In the heart of Willowbrook, Sophia struggled with her trolley bag which had hooked in to a broken brick.
It has been more than five minutes she was stocked there but no one dared to help her.
Maybe they didn't recognize her or Maybe they too heard the negative things said about her.
People passed her by, not willing to help even when she called for help.
Just her first time of stepping in to Willowbrook after Two years was already a disaster.
Who knows what would happen next, or what would become of her in that city?
If not for her Grandma's funeral, what could have brought her back in to that city?
Sophia cursed under her breath. She that was seen as a prominent person in that city was the one being igignored?
She wouldn't say her appearance had changed. Nothing changed in her body , she was still as Pretty as she was back then.
Even more pretty. They just didn't want to help her.
Suddenly, a horn blared beside her. She didn't discover she was standing in the middle of the road until the car horn at her.
Sophia's Heart skipped a beat. How did she not know she was standing on the road?
" Oh my Goodness!" She exclaimed, trying to pull out the trolley but it wouldn't come off.
" Are you deaf!" Someone hollered at her from the car.
She wasn't deaf so, she didn't care to look who it was.
What was the use? It wasn't like the person was going to help her out.
So, it was better she concentrate on what she was doing and leave.
But instead of ignoring her like she did, He came down from the car and grabbed her wrist.
" What's wrong with you? Didn't you hear me talking to you?" His voice was so aggressive that it made her remembered her ex husband.
That dude turned in to a monster just one night and sent her parking.
Who does that? She thought they were going to live happily for the rest of their lives.
Even when people tried to brainwash him that she was going to suck him dry, He ignored them.
But just one night, he believed all their sayings and divorced her.
" I won't tolerate you talking to me this way, Mr. Man!" She snapped at him.
" Didn't you see that I am stock here? What would I have been doing here if not for this? Do you think I am a little girl to just stand in the middle of the road to get killed?" she flung her hand away from him.
Sophia returned back to what she was doing, ignoring the man's Insult.
If only he knew who she was, then he wouldn't have been speaking to her that way.
Even though she was no longer with her Billionaire husband, Her family was well known in that city and beyond.
They were the Liam's and she, The heiress to the Liam's .
If not for her stupidity for Love, she wouldn't have abandoned her family to live with another man they didn't approved of.
She turned down her parents Proposal to marry another man for Caleb.
But look what he turned her in to. If only she listened to her parents, then that wouldn't have happened to her.
Finally, The trolley came out when she used force and she heaved a sigh of relief.
" This stupid thing!" She kicked the bag, Almost making herself fall.
" Now get out of my way, Old hag!" She moved her head to each side as she spoke to him.
The Guy stepped out of her way, wondering the kind of person Sophia was to not fear him..
He wasn't just an ordinary guy, he was big , fat with broad shoulders and scary face.
But she didn't show any sign of fears. That made him question if he was still the same or not.
" I hate this city already. Why would they have to call me back? I told them not to invite me for any occasion anymore" She slowed down a taxi and hoped in..
" To the Liam's" She instructed the Taxi driver.
But she caught the guy staring at her in the mirror. Sophia didn't know why he was looking at her that way.
But she believed he too was looking down on her. Maybe he thought she wasn't fit to go to the Liam's household.
Sophia sighed, she was already tired from all that and just needed a good rest.
She rested her head on the headrest and closed her eyes.
When the car came to a halt, the driver announced to her they were already there.
She came down from the car, paid him his Money and made her way to the gate.
But the driver didn't leave yet, He wanted to know if she was going to be allowed in to the house or not.
But the way the security men at the gate treated her, he was convinced she must be an important person.
" Young Madam is back!" the Servants started announcing to each other and they didn't waste time coming out from where they were.
Sophia hissed in her head. That was the kind of treatment she didn't like and ended up marrying Caleb.
She thought marrying her parent's Proposal would only send her in to lifetime of being worshiped by her fellow humans.
The servants voice might have woke her parents who were in their rooms and they too, showed up in the extra large living room.
" Do you need anything, Young madam?" one of the girls asked her.
" I'll go prepare an hot bath for you, young madam" Another one said.
They all took turn, saying different things one after the other.
Others took her bag, While others took off her shoes.
Sophia didn't interrupt them, she needed all they were saying.
If there was a machine that they would throw her in to just to be Washed, She would have requested they do that.
Clink! Clank!
No one has to tell her who that was because her Mum's shoes were the only things that makes that sounds.
" You are finally back" her Mum scoffed, folding her hands.
" We thought you won't step your foot in to this house anymore, Sophia" She sneered.
Sophia sighed Inside. Her eyes were closed so, she didn't see her parents that were standing in front of her.
Because she didn't want to get more Angrier, Sophia stood up from the fine leather sofa and glanced at them one after the other.
" You called me back. You know I wouldn't have come on my own will"
She walked away leaving her Mum in awe.
While sitting on the back seat of the Black Rolls-Royce boat tail, Caleb saw all that was happening in front of him.
That young lady when he looked closer, it was Sophia his ex wife.
Since the day he sent her out of his house, he has never set an eye on her until that day.
And what surprised him the most was, the Sophia he knew never exchanged words with anyone.
But the one in front of his car was exchanging words with the most feared guy among his body Guards.
What has happened to her wherever she went? Caleb was confused.
Maybe she went through a mental breakdown and it affected her mental health.
But she didn't look like she was sick, She looked more healthier than himself.
But the way she was speaking, it was so aggressive that she could pounce on the guy.
" Wow!" He exclaimed under his breath.
He didn't expect her to be like that. The last time he saw her, she was pretty. But she looked more prettier now that he saw her again after two years.
What was he even thinking? Admiring the woman he Divorced after what she did to him?
He was still recovering from the trauma she pushed him in to. His Company hasn't been the same ever since then.
And he was still bringing it back from scratch.
His company that was once the one talk of the city, The one that every Business Tycoons wanted to partner with was brought down by just a woman.
He should have listened to people from the first place and get rid of her from his life.
All that wouldn't have happened to him. But he turned a deaf ear because of love.
Caleb frowned his brows when he saw her leaving there.
He watched her slowed down a taxi and hoped in.
The way his blood was boiling in rage, he wanted to order the driver to follow the taxi so he would unleash his anger on her but remembered his Company should come first.
Since she was back in the city, They'll cross paths again.
" Move!" He commanded the driver who was still waiting there even though there was no traffic in front of them.
The only traffic there has already left , which was Sophia.
" Mr. Harper, isn't that Your wife we saw on our way coming to the company?" His Assistant, who was in the car behind him asked.
Caleb didn't know how his Assistant managed to see Sophia from the back car.
" You know, I came down from the car immediately your car stopped. I thought something was wrong." He cleared his throat.
" Mr. Harper?" he went on.
" Ms. Sophia look more prettier than before. Don't you think so? And I wonder where she has been for the past two years. Do you think she's back to confess what she did?" He picked up a file from the desk.
Caleb didn't say a word. What was he going to say to his Assistant that speaks like a parrot?
Maybe he already forgot, But Sophia was no longer his wife.
" I think you should summon Ms. Sophia here, Mr. Harper. She must tell you what she did with the documents"
Caleb Tightened his eyes. Summon Sophia to his office? Was his Assistant dreaming or what?
" You must be out of your mind!" Caleb slapped the desk sending the Assistant in shivers.
" I... I'm so sorry Mr. Harper. I didn't mean to upset you" He bowed his head and hurried out of the office.
Caleb bit his tongue angrily. Just by remembering her name, His Blood boils.
And why would he invite the Betrayer in to his office? That girl really got him.
" She made me fall in love with her then she betrayed me!" He slapped the desk again In anger.
What did she do with his document? He wanted to know for the past two years because his company hasn't been the same again.
And worse, Her Father's Company was now the Talk of the City and beyond not his again.
People no longer treat him as the CEO of HARPER'S GROUP anymore, they now see him as just a rich guy in the city.
And all that was because of Sophia.
" I won't rest, I'll see to it that Her Father's Company come down as well"
Caleb believed that Sophia might have conspired with her Dad to get his company down.
She didn't even stay in the city for a day, she left as soon as he made her signed the divorce papers and sent her out of his House.
" I'll get you, Sophia" He clenched his fingers in to a fist.
Still in that state, The Office's door opened and a young petit lady walked in.
As she walked, Her hips swayed to the other side.
She was a beauty in disguise, but not as beautiful as Sophia.
In her hands, she held the latest limited edition Crystal purse which was a match to her black shoes.
" Caleb?" Her voice was so tiny and she spoke in a calm soothing voice with an hint of innocence.
" What's wrong, Caleb? Do not tell me you are still thinking about that woman"
She dropped her purse on the desk quietly and went behind him.
" I already told you, Caleb. Do not over think yourself, That woman won't go away with this, I promise you" She wrapped her arms around his neck.
" I'm always here for you and I'll see to it that we bring back this company to the way it was. Trust me, Caleb" she caressed his cheeks.
Caleb sighed, He turned his swivel chair backward, facing her.
" I know, Sheila. You have been here for me for as long as I can remember and I believe you will help bring back my company" He smiled at her.
Sheila twisted her curvy waist and lowered her herself until she was looking straight in to his eyes.
" Thank you for trusting in me, Caleb" She pressed his lips with a finger before pressing her lips on it.
Caleb returned the kiss and she allowed herself fell on him.
At the funeral, Sophia tried as much as she could to stay away from the people's sight.
But everyone wanted to see her, to even talk to her and to congratulate her for returning back to her family.
Yes, Sophia has always ran away from home even as a teenager because she wanted to live a free life.
She didn't want to be treated as an important person by anyone.
She needed a life of a commoner, Just like her Friends from average homes.
In her run, She met Caleb and they fell in love. He only got to discover that she was from the Liam's Few weeks in to their relationship.
Which was what people didn't know. That was why they warned him to stay away from her as she was going to suck him dry.
Sophia finally became free after people started departing one after the other.
She was now alone on the balcony of the Funeral home, envisioning her life in the next year.
She didn't hear a footstep behind her and was startled by a touch on her shoulder.
" Oh Goodness!" She was so startled but frowned as soon as her eyes met with the person that startled her.
Standing in front of her was a young Man dressed in a black leather suit just like the type every man present in her Grandmother's Funeral worn.
" You startled me, Noah" She compressed her lips, showing her displeasure to what he did.
Noah, as she called him chuckled slowly. He walked beside her and to her back then hugged her from behind.
" Sophia, I missed you so much!" He rested his head on her shoulder, acting like a little Boy who has just seen his Mummy after years.
" Get off of me, You little punk!" She shrugged his head off of her shoulder.
They both started laughing at the same time after Noah raised his head from her shoulder.
Sophia hugged him tightly and pecked him on the cheek.
Noah Dominic, Her childhood friend and also her cousin from her Mum's side.
While growing up, People thought those two were in love and always referred to them as husband and wife.
But that wasn't the case, they just loved each other so much as Cousins and were inseparable.
" You are finally back, Girly. I missed you so much" Noah swept the hair on her forehead to one side.
" I missed you too, Noah" She let out a deep sigh.
Noah understood that. She felt sad for not telling him she was leaving the city.
She only told him over the phone that She and Caleb got Divorced.
And where she went after that, Only she knew.
" Don't worry, Girly. That's in the past now. The best thing is, You are back to us" He held her hand.
Sophia nodded her head. If there was anyone that Understood her and comfort her the most, then that was Noah.
" That bastard!" Noah clenched his fist but that made Sophia laughed.
She could imagine how he reacted when she gave him the bad news that Caleb divorced her.
Anything that would hurt her or made her angry, Noah was always against it.
But because he saw that the two were Deeply in love with each other, he didn't say no to their marriage.
" You know what I am going to do to him whenever I set my eyes on him" Sophia shook her head.
" Do not worry yourself, Noah. I've left that in the past now. And I'm so happy that he divorced me. Look at me now, I don't look like Sophia who was running after Love two years ago" She giggled.
Noah nodded his head. She was right. She didn't look like a weirdo , she looked more responsible and even more prettier.
" Excuse me, Noah, I need to use the restroom" She said, Handing over her purse to Noah.
" The city has turned in to a bad place ever since you left. It's already night, be careful there so we would go home safely" He winked at her.
Sophia giggled all the way down the Stairs.
That was how her Ex husband cared for her two years ago. He wouldn't let her be alone whenever they were outside.
As Sophia Hurried through the many chairs with people sitting on it, Caleb and Sheila sat among one of the tables.
Caleb didn't see her, But Sheila did.
Her heart sank when she saw Sophia. She thought she was out of the city for good.
How was she back to the city? When did she returned and what was she doing there?
Did she knew that Caleb would be going there and she also went to seduce him?
Sheila was so confused as she watched Sophia entered one of the doors leading to the restrooms.
" Are you alright?" Caleb asked, wiping his mouth with a tissue.
" Uhm yes, I'm good" She smiled.
But Sheila wasn't good as she had said. She was good minutes ago before she saw Sophia.
And if Sophia should return back, Caleb was going to see her which wasn't a good thing for her.
" Caleb dear, Excuse me please. I need to use the restroom" She left the table before Caleb would say anything.
And immediately Sophia stepped out of the restroom to wash her hands, She heard a voice.
" Who knew that Liam's married off their daughter to Caleb to steal the secret to his Company's Success?"
Sophia Turned from left to right but didn't see who was speaking.
She became so terrified. Was that the restroom's Ghost making fun of her?
" W... who are you?" Her voice broke and she gulped down.
Sheila started laughing from where she hid and she came out with her devilish look.
" Oh it's you" Sophia patted her chest.
" Yes, it's me. When did you return, Sophia? Do not tell me you are here because of Caleb?" She stepped forward.
" Why don't you go back to where you are coming from? I mean, it's just been only two years that you left. You shouldn't have come back now"
As she spoke, All the memories of that night kept flashing back in to her head.
Sheila was there when Caleb was forcing her to sign the papers.
She hung un to his hand, cuddling him like he was her husband.
And when she was thrown out by Caleb, Sheila followed her and made a mock of her.
No, she would never forget that day and the things Sheila said to her.
