ELIZABETH POV.
Bzzzz! Bzzzz!! Bzzzz!!!
I gasped into reality at the sound of my phone's alarm by my bedside. I was startled awake by the sound of my phone's alarm which was stationed on the stool at my bedside.
I stretched my hand to my phone on the stool to stop the alarm sound. I mistakenly hit the snooze button on my screen instead of the stop button. "Argggggh," I complained, while I placed my phone back on the stool.
I picked the phone up again to check what the time is, "it's 6:00 am," I sighed and continued, "what's the use of waking up early and don't have a place to go." I returned the phone back to where it is and I stood up to stretch my tired bone and walked off to the toilet to wash my face.
I stared deeply at my reflection on the mirror, it reminds me of the day I broke my mum's mirror she was very angry but didn't want to show it, she didn't have the money to buy another at that moment.
Every money my mother earned is to feed my father and I. My mother did every type of job to make sure I at least finished my high school education; my father lost his legs in a fire accident that happen in the oil company he worked for. This event happened two years after I was born to life. My mother was sulky about the mirror, I walked to her and I said, "mum I am sorry, I promise to buy you a very big mirror when I grow up, ten times bigger than this one."
I sighed, now I am here scouting with my best friend, Susan and I haven't bought the biggest mirror I promised her yet. I cracked a weird smile at the corner of my lip while I starred at my reflection.
"Jobless but want to get mum the biggest mirror." I muttered underneath my breath and chuckles. My alarm sounded again, I walked off to the stool and stop the alarm. "It's 6:10 am," I said and sauntered out of the room to the kitchen to assist Susan with washing the dishes. I marched down the stairs. Susan was cleaning the living room, I walked up to her and greeted, "Good morning."
"Good morning, Elizabeth." She replied with a smile and asked, "how was your night?"
"Great and perfect." I replied
"Great and perfect, hmmm." She smiled.
"What about you," I asked while I sat on the soft sofa and placed my phone on my table.
"Great and perfect," she said, staring at me and we both chuckled.
I sauntered to the kitchen, and brought out a bottle water inside the freezer. I gulped the water inside the bottle until it was empty. "Refreshing," I commented staring at the bottle. I threw the bottle at the bin and move to the sink to wash the dish. While I was washing the dish Susan came to the kitchen to prepare breakfast before it's time to go to her workplace. She works at one of the biggest supermarkets here in New York City.
After I was done washing the dishes, I walked to the living room table, where I placed my phone. I took my phone on the table and sat on the sofa. I checked my mail to know if the company I applied for, have send a mail but unfortunately none of them have. I dropped my phone on the sofa and sighed heavily.
"Elizabeth!, it's time for breakfast," Susan holler from the dinning, she calls me. I picked my phone and walked to the table and savour the milk shake and pancake Susan had prepared for breakfast.
The table was silent we could hear the sound of every bite which was very unusual, I do crack jokes and gist while eating but the mail I checked recently had destroyed my morning. I hate being idle, I have been idle for the past six weeks and I need money to go to college. I work as a cleaner in a newspaper factory but it was downsized. Maybe I should apply as a cleaner in any factory until I receive mail from the companies I applied for, I have been applying for the role of personal assistant.
"Lizzy are you okay," she queried with concern, locking me out my train of thought, she always call me Lizzy whenever she wanna show me concern,
"Hmmm," I sighed and continued, "is it that hard to find a job that is not dirty like cleaning."
"Lizzy," she stood up on her seat and moved close to me, she sat on the arm of the chair I was seating on, pat my back and said, "you will get a better job soon even better than mine."
"Than yours? You work at the one of the biggest supermarkets in New York, how can I find a better job than that with my level of education." I said, my voice laced with sadness.
"Okay, I think I have an idea," Susan said
I faced Susan and asked curiously, "what's that."
"I will tell the new manager about you," she said.
"Really, do you guys have a vacancy?" I queried curiously.
"The new manager told our boss that we need one more stockerin the supermarket."
"Stocker, not bad," I said and continued, "so why didn't you tell me about it?"
"I forgot; I just remember now. Would you come along with me?" Susan inquired.
"To see the manager?" I asked curiously.
"Yes, to see the manager, what do you think?" she inquired.
"What do I think? Are you kidding me? I think it's a good idea," I said with a satisfied grin on my face.
"Go and dress up then, I'm running late. Time is not at our side." She said.
"After I finished my breakfast," I said.
"Sure," she said with a smile.
I rushed my breakfast and marched to my room to take my bathe, I dried my hair with my hair dryer and got into some nice orange T-shirt with a fitted denim trouser that show my nice curves. I combed my hair, put on my beautiful bracelet and stepped out of my room.

I woke up with a faint tingling sensation coursed through my body. I slowly opened my eyes, my vision blurry as I tried to make sense of my surroundings. Gradually, the fog lifted, and I realized that I was in my room, amidst the remnants of another wild night.
There they were, lying on the couch, the two beautiful hooks who had joined me in my temporary escape from reality. Their faces were serene in sleep, unaware of the temporary nature of our encounter. With a heavy sigh, I tapped them gently, urging them to wake up , "get up and leave," I said, my words were curt, lacking any emotions, but I longed for them to understand that I had no intention for any meaningful connection.
As they woke up, confusion momentarily clouded their eyes before reality set in. The blonde nictitates at me, her vulnerability palpable, while the brunette seemed composed, adopting an air of indifference. They dressed up, casting me glances that spoke their unspoken questions. I understand what they meant, I sauntered to my wardrobe and brought some bundles of dollars and I threw it at them. They picked the dollars and rushed down the stairs hearing their footsteps.
I walked to the bathroom, had my bath and get into some nice-fitted black suit. While I was wearing my twenty-four-crate gold wrist watch, one of my two personal bodyguards knocked on my door with his dark fitted suit showing his athletic shape.
"Bryan, what's the problem." I asked while I was wearing my wrist-watch.
"Your breakfast is ready," he said.
"Okay, can you help me wear this wrist-watch?" I requested.
"Sure sir," he said and move close to me. While he was helping me wear my wrist-watch I asked,
"I am using the black Mercedes, I hope it's ready?" I asked.
"Not sure," he said.
"Go and check, if it's not, tell the driver to make it ready before I finished my breakfast," I said in a commanding tone. After he was done wearing the wristwatch, he walked out of the room.
I adjusted my suit, combed my hair and look at the mirror making sure that everything is perfect and in place. After I was done checking myself in the mirror, I ambled out of the room and head to the dinning. I sat down at the dining room and savour the avocado toast my chef, Miriam had prepared.
After I was done with my breakfast, I faced Randy, my two bodyguards, which were Randy and Bryan who had arrived while I was having my breakfast, "is the car ready," I askedBryan.
"It should be sir, I have delivered your message." He answered
"It should be, if it's not I will fire the driver." I said in a commanding tone.
Naturally I hate laziness and people coming late to office although I go to work late but I collect report of late comers. I had sacked a lot of staffs in my companies and supermarket due to the fact that they come late to work or they don't take my instruction serious.
I sauntered out of the house and moved straight to the garage, where the driver has been waiting for me. I entered inside the car and we sped off. While we were about to reach my super market, my driver asked,
"do you want to pick anything at the mall."
"No, move on," I said.
"Okay sir," he said and sped off.
He retarded at the front of my company, I and my body guard came out of the car and ambled inside my company and head straight to my office while my driver accelerated to the garage. I marched inside the office with my personal bodyguard, Bryan.
After I had settled down, I took the telephone and call the manager, "bring me the report to my office." Not long after I asked for the report, my manager, Silvester entered, holding the report file I had requested.
"Good morning sir," he greeted with a smile on his face.
"Good morning, Silvester how was your night?" I inquired.
"Great and perfect," he said.
The word 'great and perfect' is what every of my workers use to replied both in my companies and supermarket, I made it compulsory after my grandmother died. I have known my grandmother to use the statement since I was in diapers.
"Great and perfect indeed, you look appealing," I commented.
"Thank you sir," he said.
"Bring me the file, I want to know who is due to be fired," I said.
Silvester moved closer to handle over the file with a smile. "You are smiling, hope you are not late." I asked.
"No, I'm not," he replied.
I glanced through the first file which was the punctuality file; the first page to the eleventh page and I found no red finger print. Which means nobody came late. There was actually one finger print that had a red color which was mine.
"Good, give me other file," I said softly in a commanding tone.
"Okay sir," he said and handle over the file.
"You can go, when I need you, I will give you a call," I said resting my back on the chair with my elbow firm on the chair's arm and my thumb on my chin.
I look at him as he walked out of the room. I had a deep breath and said to myself, "let's get to work." The file contain our financial records, I checked carefully to make sure not is wrong with the account. I analyse the record for hours, while I was analyzing it the company alarm for lunch sounded.
"Where are we going for lunch," Randy who has been staring at me for hours asked.
"Are you hungry?" I looked at him and asked.
"No...," he said.
"Of course, you guys are, I am also hungry." I said and continued with the file. After some few seconds of silence, I instructed, "tell the driver to make the car ready, we are going to my favorite canteen that's where we are having lunch."
"Okay sir," he said, and walked out of the room.

I closed the file I was dealing with; I couldn't continue because I was very hungry, I stared at the door, expecting Randy to open the door and tell me the car is ready. I sat down on my chair rotating the chair to the left and right while the pen in my hand was dancing.
"How many centuries, does it take to make a car ready?" I soliloquized.
Immediately after my soliloquy. Bryan entered the office,
"the car is ready sir," he said.
"Was it the company truck you guys are washing or you went to Washington DC to deliver the message?" I teased in a vexed tone.
"No sir," he replied.
"I already told the driver to always make my car ready before lunch," I said while I stood up from my chair and sauntered to the garage.
I entered into the car and the driver drove off, heading to my supermarket not too far from my company.
While I was in the car, I saw a lady walking out a boutique with a small boy which made me remember the last time my mum called, reminding me that she's old and want to see her grandson. I don't believe in marriage; I believe ladies were created to have fun with.
Having kids is not even in my plan, I can't give birth to someone that will be wishing me to die just because he wants to inherit my wealth. Almost all my course mate when I was in university wished their father to die, so that they can inherit their father's properties.
Even my father died I was so sad not, until one of my course mates, Silvester that attend the burial cheer me up by saying, "you are the only child, you should be happy."
I looked at him while tears were rolling down my face and asked, "why should I be happy when I lose my father."
"Because all his wealth is yours to enjoy," he replied with a smile on his face as he patted my back and walked away from the cemetery. I looked at him as he sauntered into his car and drove off.
"Mr. Connor, Mr. Connor, Mr. Connor," Bryan said calling me out my train of thought and he continued while he was opening the door, "we are at the mall."
I hopped out of the car and sauntered into the mall while the driver accelerated to the garage. I instructed my personal bodyguard, Bryan to inform the manager that I am around. While he moved to the manager's office I sauntered to mini restaurant at my supermarket to have my lunch.
After I was done savouring the food, Bryan came to me and I told the waiter to give me whatever he want to have for lunch.
After I was done at the restaurant, I told Bryan to meet at the shopping aisles. As I got to the shopping aisle, I picked some mayonnaise, artisanal cheese and some other things. I dropped everything in the cart and pushed it to the sales girl to inform her what I picked up.
I didn't meet her there; I only saw a beautiful lady in an orange T-shirt sitting down seems she is waiting for someone. I ignored her and took bag to put the goods I took at the shopping aisles. I handed it over to Bryan, who was just coming from the restaurant.
He heads to the garage to drop what I took from the supermarket, the lady in orange keeps looking at me with a weird face I ignore her and sauntered towards the door. While I was moving towards the door the lady ran to me and he said,
"stop, stop there, thief! You haven't paid for what you picked." She pulled my hand, to make sure I don't get through the restaurant door.
She dragged me back inside and started shouting, "thief!" I was just smiling at her pretty face. The manager rushed out of his office; the sales girl ran out of the restroom trying to understand what his causing the hullabaloo.
Immediately the manger saw the lady dragging me, he ran to me and said to the lady, "leave him alone and get out of here now."
"Girl, have you lost your mind this is the owner of the mall." The sales lady said in aloud voice.
"Get out of here, "the manager repeated.
"I didn't know, he was the owner of the company I was just trying to help," the lady said in a vexed tone, she faced me and said, "the fact that this is your mall doesn't mean you can pick things without your employees' permission." I was stupefied by her effrontery to say that to me after she had known that I am the owner of the mall and I watched her as she walked out of the door.
"I am very sorry about what happen," the manager said genuinely.
"It's okay, what is the girl doing there?" I queried curiously.
"She is here to apply for the role of a stocker," the sales lady said.
"A stocker? In this same mall, wow," I said and started laughing this due to the way she behaves after she was told that I was the owner. Most ladies I have known will change their attitude when they discovered that the person they are talking to his their boss or discovered that they are speaking to a billionaire.
"you can't blame her, she did the right thing. nobody was here, someone could have entered and steal some money or goods. You guys should be careful on how you behave here. Where were you?" I asked, facing the sales lady.
"I was at the restroom sir," she said.
"You were at the restroom? So where is the other sales lady?" I inquired.
"She's went to have her lunch also," she said.
"Anyway my lunch time is almost over, I will see you guys later." I added and walked out of the door. I head into the garage, hopped into the car and head back to my company to finish the file I am analysing.
