A Baby For The Alpha

The Alpha King, Kieran, sat at the head of the grand wooden table, his piercing cold eyes staring at the elders.

"Elder Thorne, repeat what you've told me," Kieran commanded, in his deep voice with a very serious expression.

He wasn't in a good mood,Not after what they just told him.

Elder Thorne, a wise and aged werewolf, nodded immediately.

"Your Majesty, time is running out. The Luna, though a wonderful mate, has been unable to bear you an heir. Our laws dictate that an Alpha must produce an heir within five years of ascension to the throne. You've reached the four-year mark, sire."

Kieran's jaw clenched, He balled his fists and his eyes were filled with furstration. He knew the elder was right.

Without an heir, his claim to the throne would be contested, and his birthright would be threatened.

The other elders nodded in agreement and Kieran sighed.

"We've consulted the ancient lore, Your Majesty," Elder Thorne continued. "There's an alternative, but it's..... You might not like the idea since you already have a Luna"

Kieran raised an eyebrow. "I'm listening."

"You could take an Omega as a surrogate, sire. It's been done before, though rarely. The Omega would bear your child, securing your claim to the throne."

Kieran's expression remained unreadable. An Omega? He hated Omegas. They were weak and fragile, lacking strength. They were useless.

But now it seemed like they were useful to him now,He couldn't let the throne be taken away from him especially not his cunning uncle.

"What are the risks?" Kieran asked coldly.

"There are risks, sire. The Omega could refuse to submit, or they could be unable to carry the child. But the rewards are worth it, sire. A child of your own would secure your claim to the throne."

Kieran nodded, He would do whatever it took to secure his claim to the throne. He couldn't let his uncle take it from him.

Not now. Not ever.

"I want you to find me an Omega," Kieran commanded. "One who is strong enough to carry my child."

Elder Thorne nodded.

"Yes, sire. I will see to it immediately."

Kieran dismissed the elders with a wave of his hand and they all bowed walking out immediately.

He knew his Luna, Aurelia, would not be happy with this decision.

She would be hurt, She would see it as a rejection but this was about securing his throne and he would do anything to make that happen.

Gideon, Kieran's beta, walked into the room, his eyes landed on Kieran and bowed respectfully.

Gideon was Kieran's close friend but he gives him respect when necessary.

"We captured the traitor, sire. What would you have us do with him?"

"I want his head"

Gideon nodded. As always Kieran showed no mercy to those who crossed him. Betray him and you're dead.

He cuts off their head publicly so the rest would think twice before even thinking of daring him or his position.

He doesn't care what his people think about him. Kieran had no heart,He was ruthless and dangerous.

And no one would dare disrespect him or go against his orders.

Luna Aurelia sat gracefully in front of the mirror, her eyes fixed on her own reflection.

Two Royal maids carefully combed her long, dark hair.

Aurelia's eyes were filled with pride as she admired her beauty. She was the most strongest and most beautiful female wolf in the pack.

Her father's important position as a pack elder added to her proud attitude.

Aurelia was as proud as a peacock and she always carried herself like a queen. After all, she was the Luna, the mate of the powerful Alpha King Kieran.

Her personal and most trusted maid Sienna walked into her chambers and bowed respectfully.

"Out"Aurelia commanded the two maids combing her hair and they immediately bowed before walking out.

She turned her attention back to Sienna. "Speak"

"I eavesdropped on the meeting with the elders as you requested," Sienna said nervously.

"They were discussing about taking an Omega as a surrogate to bear the Alpha's child."

Aurelia's eyes widened, her face fell in shock and she stood up immediately in Anger.

Sienna took a step back, her eyes darting nervously around the room.

Aurelia didn't speak but her face was filled with Anger. She was so angry that she felt like Killing someone.

"Leave me."

Sienna bowed immediately and quickly rushed out of the room.

Princess Lunaria stood at the middle of the forest, as she stared out at the target before her with a very serious expression.

Her bow, crafted from the strongest wood, were in her hands. She notched an arrow, took a deep breath, and focused on the mark.

The forest was quiet, the only sound the soft rustle of leaves in the gentle breeze.

A small group of guards, stood at a distance, watching her silently.

Princess Lunaria was Kieran's sister, Beautiful, Loving and very nice. She was a very skilled Archer,It was something she loved doing everyday.

Her long golden hair was tied back in a ponytail and her bright blue eyes looked very serious as she released the arrow, it flew through the air, striking the exact mark.

Lunaria smiled widely,

"Impressive princess"A voice male's voice said from behind her and she smiled widely when she recognized the voice.

"Beta Gideon"She turned around, still smiling widely.

"Princess Lunaria"Gideon bowed smiling lightly.

"How are you doing?"She asked softly.

"I'm doing well, Thank you for asking Princess. Your skills with bows are as impressive as ever"

Lunaria smiled graciously, blushing lightly. "Thank you Beta Gideon"

"Would you like me to escort you back to the castle, Princess?" Gideon asked, his eyes scanning the surrounding.

Lunaria hesitated for a moment, then nodded. "Yes, please. I'm finished with my archery practice for today."

"So, how's duties?" Lunaria asked. "You're always busy, but what brings you here today, Beta Gideon?"

He nodded.

"Duties are... demanding, as always. But I'm here today because I was meeting with some of the guards who are stationed in the forest. We're increasing patrols in the area, just as a precaution."

"A precaution? Is everything alright?"

He nodded again. "Everything's alright, It's to keep the kingdom safe. You know how your brother is very protective of keeping us safe always"

"Ohh"Lunaria mumbled. "I barely see him nowadays, I wish I could see him more often. He's always so busy with his duty as king"

Gideon nodded sympathetically.

"I'm sorry princess but he's doing it all for the kingdom"

"I know,He is. He's always been a great leader an..."

"Good evening princess Lunaria"Sienna interrupted her words unknowingly bowing her head.

Gideon smiled widely as he saw Sienna.

"Sienna, good evening," he said, his deep voice very friendly.

Sienna's cheeks flushed slightly as she bowed her head in greeting, her eyes lowering immediately.

"Good evening,Beta Gideon " Sienna said, her voice soft and respectful.

"How are...."Gideon started to speak but was suddenly interrupted by a sudden mindlink from Kieran.

𝙂𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙤𝙣,𝙞 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙣𝙤𝙬! Kieran's voice echoed in Gideon's mind.

Gideon's expression immediately turned Serious and he bowed to Lunaria.

"Excuse me princess, I have to attend to something urgent"

"Is everything alright?"Lunaria asked in concern, staring at him.

Gideon nodded.

"Yes, I have to go now"

Gideon immediately turned and hurried away but not without smiling at Sienna.

She immediately looked down again.

"I'll take my leave now Princess Lunaria"Sienna said, bowing again.

"See you around... What's your name again?"

"Sienna"She responded softly, still looking down.

Lunaria nodded smiling softly and continued her walk while the guards followed behind her.

She stopped walking when she saw Aurelia,The Luna. Their eyes met for a second and lunaria looked away.

Luna Aurelia and Princess Lunaria never really got along. They barely spoke to each other, and when they did, It was forced.

Ever since Aurelia had mated with Kieran her brother, her proud behavior as Queen and Luna always got on her nerves.

Lunaria rolled her eyes and continued walking.

< AT THE MARKETPLACE >

Rachel's eyes were filled with tears as she stood In front of the marketplace stall owner, her arms were aching from carrying the heavy bags of grains.

"You can't be serious," Rachel said, almost shouting.

"I just carried 20 bags of grains for you, and now you're refusing to pay me?"

The stall owner, a burly man with a stupid grin, shrugged.

"You're an Omega,You're lucky I let you work for me at all. You shouldn't expect to be paid like everyone else."

She took a deep breath,tears threatening to spill out of her eyes.

"Please, sir. I need the money. I'll do any job you give me, just please pay me for my work."

"You're in no position to make demands, Omega. Now get out of my sight before I call the guards."

Rachel's heart sank as she realized she had no choice but to leave. She turned and walked away, Tears streaming down her face.

Her stomach growled loudly and she sighed, checking her Pockets searching for any scraps of food or coins but she found nothing.

She continued walking and her stomach growled again. Rachel's eyes went to the roasted meats making her mouth water.

Rachel was about to go beg but she knew that the owner would definitely chase her away since she was an Omega.

Rachel was a werewolf but couldn't shift. That was another problem that made her feel like an outcast.

No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't transform into her wolf form. It was as if a part of her was locked away, inaccessible.

Other werewolves could shift with ease, but not her. She was a failure, a freak.

There was suddenly a large commotion at the market. People ran past her, almost crushing her.

"Attention everyone, the Alpha King has made an announcement!" a loud voice boomed.

Rachel pushed her way through the crowd, trying to get closer to the town crier.

The town crier stood on a raised brick, a large scroll in his hand.

"By order of the Alpha King, all Omegas in the kingdom are required to report to the castle immediately."

Rachel's eyes widened in shock,Her heart started beating hard against her chest.

What could the Alpha King want with the Omegas?

Did he want to finally finish them all?

"The Alpha King seeks a strong and worthy Omega to serve a special purpose. All Omegas are required to present themselves at the castle, where they will be evaluated and chosen."

Rachel's heart sank as she heard his words. The Alpha King wanted an Omega, and she was one of them.

She turned around wanting to run but suddenly a group of royal guards appeared, their eyes scanning the crowd.

"Omegas, please step forward," one of the guards commanded.

Rachel bit her lips, Her face filled with fear. She knew if she turned around and run now then they wouldn't hesitate to kill her.

She swallowed hard and stepped forward, joining the other Omegas.

"Move!"One of the guards yelled harshly and she flinched, fastening her steps behind her.

Was today her final day to live?

She bit her lips harshly and continued walking with the rest of female omegas present at the market while the guards followed behind them growling at them to walk faster.

Kieran sat at the throne room with the Elders as they waited for the omegas to arrive.

Aurelia was also sitting beside him, her hands on him as she smiled proudly.

He suddenly started feeling restless. His wolf too stirred up. And then his nose picked up a scent, sweet and subtle... like honey and lavender... It was unknown but intriguing.

Kieran suddenly felt all tinglingly inside at the scent...it was distracting. He wanted to know what was the cause of that sweet scent that messed with him and his wolf senses but then the throne large doors opened.

More than a hundred female omegas stepped in and Aurelia scrunched up her face in disgust as she stared at them.

Kieran's head snapped up and his eyes scanned the she wolves,The scent got stronger and His wolf growled.

Kieran stood up from his throne, staring at every one of them.

"Your Highness,This is Ashley...."One of the elders tried to introduce an Omega but Kieran growled loudly and the whole room went silent.

Rachel shivered, looking at the ground and that immediately caught Kieran's attention.

Her dark hair was disheveled, and her slender frame trembled under his gaze.

"Step forward," Kieran commanded, his deep voice echoing through the throne room.

Her breath hitched at the sound of his voice but she didn't dare look up or moved.

"Look at me"He said with so much authority that she lifted her eyes to meet his and the first thing that came to his mind was....𝘽𝙚𝙖𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙛𝙪𝙡.

Her eyes were very pretty, He'd never seen such a pair of beautiful eyes before and... her beauty. Even when she looked all dirty, She looked really beautiful in his eyes.

His chest tightened and his heart begin to pound hard against his chest,He suddenly felt Possessive of her.

His wolf was urging him to claim and mark the tiny lean Omega as HIS.

Aurelia balled her fists as she watched them.

Everyone was dead silent. Lunaria was smiling secretly and Gideon looked really shocked.

"What is your name?"

Rachel swallowed hard, trying to find her voice. His aura was dominating.

"Rachel"She said, surprising herself that she didn't stutter.

"I PICK HER"His voice boomed and everyone's eyes widened including Rachel.

Pick her? For what? What was he choosing her for? She had no idea what was going on and she was too scared to speak.

"B..butt your highness, You haven't looked at the rest of......"

He growled again. It sent shivers down their spine and everyone bowed.

"I CHOOSE HER"

Rachel's heart was racing as she stood confused in front of everyone, her mind was struggling to understand what was happening.

Why did he choose her? And what was he choosing her for? What did he want from her?

Rachel was confused and scared, He was a ruthless being from what she had heard about him,He was cunning and wicked.

What would be her fate now?

"Everyone, Leave us. Now" Kieran commanded, his deep voice filled the throne room.

Rachel felt a shiver run down her spine at his voice. His voice was enticing,

It made the hairs on her neck stand and her wolf purred within her.

The guards, elders,Omegas and other people bowed and began walking out of the throne room.

Aurelia still refused to move an inch, She was sneering at Rachel and she shivered in fear.

"Aurelia, do not make me repeat myself."

Aurelia scowled but she knew better than to defy the Alpha King so she rose from her Queen seat and stormed out.

"You" Kieran said lowly. "Come here."

Rachel's heart skipped a beat, She still couldn't look at him.

She took a step forward, then another, until she stood before the Alpha King, her heart pounding in her chest.

"You're different...."Kieran murmured, his fingers reaching out to capture a strand of her hair and Rachel breath seized.

He twirled it around his fingers as he inhaled her scent while his wolf purred more loving her sweet scent.

"Your scent is alluring.... You bring my wolf down to his knees and Your presence distracts me,It's as if you've cast a spell on me"His dark eyes roamed her face and she gulped unable to speak.

"Are you a witch sent to bewitch me Omega?"

Rachel's eyes widened and she immediately bowed her head in fear.

"N-no, Your Highness, I-I'm not a witch."

That was indeed true. Kieran would have known if she was a witch, and if she was, he wouldn't even think of killing her, because the tiny, lean Omega intrigued him.

Kieran chuckled and she blinked looking up at him in surprise but when their eyes met, She got startled and immediately looked down at her feet.

Rachel still couldn't respond, She was to shocked to speak. At least he wasn't forcing her but offering to give her anything she wanted and all she wanted was to be free, She wanted to pay her family's dept and get away from this pack.

"My parents they passed away, leaving me with their debt to the pack. A lot of debt. If I bear your heir, will you... will you pay off their debt?"

Kieran nodded. Anything for his little Omega.

"I will pay off your family's debt in full," he said. "But that's not all you want, is it?"

Sienna swallowed hard as she served Aurelia a glass of water, She took it from her and gripped it hard as her mind replayed what happened at the throne room.

"He's never looked at me like that. Never. And now, he's going to get an heir with... with that... thing?"

Aurelia slammed her fist against the table making Sienna jump.

"I can't let this happen"Aurelia stood up, heading towards the door.

Sienna slowly walked through Beta Gideon Quarters, holding a tray of meats, freshly baked bread,vegetables with roasted rabbit and salmon.

She carefully balanced the tray in her hand as she approached Beta Gideon's private chambers.

Sienna walked in staring around and wolf senses told her that Beta Gideon was currently having his bath.

The sound of running water and the faint scent of soap and shampoo filled her nostrils.

She carefully placed the tray of food on the bedside table, careful not to make any sound but she knew that he could Sense and smell that someone was in his chambers.

Sienna was about to quickly leave but his deep voice stopped her.

"Sienna?"

She froze, surprised that he still remembered her name.

She turned around slowly and then bowed respectfully.

"Beta Gideon,I apologize for walking in unannounced. I brought your meal."

Gideon dismissed the maids who had bathed him with a wave of his hand.

"The head maid sent me to bring your meal since the one that usually brings yours is currently sick and I wasn't busy so I brought it instead"She explained and he hummed in response.

"How's the Luna faring now? She wasn't really in a good mood earlier"

"She's unhappy and upset about his majesty choice,I had never seen her so upset before"Sienna responded,though she wasn't bowing but her eyes were down.

"I understand how she feels about all this but it's to secure the throne, She should understand too"

Sienna nodded,not knowing what to say anymore.

"Ahem, I should take my leave. Enjoy your meal Beta Gideon"She bowed again, about to walk out again but she stopped when he spoke again.

"Your anklets are beautiful, Sienna, I like them," Beta Gideon said, his eyes staring down at her ankles.

"They look even more beautiful on your ankles."
