Chapter 1

Let go of me , I do not want to get married to a man I barely know "I yelled at my dad in tears..

I am not saying you guys would be married forever , All I'm saying is during the period of our business deal, you're going to act as his wife.

Then what I'm I suppose to do with my boyfriend?" I asked in tears.

Leave that guy alone ,he's definitely not good for you " my dad replied walking off

I sat down on my bed feeling extremely confused.

I don't know who Eden is , Although I have heard stories of how rude and arrogant he is, but I haven't meet him before.

I rolled over to the other side of the bed to put off the lamp, tomorrow is going to be a whole lot I should at least get a good night rest.

Next day

I woke up feeling energized but on a second thought I immediately became demoralized.My dad and I will be seeing Eden and his dad today to sign the contract. I told my boyfriend about the whole deal but he didn't seem to care. I got dressed and headed straight to the sitting room to meet my dad. I was a little bit surprised at my dads actions. My dads has always been so supportive of me and will never force me to do anything against my will.

We got to hotel we were directed to come to . It was an hotel owned by Eden. We walked into the compound and sighted Eden and his dad Mr Greg sitting close to the pool. I wondered why we were asked to come sign a contract at an hotel.

There were two extra chairs opposite Eden and his dad which I presume they kept intentionally. The contract was handed over to me to sign. I glanced through everything making sure I read every single word written on it. Mr Greg did the talking while his son sat down pressing his phone unconcerned about what was going on around him. I sluggishly collected the pen from Mr Greg and put in my signature.There was obviously nothing I could do at this point.

My dad and Mr Smith walked off discussing in business terms.

I stood up to stroll around the surrounding, Eden didn't say a word to me neither did he act I existed. I took a few miles away from Eden and saw a small garden with beautiful flowers. I bent down to touch the flowers when I heard a deep voice yelled "STOP ". I looked back to see who it was and there stood Eden looking at me with a frown on his face.

Who ask you to touch those ? He asked in an irritated manner.

I...I...i... am sorry, I was just trying to check them out " I replied stammering.

You should know that this is not your house, do those flowers belong to you. Learn to mind your business and stay away from anything that belongs to me, he said moving closer to me.

Now Get the hell out of here" he yelled

I stood up and walked away in embarrassment.

What kind of human being is that, so rude and arrogant I muttered to myself angrily.

I went back to the empty chair waiting impatiently for my dad. Is this the man I am suppose to stay with for God knows how long? I am definitely in for a whole lot of troubles. Eden came back to where I was sitted acted like he did not just yelled at me few seconds ago. I felt very much uncomfortable sitting close to him, so i texted my dad that I already left . I couldn't contain my anger, I just had to go.

My dad entered into my room unannounced, I rolled over to the left side of my king sized bed to sit upright to listen to what my dad has to say. The last time he came into my room unannounced he brought a bed news of me getting married, I hope this is not another bad news.

Good evening dad" I greeted him tiredly

"Evening my dear"

You should start packing your things...

For?? I cut him short.

Allow me finish what I was saying " my dad said looking directly into my eyes.

Go on dad" I sigh

Mr Greg requested that you start staying in Eden's mansion the day after tomorrow. By the end of the week there's going to be a meeting for business owners all around the city of New York, so you have to be there as Eden's wife.

I looked at my dad disappointed at him.

"Daddy.." I called tiredly

"You will be fine " he patted my back and walked off

I picked up my phone to call my boyfriend, or probably ex-boyfriend. We were having lots of issues and then me telling him I was signing a contract marriage made it worse.. he doesn't want to have anything to do with me anymore.

Hello babe " I called

Seriously Noel, for how long are we gonna keep quarreling? I asked

Look Gabriella we are done ok, so you should focus on your husband " he replied angrily

My phone fell off my hand while tears kept pouring down my chin.

Noel and I have had issues for a while but I never thought he was capable of cheating on me. This is so unfair..

I woke up anxious and nervous at the same time. Today is the deal day , I mean I will start staying in Eden's place today. I had mixed feelings, I tried to imagine what life would be like in his place.

Mr Greg was kind enough to send his personal chauffeur to take me to the house.

I walked into the magnificent while the driver assisted me with my luggage. Everything about the building pronounces luxury. The house was secluded trees on one of Eden's most exclusive street. It had gables, dormers , a screened in front porch and a formal gardens. Eden sure has a good taste.

Few steps approaching the building three maids came up to assist the driver and walk me up to the room i would be staying.

The room was exactly how I wanted it. Clean white walls , a king-size bed , and a sliding closet opposite the bed.

I laid on the bed to rest a little and maybe go downstairs to see if I could get myself something to eat. I rested for about thirty minutes and decided to check if I could find any maid to get me something to eat. I walked down the stairs too but couldn't find anyone, everywhere was quiet. I sat on the stairway wondering what to do. The maids have all gone home and I haven't seen Eden since I stepped into the building. After waiting for about an hour I decided to go look for the kitchen and make myself something to eat.

I decided to make pancakes and maple syrup, as I was making the pancakes I heard footsteps walk in.

What are you doing here??

I froze for a second.

That was Eden's voice, I could remember the voice clearly. These were the same words he said to me in the garden.

I...I... I.. "My words failed me so I directed my hands to where The pancakes were said what were you doing in my kitchen he yelled for the second time.

I..I .. I was hungry and couldn't find any maid around so I decided to make something for myself to eat " I stammered.

I warned you not to come close to me or anything that belongs to me didn't I?? He asked

Yes, you did but I was hun... he cut me short.

"Put off the cooker and leave here" he commanded

I looked up at him shocked. By then I had already made three pancakes. He picked up the plate where the already made pancakes were and was about to throw it when I held his hands I dragged the plate from his hands making sure the pancakes didn't fall on the ground.

My effort cannot go to waste I yelled and ran off with the plate to my room.

Chapter 2

Gabriella Pov

I am famished and my effort cannot go to waste I said and ran off with the plate to my room. immediately I got to my room I locked the door panting heavily. How the hell did he try to dispose of the food I made with all my strength? Rubbish I yelled and sat down on the bed to eat my food. I ate the pancake and orange juice I carried along while coming to this hell hole of a place. Surprisingly Eden did not yell my name nor did he chase after me. After resting for a while I decided to call my best friend, Becky. I searched around trying to recall where I kept my phone.

Oh jeez... I left my phone on the counter in the kitchen. OMG, what am I going to do ' I thought for a while. I can't just sit here doing nothing all because I am scared of Eden's reaction. I sat down for a few minutes and decided to go downstairs after I had gotten enough courage, I could at least try to dodge so he wouldn't get to see me. I tiptoed to the kitchen searching for my phone but couldn't find it. I became confused, wondering where I left the phone. I turned around to go back into my room when I hit a manly figure. I raised my head to see his face. he had a huge frown on his face. Is this what you are looking for he asked raising my phone. I looked at my phone in his right hand and stretched to get it from him. Don't you dare he said in a commanding tone. I moved back bowing my head to the ground. Go over to the sitting room and wait for me there he said and left the kitchen. I quietly went to the sitting room waiting for him patiently. After about some minutes he came outside with my phone in his hands, he looked at me sternly and asked me to stand up. I stood up with my legs shaking like I was about to fall. Eden has an unexplained aura, whenever he talks his words come out in a demanding tone, and his attitude scares everyone around him.

He sat opposite me while I stood up bowing my head.

I have warned you to stay off my part, didn't I? This will be the last time I will say this to you. And I will be giving you rules guiding your stay in this house, if for any reason you break any of these rules, be ready to face the consequences.

* You are not allowed to go close to anything that belongs to me

* Do not go out without my permission whatsoever as you could be subjected to public attention.

*Never come close to me except when I ask you to.

Lastly, the contract ends within two years therefore within this period, you are not allowed to be seen publicly with the opposite sex. I gasped at the rules he had just given, I raised my head to look at him.

How come someone with this bluntly cold-hearted?

Am I understood ? he asked coldly

I took a deep breath and sluggishly went back to my room. A few minutes later I heard the voices of three people yelling at each other.

Eden calm down, I heard a male voice call out. I said You should get these idiots out of my house, Eden yelled.

What more do you want to hear from me, I said I am sorry a lady yelled. C curiosity took The better parts of me. I had to go outside to see what was going on outside. I stood by the Corner peeking through the curtains to avoid Getting caught by Eden. I don't want to get in trouble again.

A beautiful-looking lady stood in front of Eden alongside a guy who was trying to calm Eden down but he wasn't listening. So what do you want me to do?? Forgive you and accept you back?? You must be sick " Eden yelled

I caught you sleeping with a random guy, you beg and I forgave you. As if that wasn't enough, you went around sleeping with my employee and then you also slept with my best friend and you dared to ask for forgiveness.

"You disgust me"

Now get the hell out of my house, Eden yelled at her.

The lady didn't seem to listen to him and he was forced to drag out of the house. I stood in shock at what I just heard. How can he forgive such actions from a person? the lady must have slept with other guys he isn't aware of.

Could this be the reason Eden is so cold-hearted??

The other guy who I presumed to be Eden's friend drew him closer and hugged him like a father would do to his child. At this point, Eden Becomes calm and embraces the guy like he is about to be kidnapped.

She's not worth the stress the guy told Eden.

I had forgotten I was supposed to be hiding from Mr rude, I mistakenly hit my legs on the wall and yelled in pain.

Who is that? Eden yelled

I knew I was in big trouble. How did I forget that I was supposed to be hiding? I kept mute.

It's barely one hour I was given rules and regulations and I have broken one already. I thought of running back to my room but Eden will see me.

I heard footsteps coming in my direction, I decided to move back a little and then I missed a step and fell right on my butt.. I yelled in pain.

Eden stood angrily at me in front of his friend. What are you doing here?? He asked

I couldn't answer him, my eyes were filled with tears. doing here?? He asked

I still couldn't answer his question. He then dragged me up to the sitting room like I was a piece of rag.

He threw me on the couch and started yelling.

I sat down there in fear.

Before I realized what was going on Eden picked up the center table and broke it into pieces...

I curled myself on the couch in fear. He picked up the flower vase and broke it too. His friend ran towards him and hugged him tightly trying to calm him down like the first time.

Eden's POV

Gabriella got to her room I realized what I had just done. Ever since I broke up with my ex-girlfriend Lily: Anger issues have become my main problem. I struggle to have a proper relationship with people, most especially ladies. I am the only child of my parent, my mom died when I was twenty-two years old. She couldn't bear the consequences of her actions toward my dad.

My mom was a cheat. One would have expected my dad to be the cheat rather than my mom but the reverse is the case. She couldn't bear the silent treatment my dad gave to her so she fell ill and passed on. Before she died I struggled to forgive her but after pleading for forgiveness on her sick bed I was forced to accept her back before she died.

After that, I met Lily and fell In love with her. She also chattered my heart and I swore never to get myself involved with any woman emotionally because they are all cheaters and liars.

My best friend Edward has been able to calm me down, I sat down quietly. The maid was not around to clean up the mess I made, so Edward decided to clean it up himself. You should apologize to her " Edward said moving closer to the chair I was sitting on. I raised my head to look at him well. I just spoke English and not Spanish, I said you should apologize to her. Pouring your anger and frustration on an innocent girl won't solve your problem. I nodded my head in agreement with what he had just said.

Edward has been my childhood friend who is two years older than I am and he acts like my father. I sluggishly followed Edward's lead heading towards Gabriella's room. Sorry for creating a scene in your presence but that doesn't mean I forgive you for eavesdropping on my conversation. I said and walked away. Edward stayed back and apologized to her properly but I don't care. . . . . The next day What the hell are you still doing upstairs I yelled at Gabriella. We have a Get-together party to attend, my dad and Gabriella's father thought it would be a good idea to introduce Gabriella as my wife to our intending business partners. My company is hoping to badge a business deal with a popular Russian tycoon. After the long wait, Gabriella finally came down and we both headed straight to the venue. She looked gorgeous in her black straight gown that revealed her curves. But I didn't tell her. Every lady I have come across disgusts me and Gabriella is not exempted. Getting involved with ladies irritates me but don't have a choice in the case of Gabriella. I had to do this for myself and my company. I took a deep breath and held Gabriella by the waist, while we walked into the hall. The hall was filled with business/company owners. Gabriella seems very uncomfortable but I don't care. I went ahead to introduced Gabriella to both my business partners and intending ones. After the introduction and all, Gabriella said she wanted air outside. I let her go and continued with what I was doing. Twenty minutes passed and she wasn't back yet. I decided to go check on her, not that I cared, I was just making sure she didn't disgrace me. I stepped outside and saw Bryan walking closer to Gabriella I took a step backward to see what Bryan was up to. He stood opposite Gabriella and greeted her with a smile on his face. She responded to him but showed no interest in having a conversation with him. So you're Eden's wife " he asked Gabriella She gave a fake smile which you can tell by the way she looked at him and nodded. Eden has always had a good taste in women and it turns out I always want what he wants " Bryan said smirking. Gabriella stood there uninterested in whatever he was saying. Bryan drew his hands closer to her chin and dragged her by the waist towards him. At this point I couldn't hold in any longer, I rushed towards him dragged Gabriella out of his grip, and, then punched his face. What the hell do you think you're doing? I yelled at him. He held his chin and tried standing up, I punched the other side of his face which made him fall on the floor. He looked directly into my eyes and laughed mischievously. History is about to repeat itself, just like I took Lily away from you, I will take this trash also " he laughed mischievously pointing towards Gabriella's direction. I was starting to lose it, I tried taking a deep breath to control my temper but it wasn't working. Out of range I picked up a stone next to me and was about to hit it on Bryan when I felt Gabriella's hands wrapped around my waist. "Please don't do it", she said crying "Please " you are creating a scene she cried holding my waist firmly. I took a deep breath and let the stone fall off my hands. I turned around and hugged Gabriella tightly like she was about to run off. Ever since my anger issues started, Edward and my dad have been the only ones who can calm me down, but surprisingly Gabriella was able to do so. Bryan stood up staggering, few people later came to his rescue. And am lucky I didn't hit him with the stone, I will have been all over the news by tomorrow. Bryan, Edward, and I were best friends before things turned sour. Bryan started going up against me and then considered me his enemy. He went as far as sleeping with my ex-girlfriend Lily and also stealing the ingredients used in producing most of the skincare products in my company. Gabriella and I went back inside the hall to inform my dad of our dismissal. Gabriella never spoke a word throughout the journey back home nor did I say a word to her too. I didn't want it to seem like I was weak, so I refused to say a word. We arrived at my house and both went to our various rooms. I played on my bed reminiscing what happened during the day. " stupid of you, " I said to myself hitting my hands on my head. Why did I defend Gabriella like I did earlier " the voice in my head spoke to me. Shut the hell up" I hit my hand on my head I only did that to teach Bryan a lesson " I said to myself again trying to convince the voice in my head. Rubbish I hissed and rolled over to the other side of the bed.

Please don't leave me !! I heard Gabriella yell "Don't go please " she yelled again I rushed over to her room to see what was going on. She laid on the bed rolling from one end to the other. I heave a sigh of relief realizing it was a dream. I tapped her so she would wake up, she held onto my hands and dragged my hands closer to her. She whispered In tears please don't leave me. I sat down on her bed waiting for her to release my hands but she still held onto it tightly. What the hell!! I'm supposed to stay awake while she's asleep I thought. I adjusted myself properly on the bed and didn't realize when I fell asleep. Next morning OMG !! what the hell are you here? Gabriella yelled waking me up from sleep. What am I doing here?? I yelled back at her.
