"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride," the priest announced while everybody clapped happily.
Paige Adams, who is still trapped in a trance from the sharp drug she was poisoned with, which made her dizzy, slowly opened her eyes and got shocked to see she was not in her original hangout.
She was standing in front of lots of people, wearing a wedding dress, and looking at the man who had dared to trick her into marrying him.
It was none other than the man who proposed to her when they were in college, Sam, and her shameless, ungrateful family!
"I have an objection!" She stood on her ground and made her voice loud enough to be heard. She threw off the veil and rubbed off her makeup.
Her words madeeeveryonef everyone seated presently in the venue stare at each other in a confused manner. Her aunt, Adams Belinda, stood up from amongst the crowd.
"Paige Adams! You are the bride, you have no objection!" She tried to hush her husband's niece from interfering with the wedding ceremony.
Paige Adams smiled at her with utmost mockery, took a glimpse, and perhaps, had an idea of what was going on!
Before this occurred, she was in a club, drinking and twerking and now, she is in a wedding dress getting married to her college classmate, Sam.
Her guesses were probably correct. She was drugged and forced to marry her smelling classmate without her consent! Paige Adams maintained an evil grin on her cheeks and swiped the microphone off the priest's hand.
"Woah! Can you all imagine that I was drugged and dragged here to get married to an old fogey?" Paige Adams threw her question openly especially to someone she despised so much, her uncle, her aunty and bitchy niece.
From the day her parents were confirmed dead in a car accident, Paige Adams was made to live with her father's brother, Adams Ivan, who not only made life difficult for her but tried to sell her off to some old ugly rich men.
"Paige Adams, I am doing this for your oath!" The aunt tried to defend herself while making a pleading look at the man standing there, receiving all the insults.
"My o'causood? Then you might as well marry him, because I am leaving!" Paige Adams tore off the long wedding gown into a short mini gown and jumped off the stage to the chairs occupied by the audience.
She removed the hair decorations knitted on her head and chortled maniacally.
"Catch her! Do not let her escape!" Her uncle yelled as the hefty security guards came in, forming a huge human barrier around the exit.
"It has been long since I have had a good fight. Time to try out my skills." She jerked on top of one of the guard's heels and kicked him in the face. He yelled in pain, giving her more distractions so her could run.
The audience was surprised to see the other side of the person their colleague claimed to be normal. She had mental issues!
Paige Adams cared less about embarrassing herself and cared more about escaping from her uncle's evil plan of rotting her off.
She was not going to allow herself to be sold to some old fogey all in the name of money and family relationship.
Paige Adams climbed the window, having spotted her runaway vehicle, folded her arms tightly against her shoulders, and fell backwards.
They all gasped as she fell through theten-story Maybachy building and when they heard a banging sound, everyone looked to see if she was still okay and alive. They sighed frustratedly and rolled their eyes. Paige was very much alive after that fall and had landed on a blue bean bag.
She stood up from the soft bag on the floor and kept running. Throwing open a car parked at the entrance of the venue-a Maybach car, to be precise-hijacked it and started the car
She shut the door tightly, took a deep breath, turned the key in its hole, stepped on the brakes immediately, and drove madly, not knowing there was someone in the car. Her mind was so focused on escaping from them that she did not notice the masculine figure seated on the chair at the back of the car.
Her uncle, Ivan, also did not hesitate to enter his car and drive after his niece. Paige Adams stepped on the brake with force, drifting the car into a crowded parking lot to avoid him.
The car shrieked with a loud noise as it kept driving with force. She adjusted the side mirror and gasped when she saw a man seated in the back seat with black sunglasses on his eyes.
His suit spelt rich and expensive as it was made with the latest, and most expensive animal fur in the world.
Paige Adams was not given a chance to explain when she heard his voice. She gulped and gazed at him through the mirror
"Who are you?" A male voice was heard in the car.
"I should be asking you! This is my car! Why are you sitting in it?" Paige Adams also threw the question back at him.
Her friend planned everything forehand and a smooth escape was her aim in the end. She swore she had memorized the car number before jumping into it, yet, this man claimed it was his car.
"I guess you are mistaken, Miss. This is my car and you are going to be sued for theft if you do not drive it back " He was not interested in exchanging pleasantries with the thief in a wedding gown, and retorted with a rude voice.
This girl was obviously a thief with an arrogant attitude. He hated the kind of people who possessed such terrible behaviors.
"Sue me? Ahhh!" Paige Adams chuckled and waved her hand across his face. "I am Paige Adams, the daughter of the Adams'. If you have any problems with me, then fuck yourself!"
She lashed out on him. Her late father was the most respectful human being, with billions of properties surfaced around the entire world leaving her only the heir to those properties.
"You think I cannot sue you just because you are one of the Adams'?" He asked once more to see whether she would change her tone.
Unknown to him, she was not even ready to be more polite with him, Paige Adams looked at him and chuckled more.
"You are blind right?"
"I might be blind but not deaf!" He shot back at her while his glasses fell off.
Paige Adams gasped. She had seen this man's face from somewhere-maybe the media or something-but could not recognise him.
"You have got a sassy attitude for a blind man!" She twirled the car's steering wheel and avoided the huge crash into a building.
The car drifted to the left and crashed into a small wooden fruit shop. Paige Adams hopped to the back seat and held the blind man from the crash.
The Car banged into the wooden fruit shop and smoke started to come out from the bonnet.
His secretary, who also chased after the stolen car on foot, saw the accident and ran to help the boss.
He tore the door off with both his hands and widened his eyes.
A woman was on top of his boss. He smashed his fingers together and kept a pleading look.
He had a guess that this was definitely the girl who ran away from her own wedding-a psycho for that matter-and now she was on top of him. He was very sure that he would lose his job this instant; it only took a matter of seconds.
Paige Adams kicked the door that was beside her open and came down from the Maybach, blew a kiss towards the man and ran off down the street.
"Boss, I can explain; I do not know who she is or where she came from. " Morris Hayden quickly defended himself.
He parked the car with its doors unlocked and had gone inside the venue to complain about the invitation given to them previously.
Last week, they had trouble with the mailing system and instead of getting mail for a business party, they were given one to a wedding ceremony of a person they never knew.
He pulled open the car handle and came down. He smelt smoke from the bonnet and knew that they were not going to be able to fix this car.
"Get me the information of that girl, Paige Adams."
"Boss? Her?" He asked again, surprised. He heard that the Adams' were crazy, and most of all, their children were psycho, especially the young heiress, Paige Adams.
"Let me not repeat my statement again." He fiercely replied while dialling a taxi number. This girl did have guts to steal his car, yet she left him insulted.
For her to be this bold meant she did not fear what he could do! That girl is obviously too daring.
In the Adams' mansion.
Her aunt paced around the room as the newspaper and her phone were tightly clenched in her palms. Paige Adams' psycho behaviour became the hottest trending topic with many hashtags in just a few minutes.
The Adams', at last, came to the conclusion that they should have their hidden niece introduced as the Adams' second daughter to the public, and in return, she brought nothing but shame to them fast.
Her uncle, Ivan, massaged his temples exhaustedly, sat on the dining chair, and remained frozen. He was not at peace at all.
His name was ranking highly on Weibo and on most media websites. Half his business deals were cancelled instantly due to the rude and unacceptable comments present on the internet.
"Where is that devil?! Why has she not returned?!" He impatiently let his fury out on his wife. She returned to him with a mocking expression and turned her back on him, dialling several of her friends' numbers.
This child is just a devil sent from hell. In her twenties, she was still childish and ignorant, and on top of her empty brain, she was arrogant!
The door's handle was pulled open by one of the servants as Paige Adams walked inside, well dressed, into the dining room. She sat on the last seat at the table and spoke up.
"How was my behaviour? Quite nice, right?" Paige Adams made her words and voice filled with nothing but sarcasm.
Her uncle could not take her arrogant, stupid attitude and banged the table with his hands. He pointed towards her and lashed out on her.
"Are you well satisfied with the result?! Congratulations! " He yelled furiously at her. Paige Adams had no comments on her face but only an annoying smile.
She moulded her face to the exact mood of her uncle and kept staring at them.
So they have the right to sell her off yet she does not have the right to not get married off without her permission?
"I thought this was all an act. Seriously, I did. Anyway, we can do more of this; I had lots of fun."
She cheerfully responded back and clapped her hands like a child.
Paige Adams had always been one who hid herself and talent for them to accept her, however, she was done hiding and from now on, was going to expose their evil deeds.
"Shut the fuck up! Take a look, the social media has you all over it. Photos and videos of you and your unruly behavior are trending now with so much crazy hastag. Do you enjoy bringing embarrassment to us?"
Adams Belinda added too.
The media took no pity on her, and continued uploading more videos of the wedding disaster adding more hilarious tags. Very few citizens were disgusted with her, while most of them were left in awe.
The day Mr. Adams finally introduced to them, his second daughter that was hidden for so long turned out to be the same day she came out famous.
Paige Adams read some comments in her mind and just laughed internally. This is the beginning of karma, she thought and definitely, she was not going to stop until they had gotten their rightful punishment whether they liked it or not.
"Look at the way she ran, so not lady like!"
"What kind of beast did the Adams' raise, I hope she does not corrupt our princess Alyssa ."
"Sometimes, I wonder if this is truly a human being "
"So cool. She looked so real like the new wonder lady. "
Paige Adams only giggled as she watched the video. No expressions appeared on her face while thinking internally.
Even a shock expression did not appear right on her face, like she had planned to do that.
"I didn't even know I could be this popular. Wow! My jump from the building is so cool. Who is this editor? I need to find him "
She did not even put any single care to why they summoned her and only made things worse with her mocking looks.
"You are very embarrassing! Can't you be more like your sister!" Her father roared back at her.
"Because she is not my sister!" She fumed. Was she stupid that at twenty three years old, she would not be able to differentiate her blood from fake shitty people?
She could not understand why they held onto her as a gem and still treated her like a piece of rag.
"Paige Adams! " He yelled with his voice at the top of his lungs.
"How long would you keep deceiving me? I am neither stupid nor a fool! You are not my blood father. You are just a child kidnapper!"
Paige also yelled back. After the accident, she landed up in the hospital with half her memories wiped off. She could not remember her surname nor how her parents looked.
Somehow, the Adams' came to her rescue and adopted her into the family, letting her take their surname.
From then, she became the hidden daughter, a shameful one that her adopted father refused to even present to the world.
"And so what if I am a kidnapper? What if I took you in?! Without me, you will not be living this kind of rich life!"
"Then I fuck such life, I fuck until it squirts out its cum!" She took her bag from the dining table and ran outside.
"Father, how long are we going to keep her here? She knows that she is not one of us, why still keep her?" Adams Alyssa questioned with jealousy in her words. Herself and her mother could not reason out the possible excuse to have her trained by the Adams'
She was not willing to be obedient and Alyssa had enough of her attitude. She was exhausted with having to pretend that liked her while deep down in her heart she wished for her to die, an ugly death for that matter.
"Honey, I hope that is not one of your illegitimate children from sleeping around with women! If not, then kick her out!"
"Can you use your brain for once? She is the reason for all this wealth. If I did not kidnap her, do you think we would be filthy rich? Once my master gives his command for her disposal then I can let go off her but not now " With that said, he calmed himself down and glared at the door where she had just passed through.
This girl was his ticket to an unending wealth and losing her was not the best option to offer.
...............
Paige Adams boarded a taxi and sat silently in the taxi. Taking her car would be risky considering she was going to see Mr. Adams' supposed dead wife.
When she was adopted by the Adams', she was used to seeing a lovely, young, polite and agile woman as his wife before this devilish one got married to him.
Paige Adams shut down every possible device they could use to track her recent movements and rested her head on the chair.
The drive went silent and soothing. She requested for a change of music, after a moment of thinking, the driver agreed to her request.
It did not take long before she reached a deserted area, she paid the taxi fare and came down. Her mask was raised up, her hands were tucked into her jeans as she walked into the hospital.
Showing her VIP card, she was allowed into the hospital and directed to the ICU unit where the woman she was longing to see was connected with tubes.
Paige Adams removed the mask and lowered the black sun shade down to her nose bridge. She took a look at the woman who laid silently with her two arms paralyzed and her legs too.
"Auntie, it is me, Paige Adams ." She called out with a touch of baby voice. The bad ass Paige had just turned into a lovely fellow with a kind heart.
She dropped the nylon bag of toiletries on the floor and helped open the curtains. She breathed in the hospital smell and felt cringed up.
Luckily, she had some money from her last job to fund the surgery of the woman. She strode to the bed, hung her limited edition purse on the fluffy couch and sat on the bed.
She held the fingers of the woman and sighed deeply. This woman staying here was her thick skinned uncle's wife who suddenly disappeared without a trace after being confirmed dead.
Paige Adams perhaps had a guess that she might have found his evil deed and tried to file for a divorce before she was shot and fell into a huge ocean.
This woman in a coma on the bed was her only ticket to exposing her uncle's bad deeds. It took half of the marine fighters to get her body out of the Fieli Ocean and surprisingly, her whole body parts were intact with no harm just that she was in coma for lots of years.
"Auntie Khloe, do wake up. I miss you " She caressed her wrinkles. The door opened as a doctor walked in.
He gave his pleasantries and took his daily check ups on Auntie Beatrice.
"What is the result? Any hope for her recovery?" She looked desperate at the doctor. He wore a pity look on his face while shaking his head.
It has been five good years since she was brought to this exact hospital, however, she showed no sign of recovery or even a slight movement.
She was just stagnant and not a slight response to the treatment. Even their best medical team seemed like quacks when dealing with her own case.
He laid his stethoscope on her chest and unplugged it from his ears. His sigh deepened further, as usual no heartbeats.
"I am sorry Miss Adams. I do not think her case is curable. For over five years, she has been receiving medications from the best American doctors we have and yet, no single heartbeat. I suggest you take her abroad. "
He gave his suggestions. Paige Adams took the doctor to her liking. At least he was not one of those who only prolonged their patient's disease just to rip people off their money. He had a sincere heart and took a liking to Auntie Khloe.
"So, she has no single response to the treatment? Why do you not try another way? She is very special to me and losing her is not an option. If it means spending all the dime in my account to keep her life, I will "
She replied with utmost confidence. She could not yet give up especially when the Adams' did not look happy with her new change and will find every way to get her off from their lives.
"I like your spirit, Miss Adams. For that, I think I can recommend this hospital to you. They specialize in this kind of case. I might discourage you from taking her there since they are quite expensive and a young lady like you will find it difficult paying off their bills "
He scribbled some addresses of hospitals and phone numbers on a piece of note, searched if no one was coming and handed over the note to her.
This was illegal in their hospital. Recommending abroad treatments to patients, so he had to be very careful about this.
"Thank you so much. I do not know how to repay you "
"You can do so by looking out for yourself. Presently, there is no urgent surgery so you can buy yourself some good things and enjoy life ."
Paige once again thanked him and even wanted to tip him but as always, he refused her kind gesture.
Once again, she wore her mask and sun shade back and left the hospital through the secret exit that was accessible to her only and no other visitors.
The same taxi which dropped her waited for her far away from the hospital. She entered the taxi and drove back.
Soon, she would be able to really know the cause and perpetrators of the death of her parents and why she was kept as a prisoner in her father's house.
Meanwhile.......
Somewhere overseas.
"Your eyes are all healed again. You can see from nowon ." The surgeon announced happily and removed the bandages on his eyes.
Calven Gray's eyes blinked again and he could finally see, finally.
It had been years since a tragic accident occurred that made him lose his sense of vision and deemed him blind but being able to see made him a lot happier.
"How do you feel being able to see?"
"It is normal. Normal I guess ." He murmured to himself. There was nothing special about his dream.
After a year of going through several eyes surgeries and therapies, he was able to regain his sight but something felt missing. The feeling of being able to see was not there, the feeling that he could not tell.
Maybe he was used to being blind for a whole of four years or even more. The door was pulled open by the Secretary as he brought in his finished task.
"It took you so long " Calven Gray took a mental note to deduct from his salary for this month.
He hated lazy workers and punished them by taking off from their salaries as a warning to them.
To work for him, they had to be agile always and not a slug.
"Sorry, boss. It is just that I had some complications while finding her information. Should I read it to you?"
"Do I still look blind to you?"Calven jokingly added. He could at last read his phone texts, contracts and documents without having any person read it out to him.
"Do I still look blind to you?" Calven jokingly added. He could at last read his phone texts, contracts and documents without having any person read it out to him.
"I am sorry. I really did not mean it " He bowed his head and apologized. Morris Hayden had worked for the boss for a couple of years and always knew that the boss was blind, and unable to see but that did not give him the audacity to cheat or rip off him.
Even with him losing his sense of vision, Calven Gray could hold and shoot a gun perfectly and he did not want to take any risk.
"Paige Adams?" He turned over to the next page and saw the woman's picture. She gave him a bad vibe.
She did have the structure of a female but an attitude of a spoilt male brat. All her pictures, he never found her wearing female clothing's, rather jeans and some boyish attire.
His interest grew more as he swiped through the last photo and went ahead with the real information.
"You have never heard of the beautiful but yet brutal princess of the Adams'? How come you have not heard of the name, Paige Adams "
His cousin, Gray Bryan added with a confused look. The social media was either flooded with news of Paige or her wedding disaster.
How come his cousin never saw or heard of that familiar name? In the whole of New York City (NY, City) she was crowned the most beautiful yet, no suitor went to her.
Her last suitor was chased away with a cutlass having half his clothes burnt, and since the news leaked out to everyone's ears, men would rather marry an ugly wife than approach her for fear of their lives. To him, she was queen of disaster and beauty.
"Is she that popular for her mischievous nature? I see her as very irritating. " He confessed.
After the car hijacking incident, he had felt this feeling of discomfort and somehow familiarity with her some place, moreover, it could be his imagination.
"She is the main target of mockery and most of her age mates tagged her a disgrace to womanhood. In her latest video, she blasted the citizens for having their fucking noses in her business and what was wrong with having a tattoo "
He turned on his phone and played the video for him.
"Hello you motherfuckers! I posted a picture with my new tattoo and you called me a disgrace. What the fuck is wrong with getting a tattoo?"
In most of Paige Adams' videos, she used foul languages and was happy to use them. She hated people's criticism a lot for her boyish behavior and also hypocrites.
"She is just this way. Uses foul words and makes everyone go against her in a second. She is not afraid of being herself " Bryan pauses the video, removed his glove and threw it in the garbage.
"Your dad keeps sending me incoming calls. When are you gonna visit him? I am tired of pretending to be you ."
Bryan washed his hands under the tap and grabbed an apple and peeled its red skin off. Though they were cousins, Bryan was deemed as a carbon copy of Calven and would normally help him deceive his father.
"That old man is so troublesome even during his old age. I thought if he grew older that he would become less annoying, but seems like I was really stupidly wrong ."
Calven stood up and went to the other room that had a mirror. The room was kept dark at all times. He turned on the light, closed the curtains and shut the entrance tightly.
Calven went to the mirror and stood in front of it. He could not see his face perfectly fine and only struggled to see half of his face.
Light from the window reflected on the mirror. Half of his face was seen but an additional shadow was added on the mirror.
A hairy side with bulging fangs and furs. Calven Gray reached out to break the mirror before his beast side was heard.
"Don't you dare!"
The voice sounded harsh as he redrew his hands from the mirror. The wolf's face could be seen on the side of the mirror.
He transformed back into a human and chuckled evilly. How could he try to destroy his savior? The one who saved his life?
Savior? Calven had an accident which made him loose his life once, however he got reincarnated again in the next life and shared a body with an ancient wolf.
Technically speaking, he was still alive because of the Wolf's soul in his body. His soul was nowhere to be found and could either be dead.
He agreed to share his body with the wolf on one condition that they would both have their time to shine. He could live perfectly as a human and under the night or full moon, the wolf could live as his own form.
"Why are you here? We agreed that you would only come out in the night "
He also said with a harsh tone too. He had severally warned him not to ever disrupt his human life but he simply ignored
"Woah! For a person who died and is alive because of me, you do sound too feisty. I am bored in this stupid body of yours. I want to come out ."
"If you are bored then go and sleep. Now it is in the daytime and there is no way I will let you come out now " Calven took the mirror in his arms and smashed it into two.
The mirror disappeared into dust after it was smashed. Calven composed himself once more and left the restroom.
"Get my plane ready, I am going back to New York"
"Now?" Hayden in shock questioned. Did they not just arrive ten minutes ago? Why were they leaving so fast?
"Don't forget, have more eye exercises and remember, they know you have lost your sight, so make sure it stays like that for now."
Bryan said with meanings attached to it. The culprit responsible for his accident was probably lurking around in the shadows waiting for any wrong move before firing back.
He did not want his cousin to face such people so he had to remind him again. In this life, they were demons and devils who hated the success of people.
Being crowned the business king for the last two years, he had been faced with all kinds of dilemmas which finally resulted in a tragic accident.
"I am not stupid. I know how to live my life " He went out of the room and into the car, he entered.
In the Adams' Enterprise.
Paige Adams strode into the company and not new to the environment anymore, she took steps into the company's entrance with a coloured bright shirt, a pair of sharp leather black trousers paired with boots, and walked to the marketing department.
She shoved the key into the key holder and turned it. The door refused to open as she brought out her photo card to use the scanner.
Both of her identities got denied at the same time. She looked at the colleagues who secretly whispered and hid their faces secretly. The murmurs arising from them made her more suspicious.
She tried once more and seeing it got denied, one of the colleagues stood up and whispered into her ears.
"Miss Adams, Miss Alice came in this morning with some technicians and changed the scanner and the keyhole. So that must be why you can not enter your office " She explained before she went to her seat.
Paige Adams clenched her fist angrily and walked to Miss Alice's office.
"Do you not know how to knock before barging into one's office?" Alice Ligne said with all mockery. She turned around and saw the fuming and yet calm Paige Adams.
"Oh! No wonder! It is you!" She bluffed and waited to hear what she had to say. Alice Ligne and Paige Adams were always at loggerheads with each other since high school.
Alice disliked the fact Paige had both brains and beauty and easily got jobs when she applied for ones.
She envied her with so much passion that even in her father's company she was in a higher position than her.
Not with the fact that they were father and daughter but by the fact that she deserved it seeing she had more knowledge in business than anyone including Alyssa.
"I would like to ask why Miss Alice denied me access to my own office? Has envy eaten you so deep that your shameless nature has blinded you?!"
There was obvious disdain and mockery in her words. Paige Adams never had the time to look at Miss Alice in whatever way and that only made her furious.
"You better watch your words!" Miss Alice hissed and snarled at her. So she knew that she envied her and cared less! "About your denial, I am just following the CEO's commands and that is all ."
