive.

For, it has never been that an elephant will give birth to a lion.

I'm very much convinced Bryan will make a great Alpha even more than his late father.

The news of his enthronement came to Me weeks ago. I became elated when I was informed as the one to enthrone him may be due to my position as the Eldest among the Alphas.

Today is the day a title will be added to Bryan and not just a title, a powerful and respectable one.

I am thirty minutes to the commencement of the event and the park is a forty minutes drive from my office.

I canceled every pending appointment and quickly scanned my eyes through the remaining documents and effected changes where needed, rearranged my table, picked up my bag, and exited my office.

I stopped by Mrs.Brenda's office, my PA.

"Mrs. Branda, I'm on my way to the enthronement party of Bryan. I want you to come with me. Sorry for taking you unaware I forgot to inform you earlier."

Objectively she said "yes"

I watch her rearrange her table, switch off her office appliances and rush to pick up her handbag.

We walked as fast as our legs could carry us to the reception so much that one could barely see our steps as we descended the stairs.

At the reception, all eyes with questionable expressions were on me.

But I am too busy to be bothered about it.

I know it is unlike me to leave the office in the early afternoon with my PA as the only accompaniment.

I walk to my SUV, the latest model tinted glass car, open it and hop in and my PA did the same.

I turn on the ignition, reverse, and was about to drive out of the building when my second to command confronted me

"Greetings Chief, it is not right for you to be out on the street alone without any of us with you. May I send some boys to accompany you? "he said.

"Yes! I mean No."

Before I could say something else my PA cut in.

" Thank you very much, Inspector, we are embarking on a family visit, okay? We don't need the boys today, may you now leave?"

She said and the inspector left as if he waited for her to speak

I zoomed off.

Yes, I am the chief of the Army general in charge of the Soda Republic and I'm not supposed to be seen outside the office alone.

BRANDA'S POV

I know my Boss, he was already fumbling. I needed to help him out. I mean that is why I'm his assistant.

While on the road I started a conversation.

"Chief, do you remember it is against the park rule for the boys to accompany us?"

"coupled with the fact that our identities would have been revealed at the end of the day, and it would have cost us to lose our jobs.?"

Chief was just looking at me and noodling his head.

" Thank you very much," he replied.

BRYAN'S POV

Yes! This enthronement party is different from others I know, the park was not different from its normal setting.

No music is played nor are the cooks busy, everyone is just seated at a corner discussing what I don't care to know.

This is my tenure and no food nor resources will be wasted, unlike my father that gave out everything of free will.

He made it look like his park was a free town where everything was free.

Only the garden is officially arranged with six chairs, two for me and my wife the would-be Luna Debi, two for Alpha Zoda and his accompanier, and two for my chief security and cook.

They are no guests except for

my most important guest Alpha Zoda who is not here yet.

It is just me and my park members

I so needed him to give me his right hand of authority and made his final pronouncement.

The people are all seated in the garden. I stood up to track my mobile device network to connect with Alpha Zoda but then I spotted him dressed up in military wear with a woman dressed in black.

"Finally, he is here'' I smile and return to my seat

ALPHA ZODA'S POV

I arrived early enough but was convinced I'm at the wrong venue.

The music was not heard, no aroma of food from the kitchen, no jubilation sound.

The park is as calm as a cemetery, from the look of things one could easily vow nothing is going on there.

I walked into the building only to see the park the way it was. Though I'm a first-timer, I could equally tell when the setting of a park changed.

I was about to walk into the main building when I saw Bryan.

" Come to the garden alpha, the enthronement will be here." He said.

I turned to my PA and our eyes meet.

"Branda what is supposed to be the type of Enthronement party hosted in the garden with six chairs?."

"This I must confess is not a good start."

We trekked into the garden.

BRANDA'S POV

The so-called garden event center was disappointing.

"Everything is so disorganized chief, I thought you said he was a son of a learned man."

He became disappointed and bent down his face placing it on his knees.

The next time he raises his face is when he was called to make the pronouncement and give his right hand to the new Alpha.

ALPHA ZODA'S POV

The question from my PA got me so confused.

How could he be so stingy to have done this?

I was engulfed with thoughts that I unknowingly bent my face to my knees and was brought back to my senses when I was called for the enthronement.

"Chief, chief, your attention is needed." Said my PA.

BRYAN'S POV

I know Alpha Zoda is disappointed, but this is my park and I do what pleases me never again will there be a government like that of my father.

I called him here for a purpose he should only concentrate on what he was called for.

He sluggishly stood up from his seat. Look me in the face before making his pronouncement.

ALPHA ZODA'S POV

I'm already here and I can't say no to pronouncing him the new Alpha.

I hold his hands with my right hand look him in the eyes and place my left hand on his hand.

" From this day henceforth, Bryan Quarah, I pronounce you the new Alpha of this park and also give you my right-hand fellowship.

With the same power vested in me, I pronounced your wife___.

"What's her name please." He asked

"Debi."

"Your wife Debi is the new Luna of this park."

No one clapped except his wife.

All the park members were just folding their hands into their arms.

BRYAN'S POV

Imagine being enthroned and no one except my wife clapped for my achievement.

I've lived all my life for this. Acted obedient and calmly to actualize this and now?

Nobody dares with the new Alpha.

ALPHA ZODA'S POV

I knew something serious was about to happen. And I wasn't ready for any. I stole a glance at my PA and she understood, picked up my bag, and followed me.

"Goodbye Alpha Bryan" I wave to him.

But he overlooked wearing an angry face

We walked as fast as we could to the car. I was about to turn on the ignition when I heard a voice from behind

"Everyone Get on your knees."

LUNA DEBI'S POV

As a maid of the late Alpha Quarah's park I've been working hard, patiently and hopefully waiting for when I'll become the Luna of this park.

Because of these I have pretended to be the lady I'm not sweet caring and passionate.

Though it was against Alpha Bryan's will to take me as his mate, his father insisted because he thought I would make a good wife to his son.

And now I am the Luna, time to show them what I'm made of.

"If you know you are on your knees wherever you are, walk on then to the garden. I wouldn't entertain Luna I'm sorry I didn't hear you."

I sit to watch them knee walk to the garden. All of them wearing surprise and questionable looks.

I overlooked it.

" May I have all of you know that I'm the new Luna of this park and from this day onward ye shall all respect and address me as one irrespective of your ages."

"And for your refusal to clap nor be happy for our new achievement I shall soon pronounce the consequences."

All these while my mate was looking at me.

He never knew hatred runs in my veins.

"Really?" He asked.

"Meanwhile, you all heard her, do as she said." Said my mate

I was elated to see him stand by me.

ALPHA BRYAN'S POV

I thought she was that calm lively and gentle maid that every man wished to have as a mate.

Meanwhile, she is sternned and I think the best for my conceived plans.

I couldn't say no to her words with the park members when she is the Luna and must be respected.

They have all lived a luxurious live and now is the time for them to live as maids.

" To those that 've been living in the main building, go Inside there, park your things and relocate to the boys quarters."

"And to those who have been living in the boys quarters lying down on a family size bed, have an Ac in their rooms and light, go in there, disconnect the AC, the light and return the foams to get mats.

And one last thing, no one eats the same meal served for the Alpha and Luna. It is time to leave and serve as maids. Do we understand?"

"Yes! Alpha." They replied.

" What are you all waiting for."

" Get up and act as the Alpha said," says the luna.

I sheepishly smiles

"She is the perfect one for this journey ahead."

I walk inside the main building to inspect on the maids activities

And behold, none of them was seen in their rooms.

I became furious and raor like an angry lion.

JERRY'S POV

This is my 13 years of working in this park as a security guard. Even when I was a junior staff, I had never slept in the boy quarter. A whole chief security relocating to the boy quarter? it has never happened and it will not, not in my own time.

"Hasan, something must be done, this is not a good start."

"Tell all maids to be adamant to the Alpha command."

"But chief___"

"Shut up! Chief what!"

HASAN'S POV

I knew it was going to land us in a bigger trouble. But I couldn't object the chief command. I sent messages as I was commanded and all the maids adhere to his command.

We are seated under a shade foldings our arms into our Armpits

When the chief cook Toria broke the silent with a question.

TORIA'S POV

When ever it comes from the Chief security I'm always rest assure but not again in this tenure.

It barely three days since their enthronement and they seems to be so independent.

"Chief, don't you think we should just relocate to the boys quarters?"

"No! He wouldn't do anything." He immediately cut in.

" I wouldn't do anything," says a voice from behind.

ALPHA BRYAN POV

I've been hiding in a flower vase where I can hear whatever they say and no one can see me.

Now I know everyone is beginning to be afraid of me except the chief security.

I immediately surfaced and they were all shocked.

" Please we will relocate like you said we are sorry" they said.

With all of these Jerry didn't say anything neither did he kneel down he only stayed the way he was with his arms in his armpit, Sternly looking at me.

JERRY'S POV

I'm his elder and I'm not supposed to be a slave to him.

I don't know why I wasn't afraid of him like others. I only maintained my position and fixed my eyes on him.

I starting speaking without knowing when and how

"Alpha, we were so elated when we heard we will have you rule, direct and guide us but right now, we are disappointed, it's barely three days you were crowned as an Alpha but to us you've proven yourself less. I'm sorry to say this, but even your father is disappointed in___"

"Shut up!, enough!

I will not have you insult me again"

"One more word from you, you will be used as a sacrificial lamb. He said.

"Ooh... what the H..l!"

I would have known better

I immediately fall on my knees and plead

"I'm sorry Alpha."

"May my words be overlooked, I beg thee."

All eyes where on me

LUNA DEBI'S POV

I've been moving around the building checking every corner of the building yet I couldn't find my mate nor the maids.

I decided to check the garden. Maybe he will be there playing with the flowers but he wasn't.

I became worried.

"Where could they have gone to?"

I could hear voices at the back of the garden.though I doubted the voices, I decided to check out.

Behold all maids where there all on their knees and the chief security pleading.

"What is going on here.?"

No one answered.

"What is going on here? I asked again"

No one answered still.

"Calm down, I will handle this." says my mate

"But before Alpha, may I bring to their knowledge that they will be starved for three days in this park. Maybe from there we will know who theAlpha and Luna are."

ALPHA BRYAN'S POV

I so loved the energy from Luna .

"And so must it be."

"Arise and act as we have commanded.

" If you all must know, this is just the preamble."

I looked at my mate and we both smiled and walked into the house.

JERRY'S POV

It is already 8pm in the evening and since In the morning no one had left nor entered the park, not even a visitor. This is very unusual.

We are done packing into the new boys quarters and some with AC and light have disconnected them as was commanded.

I'm seated on a mat with my friend Hasan. Who has been supporting his forehead with his two palms, looking very devastated.

" Hasan."

He raises his face

" No food for us tomorrow and the next two days to come. I'm sure you know what Alpha Bryan said."

We need to catch some sleep. No one can tell what awaits us Tomorrow.

HASAN'S POV

To say that I was beginning to make sense to Bryan when he was yet to be crowned an alpha is a folktale I can't tell anymore.

Aside from his mate and his late father, I've always been his right hand man.

My case is different from the other maids, the memories of the secret we shared, the atrocities we committed together torments my memories.

All of these I agreed to commune for a time like this but the Hand of the clock ticks against me.

"Jerry, aside from no food, no one can really tell tomorrow's version of their acts."

"Goodnight"

I laid on the mat supporting my head with my hand struggling to catch some sleep.

TORIA'S POV

I couldn't believe my eyes, so Luna Debi had been pretending.

I wouldn't forget the countless times he begged me to cook for his late father in-law on her behalf.

If she wasn't to be kind to me for anything else but for the meals which contribute to securing a Luna place for her in this park.

This is truly what she is made of.

So ungrateful.

I looked at the rooms and the other maids were already fast asleep.

"OhToria..What will become of tomorrow."

TORIA'S POV

I couldn't sleep well last night. I tossed around the mat before I finally dossed off.

It is morning and the waking up bell from security wakes me up.

I've been on this mat for what seems like an hour trying to carry myself but my joints are making me look as if I slept crippled.

The packing I did yesterday and the mat I slept on I know are at work.

I decided to stay back and maybe have some rest since no cooking nor morning work will be done apart from the sweeping and washing of dishes which is not my duty but then I remember the words of the Alpha " this is just the preamble."

If yesterday was the preamble then something bigger and terrible awaits us today.

I turn my eyes to the wall clock.

"What the f..k!. 10 am?."

I managed myself off the mat, changed my Nighties, and headed out of the room.

I decided to check on the other Maids before going into the main building but their doors are all locked from the outside even Jerry's doors the chief security

"What is going on?"

"What has the Alpha done this time?"

I became curious due to my unanswered questions and at the same time afraid of what may befall me.

As I walked closer to the main building I could hear voices arguing about what I can't tell.

I decided to eavesdrop.

ALPHA BRYAN'S POV

The thought of what happened yesterday. How they obeyed my command and how they begged for help, especially Mr. Jerry, who had proved to be stubborn, and decided to bow to my power coupled with my mate's support and contribution towards my actions triggered my morning happiness.

I woke up with full strength ready to face the day.

I needed not to tell them to avail themselves in the living room but they did except for Mrs. Toria who for some unknown reason is not here.

I could spot my Luna sitting in the Dining with a plate of popcorn and a chilled glass of fruit juice.

She is about to take some popcorn into her mouth, when I stopped her, though I'm not a fan of popcorn I needed the maids to feel the love bond I searched with my Luna but she disappointedly changed it

*What kind of Luna eats without her husband?"

She looked in surprise, I could tell she never thought I would quickly turn into a popcorn lover.

"No, tell me, are you supposed to-."

LUNA DEBI'S POV

I know my mate can be funny but right now I don't think that's exactly what he is trying to do. I can't sit here and watch him insult me in the presence of these piggy maids.

"Popcorn? No, wait when did you start being a popcorn lover? Ok, today you see me with one Or?."

"Enough! Enough, of what you are trying to do you can have all the popcorn to yourself. Meanwhile, your food is already served."

I could hear murmuring from the maids.

I turned to them with a deathly eye and stood up, pushed him aside and forcefully climbed the stairs.

"Ah! Luna, I didn't mean it__'' before he could finish I exit the room.

JERRY'S POV

I would have loved to say something or maybe laugh.

The Alpha intended to make us feel jealous and rejected but right now the reverse is the case.

I turned my eye to the other maids and our eyes met.

None of us was able to say something except Toria who cleared her throat and brought him back to his senses.

"Enough of your insults, Toria!" He said.

TORIA'S POV

I've been eavesdropping for what seems like minutes.

The argument wasn't a good one.

The Alpha was left stuck and confused

I decided to utilize the opportunity.

I tiptoed into the house, sat down, and cleared my throat.

Unfortunately for me, it didn't turn out well.

"If you wish to trigger the devil in me then all of you, especially You Toria must regret." He said pointing his finger at me.

The room was as silent as a graveyard with all the maids wearing teary eyes.

I adjusted myself on the chair as if nothing happened.

First time in my life I didn't feel threatened. I don't know where the courage came from.

ALPHA BRYAN'S POV

I've had enough of the drama already.

I needed to proceed to what these annoying maids here came for.

"I will pretend as if all of that didn't happen coupled with the fact that Toria intentionally decided to come late tempting and bartering with my authority.''

" In case you don't know, today I want to let you know that the rules of the park have been reviewed or would I say the existing rules have been changed and we have a new one."

I could see the looks on their faces, some of them their hands were in their armpits and some of their faces were covered with their hands.

" We are going to start with rule one which says: All maids are to be paid the same amount of money irrespective of their duties being Eighty thousand naira.

The reviewed rule says: All maids will be paid Thirty-five thousand naira irrespective of their duties except the chief security and the chief cook which are to be paid Forty thousand naira."

"Ah! Nooo, that's too small now, how are we going to feed our families and take care of ourselves, " said Jerry.

I pretended to be deaf to their words and proceeded

"Rule two: every Friday of the week and last days of the month is the social gathering, all the maids are expected to bring their family members to dine and whine with the Alpha.

The reviewed rule: every friend of the week and the last days of the month are just like other days. All workers are expected to concentrate on their duties.

Rule three says: All maids must be found dressed in their uniforms occasionally.

Revives rule: All maids must be dressed in their uniforms every day as there will be no acceptance of multi-colored dresses among the maids, failure to do so, and failure to be paid.

"Eh!" They chorus.

"Yes!, Two more of the rules and we are done with."

Rule four: The Alpha's bedroom should be clean and taken care of by Luna.

Revived rule: The Alpha's bedroom should be clean and taken care of by Doris.

"Yes!" She said smiling sheepishly

"What!" Says the luna.

LUNA DEBI'S POV

Unknowninly to him and the maids, I've been standing in between the living room and the stairs leading to my mate's bedroom.

I've heard all the amended rules and nothing was wrong with them, except the fourth one.

How could a maid clean and care for my mate's bedroom, I mean who does that?

"Dear Alpha, you know that is quite impossible, I mean I am and always will be in charge of your bedroom. If you insist she cleans and cares, she must be your new laundry."

"Doris, I wholeheartedly object to such rules, and besides you should know better than accepting to care for a man's bedroom whose beautiful and attractive and sexy wife is alive."

"Are you done talking?" Said the Alpha.

"Yes! There is nothing to amend in rule four."

DORIS POV

I've known the Alpha to always have eyes for me and I've always wished for the day I will be closer to him.

He is very Handsome, with dark curly hair and a pointed nose that fits his round face with blue eyes. He is just my dream man. Luna Debi was just lucky to have him as his mate.

Out of joy, I couldn't wait for him to finish up with the amended rule.

I quickly jumped in

"Yes!, I mean yes..."

All eyes were on me.

ALPHA BRYAN'S POV

Neither of the maids nor my wife could stand against this particular rule.

In as much as the person involved is not against it, I must reassure them the rule stands.

" Ok, like I said rule four stands, Debi your work starts immediately after we leave this place."

I stole a glance at my wife and she wore a deathly look, looking into Doris' eyes who was already busy smiling that she didn't notice her.

"Ok, that will be the end for now. You can all retire and respect the amended rules."

I turn myself to go but I'm held back by a question, an annoying one.

"Alpha please we've listened to your amended rules and we vow to respect them, said Mr. Jerry.

Exactly, what I needed to hear from them.

I smiled at his words

"Can I now go?"

"No, please he said"

JERRY'S POV

We never had issues with other rules except for rule one, from Eighty thousand to thirty-five and forty thousand?. No! It is pretty bad.

I started with reassuring words to make him happy and it sure did

But then, I proceeded to say our minds

"Alpha, may I beseech thee to reconsider our payment as it is very small to Carter for our needs? Plea___."

"Shout up!, Just shout that gutter you called mouth up. Let me advise you if you can't deal with the changes you can as well reject them but quitting is never an option. Deal with it!" Said the Alpha.

We all looked at ourselves and our eyes met.

"Ok, we've heard you."

He was about to climb the stairs when there was a knock on the door and he decided to stay back.

With an angry tune "Come in," he said.

ALPHA BRYAN'S POV

I never expected any visitors. But right now there is a man I've known to make letter deliveries in my house. Maybe he misses the address.

"I know you very well, but who sent you?"

" I'm sorry sir, the person chosen to be anonymous, maybe you will get to see the sender's address when you open the letter." He said.

Then drop the letter and go.

"Get out all of you."

I curiously and slowly open the letter and boldly it is written.

"A CALLED TO ORDER."
