In a realm that doesn't exist in history or maps, two dominants fight to gain power and authority whilst protecting that which they valued as well.
Luna realm is a magical world occupied by the Angels, demons and other unimaginable species of different breeds. The realm had two world - the upperworld and the underworld.
The upperworld contained two parts - shadows and Light.
The shadows were occupied by the demons while the Angels dwelt in the lights. These creatures weren't separated but lived happily and we're even connected since they shared the Same slaves and masters. They had a common market too and did exchange of goods together - peacefully.
The two sections were ruled by different kings which were the Demon king and Angel king. They shared common interest and discussed issues to promote the lives of dominants.
The underworld was nothing but a prison for traitors and those who sold their conscience to evil or leaked the weakness of the realm to enemies and outsiders. The world was very different from the upper world because it lacked magic and had wraiths lurking around in darkness.
For a long time they lived in happiness until something drastic occurred. something that changed the fate of the realm...
300 years ago in a Luna realm (a magical world dominated by Angels and Demons), during the eclipse of the moon, an unfortunate incident occured leading to the moon displacing from the sky.
Great Sages of both dominants joined forces to stop the destruction and bad luck created by the deadly incident.
A new spell formed from the four elements of earth (fire, wind, water and land) was used as an upthrust to push the moon into the sky. Therefore, a book on the principles of magic containing the new elemental spell was used as a guide to perform the ritual.
Thousands died as a result and investigations conducted proved that the Demon king had tried to summon the moon goddess by using black magic - a forbidden sorcery. He wanted her to grant him immerse powers to completely take over the realm.
This resulted to hatred and disgust and a fatal war broke out. Lives were shattered and blood wasted. The Angels prevailed in the upperworld and the Demons were cast into the underworld.
The underworld was like a prison were the demons dominated Rather peacefully.
A strong gate was built using sorcery to separate the two world. The keys were handled by the keepers who protected the gate with their lives.

180 years later....
Queen Yuki of the Angels fell sick on the night of delivering her baby. In secret, some wise Sages conducted black magic to help her deliver the baby with all precautions taken.
The moon turned red but didn't fall due to the elemental spells used to guide the sorcery. Instead, the realm gate exploded and many loosed their magic. This gave the demons access into the upperworld again and war broke out that night.
The book on elemental spells went missing including the queen's daughter...
NB - The words Angels and Demons as used repeatedly in the book is just a mere name used to effectively distinguish each character personality and where they truly belong. The book is really not based on or has anything to do with the bible. Actually, it's more like a special name for a particular people with same origin but can have different personalities, powers, energy core, etc. I hope you don't get confused.
The Luna law - this is a law given by the moon goddess to ensure continuity of the realm. It forbids black magic and entails certain magic spells.
Angels - Beings that spread love and mercy. Naturally known to be nice and good. They posses different types of cores expect the dark cores.
Demons - A demon wether a sage, mage or anything must have a dark core, because that's what they are inside. Good demons are those that learned to control their darkness and not let darkness cloud their hearts.
Energy core - a system of Magical powers developed in a body. It connects both body and soul and performs various functions. If it dries up, the person dies.
Black magic - this is sorcery of blood. it requires a life sacrifice to perform. Since the moon goddess contradict such sorcery, it endangers the dominates when performed carelessly.
The keepers - An angel or demon with noble blood. They have the purple energy core and are capable of protecting and keeping valuables with their lives in line.
The healers - a royal blood of an angel. They have the white/Pure energy core and can give life. In other words, they have the strongest powerful magic and rule the entire realm. The pure core is very rare and limitless to power.
The seekers - A secret cult ( mostly run by demons and other evil beings) whose hunger for power can cause destruction. They careless about the people and pose great danger to the dominates of the realm.
The ordinaries - A demon and Angels that possess the orange energy core. They create neutrality.
Elfs and fairies - Magical creatures with green cores. They prepare medicines and creates prophecies based on visions.
Mages - war lords (angels and Demons) with red energy core. They fight wars and guard the realm to maintain stability.
Sages - They have the yellow energy core and are the only ones capable of performing rituals and rites due to high level of heavenly powers.
Shape shifters - They possess no core but are capable of changing forms.
All these creatures make up the Luna realm.
Please note - more terms would be explained as the book progresses.
|Luna's POV|
Never in my wildest imaginations have I wished my life would be a fairytale, though I've read so many handwritten scripts and online fantasy books but nah...it was silly, too beautiful to be considered real.
I was born with the moon being the leader of the night, that gave me a zodiac sign of cancer. Hence the name, Luna Yuki.
Ahh, I know that look on your face. Weird name for an American citizen right? I often get the same expression whenever I introduced myself to people.
I was told we moved from Japan to America when I was born, I don't even know my hometown nor my relations. Why?
Actually, it's best we don't discuss that because the last time I queried my parents About my relatives or why we even left Japan at first? it didn't end well. so I'm better off not knowing at all.
I'm not someone that is easily driven by what others say but strangely, those undefinable expressions were enough to make me translate my name.
Dad didn't like the idea but I was able to convince mom to allow me do so.
So instead of Mr and Mrs Yuki, it became, Mr and Mrs Snow.
Now I'm called Snow Moon. Yuki means snow and off course Luna, moon. Great right?
I rolled on the bed, wondering what hectic day today would be. It was my birthday plus my busy day too, as usual. I have to make certain deliveries within Queen's city, where we resided.
Moreover, I was kinda excited to meet my fiance too. He had promised me an expensive birthday present.
We've known each other for like a month but I can't exactly say we behave like couples.
It was a contracted alliance and I had to marry him. He was really nice and since our family delivery business was going bankrupt, Dad accepted the marriage proposal. They would help my family financially and I'd become their daughter in-law. We could set up a big restaurant as well, this was our dream. My mom's dream.
I sighed for the sixth time that morning and rolled on my bed effortlessly. The thought of getting married at 18 sent goosebumps all over me.
I wanted to do a lot but with the situation at hand, I was trapped - in marriage. The wedding would be next month and I'd better accept my fate!
I wasn't fantasy crazy but off course I always dreamt of love at first sight. I wanted to marry someone I'm in love with but now, Love can't provide my family with money right? I would grow to love him after marriage....
A slender beautiful figure barged in, making me jerk off the bed.
I turned to met mom's angry glare. She was putting on an apron, her hands secured in rubber gloves and her face had stains of flour powder. Guess she has started taking orders already.
"can't believe you still in bed, Luna!"
Well, she still refered to me as Luna sometimes. I mean it's my birth name right?
"oh mom, can't I get enough sleep even today? for goodness sake it's my birthday!" I yawned stretching my arms as I walked towards my closet.
"we have better things to do Luna! Mr Christian has ordered 20 pancakes, we have an unfinished delivery of 50 fresh lettuce soup, 34 cheesecake and 100 sandwiches, Suzanne asked for 5 packs of beef stew, Sir Charles..............." She let out a heavy breathe when she was done listing the orders we had for the day.
"I know, I know. Gosh, I'm tired already from hearing the list." I feigned a cry and poured paste lazily on my tooth brush.
"ten minutes! we don't have all day. Your dad has gone out and it's just the two of us." She snorted and walked out the door.
I guess my birthday won't be celebrated.
After brushing my teeth, I took a quick bath and dressed my facial features. Sparkling blue eyes, pointed nose and rosy lips. I looked perfect, good enough to make deliveries for the day.
I packed my hair in a loose bun and strolled towards the kitchen to help mom out.
The kitchen was huge and had enough space for cooking so mom initiated the idea of starting food deliveries. There was a lot to pay for, the house, pick up tax, my tuition fees and other important stuffs.
We baked and cooked for hours and it was finally time for the deliveries. Mom arranged the packages inside the pickup and I walked into my room to put on a hoodie.
Dad bought the pickup shortly after we started the delivery business.
It was snowing and I hope I won't have any difficulty handling the pickup.
I kissed mom good bye and jogged off, playfully rolling the key holder on my ring finger.
❄️❄️❄️
9 hours later...
Thankfully, I finished early. Right on time to meet Leo, my fiance.
I took one more look at myself through the side mirror of the pickup. I looked haggard and obviously tired.
I tried adjusting my messed up bun and dry the sweats trickling on my skin. I should look good, for him.
"c'mon Snow, it's not like you're going on a date. You are just here to collect a gift." I scolded myself and tried summoning courage to enter the coffee store.
'That's the point! he expects you to appear nice. Eww, you even reek of flours and smokes.' my inner thoughts objected.
I sniffed myself. My inner thoughts was bad at words. I decided to apply some perfume.
I looked around the area trying to figure out if anyone noticed a girl sniffing her clothes. It was dark already, thank goodness!
I wasn't looking that bad! and besides, he should know I'm coming back from deliveries.
I removed my oversized hoodie to look more moderate and applied little gloss on my lips. Perfect!
"Hey," He greeted me as I walked in.
"Hi," I smiled and released a peak on his cheeks.
He was already seated when I arrived and I nervously took my seat opposite him.
He looked stunning and I immediately regretted coming here right away. I should have stopped by at home and gotten a hot dress.
I admit he looked charming enough to sway heads around but not me, not this girl seated in front of him. I've never felt it, the mysterious butterflies in the stomach or even the churning hearts, weakened knees and the rest you feel for someone you love. I saw him as a brother rather and not someone I can share a bed with.
The look he gave me showed he wasn't satisfied with my dressing but I feigned ignorance.
"You look.... great." the great didn't sound sincere at all but I still smiled.
"The place is nice," I immediately changed the topic to avoid further talks about my looks.
"yeah. It's relaxing and comfortable here," He smiled sipping his coffee.
He signaled the waiter and she returned with my favorite. Chocolate Americano with ice.
"Sweet," I preferred sweet coffees than bitter ones.
"you like it?"
"mhm," I nodded, pulling a strand of hair behind my ear.
"How's your mom and Dad?" I asked avoiding his gaze.
I was really confused. I didn't know what to say or ask. Things have always been weird between us, was It because we weren't in a Romantic relationship? I mean I've never kissed him or even.....I always ran whenever he made advances.
I wasn't comfortable with his glances too and was very conscious of my movements.
"They are doing well. You should worry about yourself more. Those deliveries make you worn out, can't you stop them?" He squinted his eyes, studying my face.
"That's our family business. We need it for survival,"
"My dad had promised to take care of that after the wedding. I don't like the way you..." He always likes stressing topics. I don't like it.
"I'm totally fine. Let's not talk about that." I objected feeling slightly annoyed.
He hasn't even wished me happy birthday! What the Fuck is he waiting for? Should I ring a bell?
As if reading my thoughts...
"Happy birthday!" He announced presenting a set of neck beads inside a case on the table.
This was the moment.
That moment when you feel like you have the spotlight and nothing else mattered but you.
I smiled, "thanks. This is beautiful," I touched the pink pearls. "Thanks again,"
I was really grateful for the jewelry and most likely, he was the first to present a gift. Not just a gift but something lovely and expensive.
"I knew it would look good on you the moment I saw it," he grinned with smiles and crossed over to help me wear it.
"I would put it on always. It's pretty," I giggled like a child that received dollar notes.
"You are pretty," He corrected and walked back to his seat.
I smiled shyly.
Just then, mother texted me. 'What is keeping you out? be back already. Your dad is getting impatient....'
Looking at the text, I sighed.
"what's wrong?" he asked.
"I need to leave. Something came up," I lied, standing up.
"is it serious? you need me to come?" He asked worried but I knew he was more disappointed.
"nah... we can manage. I just have to fix some stuffs," I smiled and turned to leave, "take care. I would call you."
I sipped my coffee and walked out. I hope it's not something serious again. The last time I got a message this late, it was bad news.
He nodded and bide me farewell.
❄️❄️❄️
When I got home, dinner was already set and I wanted to eat badly. I didn't realize how hungry I was until now but mother insisted I had my bath before touching any food.
There wasn't any bad news as well, it's just mom being worried.
So I lazily walked into my room to bath. Today hasn't been so great as I anticipated, apart from the necklace.
30 minutes later.....
After bath, I wore a baggie top barely covering my ass, a short pantie and my hair in a messy ponytail.
Walking back into the dinning, I almost got paralysed with surprise.
Mom and Dad stood in front of me wearing paper hats and a pretty cake on their hands.
"Happy birthday darling!" They chorused.
All smiles. It was so touching that I shed tears. I thought they forgot...
I didn't need the spotlight for this. My moments with mom and dad were always special, something I couldn't comprehend but loved.
"thanks mom, dad." They pulled me for a hug after dropping the cake.
"my darling, you are special to us. We can never forget your day," she smiled wiping my joyful tears.
I chuckled, "This is amazing. When did you guys do these?"
I was surprised because the room wasn't decorated when I returned earlier but now, it looked magical with the balloons, ribbons and all.
"your dad did it. I baked the cake," she chuckled and rubbed her husband's cheek.
"we love you, dear." Dad smiled at me.
"I love you too."
"Let's not get emotional, now blow off the candles," Mom distracted us and we laughed.
I made a wish and blew the candles.
Just then, we heard a loud sound. The lights went off and turned on almost immediately.
In front of the door stood three scary giants!
I gulped hard, my birthday turned out to be my death day!.
