Chapter 1 The offer

As the dimly lit room filled with the sounds of hushed conversations and the faint aroma of cigar smoke, Kai William, the formidable boss of the local Mafia, sat in his sturdy leather armchair. Dressed in a tailored suit that exuded authority, he commanded the attention of those around him.

One of his trusted men, Tony, approached Kai with a folder in hand. Tony, known for his unwavering loyalty and resourcefulness, meticulously arranged the documents before placing them on the boss' desk.

Kai, glancing up from his contemplation of the city skyline visible through the grand windows, fixed his piercing gaze on Tony. "What do you have for me, Tony?"

Tony cleared his throat, a mix of respect and apprehension in his voice. "Boss, I've been keeping an eye on an old man construction company, Maverick Builders. Well, this old man is in charge of different companies, he has an import and export company alongside a Nightclub and entertainment business. They've been making impressive strides in the city. One of their current projects has caught my attention."

Kai leaned forward, his interest piqued. "Go on, Tony. Tell me about it."

Tony flipped open the folder, revealing architectural blueprints and various reports. "They're planning to develop a prime piece of land on the outskirts of town. It's a sprawling area with vast potential for commercial and residential projects."

Kai studied the blueprints, visualizing the possibilities. "And how does this concern us?"

Tony shifted nervously, choosing his words carefully. "Well, Boss, I see an opportunity for us. If we could persuade the old man to sell the land to us, we could have a stronghold in that area. Construction projects could serve as the perfect cover for our operations." He said

"And we could also ask to become shareholders in his company, I know it would be so sudden for him but he has to accept our offer." He added.

"What else are his details?" Kai asked.

"Maverick Grayson, He is 52 years old, and he turned out to be from a very wealthy family."

Kai's eyes glinted with a mix of intrigue and calculation. "Interesting, Tony. Proceed cautiously. If a deal with Maverick Builders can be struck, we can extend our influence and control in this city. Find a way to make it happen."

Tony nodded, grateful for the opportunity bestowed upon him. "Consider it done, Boss. I will handle negotiations with the old man discreetly and ensure that Maverick Builders becomes a part of our enterprise."

As Tony left the room, carrying the weight of his assignment, a sense of anticipation lingered in the air. Kai William, the formidable Mafia boss, saw an opportunity in Maverick Builders. The stage was set for a subtle but dangerous dance, as the fate of the old man construction company and the shadowy empire of the Mafia converged in a battle for power and control.

Meanwhile, Tony stepped out of the sturdy room to leave the mansion. He needs to go and negotiate with Mr. Maverick.

He made his way down the stairs. The luxurious mansion is adorned with marble floors, ornate chandeliers, and exquisite artwork.

Tony is just a suave and sophisticated man in his twenties, he dressed in a black tailored black suit, he straightened his tie nervously as he looks at himself in the grand mirror.

"Deep breaths now, Tony. It's just business." He said beneath his breath.

Tony takes one last glance, adjusting his cufflinks with precision, and strides purposefully towards the grand entrance.

"Well, old man.... Be ready for me."

Stepping into the warm afternoon sunlight, Tony is met with a fleet of sleek black cars ready to transport him. He opens the door of a polished black sedan and slides into the backseat. The engine purrs to life, and the convoy glides away from the mansion's imposing gates.

"Maverick builders." He said as he cleared his throat.

The interior of the sedan is opulent, with black leather seats and windows tinted darkly to conceal the occupants within. Tony sits with an air of confidence, checking his watch sporadically, aware that every minute counts.

The convoy cruises past towering skyscrapers, the bustling city streets a stark contrast to the mansion's serenity. Tony gazes out of the window, contemplating the weight of the impending negotiation.

"You better do not give me hard time Maverick."

He has read Maverick is the only handling his business, no help from his family or whatsoever.

About few minutes later of driving,

The car pulled to a halt before the huge building, a smirk crossed across Tony's face as one of his men stepped out of his car to pull the door open.

Few of the guards around spotted him and then, one of them walked to him.

"Is there any way I can help you sir? This would be the first time I would be seeing your face here." He said

"Yes, you are right. I am Tony Spencer and I want to meet with your boss." He replied as he adjusted his suit jacket and adjusted the dark sunglasses he wore on.

"Who do I tell him wants to see him, and why? Does he know you?" he replied.

"Your questions are beginning to bug me, tell him I am coming to negotiate with him. It is business." He replied.

"Just a minute." The young man replied as he walked away to carry out orders.

Few minutes later, he returned with a heavy sigh.

"You can come in now." He replied as he gestured Tony and the other two men behind him to follow him into the building.

The grand boardroom is adorned with floor-to-ceiling windows, offering a breathtaking view of the city skyline. Maverick, a charismatic and formidable businessman, sits at the head of the table, surrounded by his loyal advisors. Tony enters the room, exuding an air of authority as he takes his seat next to Maverick.

"Ah, Tony? I heard you are here to see me for business; it is a pleasure to see you. How can I be of service today?" he asked as he dropped down the glass of wine he held in his hands down.

Tony stared at him for sometime before he replied, "Maverick, I appreciate you taking the time to meet with me. I'm here to discuss a business proposition. I am sorry for coming in without giving you notification before now."

Maverick raises an intrigued eyebrow, leaning back in his chair, ready to hear what Tony has to say.

"What business are you into?" he asked me

"I am not the one in charge of the business, my boss would be here to see you later after our negotiation." Tony replied

"Still, I should know what you are into." He replied

"Well, we are mafias. You need to think well about this." He replied and Maverick scoffed before he replied.

"Mafia? What business would I want to be doing with a mafia?" he replied as he rolled his eyes.

Tony ignored his question then replied rather, "I've come to negotiate the purchase of the land owned by your esteemed company. I believe it would be mutually beneficial for both our organizations."

Maverick lets a smile linger on his lips, contemplating Tony's offer, as if calculating the weight of his words.

"Tony, I appreciate your interest in our land. However, I'm afraid it's not for sale. It holds too much value to us, both financially and strategically." He replied in a replied in a resolute tone.

Tony's confident demeanor momentarily falters, a flicker of disappointment illuminating his eyes.

"Why, are you sure that is the reason you do not want to release it to us?"

"I need to see your boss also." Maverick replied dismissively with a shrug and Tony scoffed.

"Maverick, I understand your sentiment. But surely we can find common ground, a way to make this deal advantageous for both parties. Now, I am being calm with you." He replied

Maverick merely shakes his head, his gaze steady and unyielding.

In a firm tone, he replied "Tony, my decision is final. The land remains under Maverick's ownership, and that is my ownership. I suggest you explore other opportunities and companies for collaboration." He replied

Tony leans back in his chair, accepting the verdict with a restrained nod. He regains his composure, masking any hint of disappointment.

"Well, I guess you will have to say this to my boss then." With that final reply, Tony stood up from his seat to leave the boardroom.

Chapter 2 Kai's demand

Tony angrily left the building back to Kai to return the news to him. He was seriously boiling in anger as he walked into the mansion. There was no need of him to go into the sturdy room since Kai was already seated in the living room with a glass of whiskey in his left hand a magazine in his other hand.

"Whoa, what brought you back so quick?" he asked Tony

"Well, that motherfucker wants to give me hard time, he wants me to beg him or what?" tony asked with a scoff as he stood in akimbo.

Kai stared at him for sometime before he leaned against his chair and paid attention to Tony's words, "What is wrong?"

"That old bastard refused! Imagine him say to me he is not interested and he wants to see my boss." He groaned then Kai scoffed.

"Damn, men like that are really going to make it hard for me, except I do it my easy way and it won't be any good scene." Kai sighed

"I would have said no to the plan of taking shares, no one has ever said a no to me and he being the first person..... I will not let him go like that. I will not take shares anymore but buy it all!" Kai sighed

"Maverick or whatever his name is will knee down before me, he wants to see me in person... he will and I will get what I want." Kai replied with authority.

Becca Maverick, the one and only daughter of her father stepped out the gym with a bottle of water in her hands.

She had finished her gym for the day and was ready to go home, her phone rang in her pocket as she took it out to look at the caller and saw that it was Dennis her personal driver calling.

"Oh, hello where are you now? I am outside the gym." She said after swiping the screen to answer his call.

"I am just few meters away ma'am." He replied and she sighed happily.

"Okay I will be waiting." She replied then ended the call.

Becca is the only daughter of her family; she lost her mom at a very early age to a plane crash when she was just 6 years old.

Her dad had always been the one taking care of her all alone with no need of babysitter or something, to Maverick her father, Becca is the best thing he has ever gotten in his life aside from his wealth and properties and he will do all his best to make her live a peaceful and enjoyable life.

A black Rolls Royce pulled to a halt before Becca as a man dressing in a black suit stepped out to get the doors for her- Dennis.

"I am sorry for the delay ma'am" he said to her and she carved her lips into a smile before she came up with a reply

"Oh c'mon, it's fine...just don't repeat it again." She replied before she stepped into the car and leaned her back against the chair and her head against the headrest.

"Where are you going to ma'am?" Dennis asked as he sat in the driver's seat

"Home, I'd love to go to the company but I am really tired and I need to freshen up." She replied

"Oh, that is not a problem ma'am" Dennis replied as he drove the car slowly away.

Few hours later,

Becca arrived at her destination, a wide and tired smile graced her lips.

The Rolls-Royce glided to a graceful halt before the towering gates of Maverick Manor, the sprawling mansion that stood as a testament to the opulence and influence of Becca's father. With a soft sigh, Becca stepped out of the luxurious car, her gaze rising to take in the grandeur of her childhood home. The majestic facade exuded a sense of power and prestige, reflecting the wealth and prominence of the Maverick family.

A phone call came in immediately and she took out her phone to check the caller to see it was Alan her boyfriend and soon to be husband.

"Hi love." She said, her voice laced with excitement.

"Hi bae, how are you doing? How did it go there at the gym?" he replied from the other end.

"Good as always but today, I am freaking tired." She sighed

"I could come over later to give you a body massage....how does that sound?"

"Great! Please do love, I badly need it." She sighed and he chuckled

"You should rest, I will come over later if I can finish from work, and my dad has some visitors to take care of here in the company okay? So you should rest bae." He replied with a sweet voice.

"I would not love to see you stressed bae, take your time to rest and be good for me okay sweetheart? I love you even more than a vampire can." He added

"Even over the phone you are making me blush." Becca giggled.

"Yeah I will, thanks love." She replied

"Sure, we will talk later love." He replied as she ended the call.

"Great, I can rest now." Becca smiled

Passing through the imposing entrance, Becca's footsteps echoed on the marble flooring as she made her way through the spacious foyer, adorned with intricate chandeliers and lavish artwork. The air carried a faint scent of wealth and privilege, mingling with a touch of nostalgia as memories of her earlier years flooded her mind.

Ascending the grand staircase, Becca's anticipation grew. She reached the hallway that led to her bedroom, its double doors beckoning invitingly. Pushing them open, she slipped into her sanctuary-a room that reflected her vibrant personality and inexhaustible thirst for life.

"Oh finally home!" she sighed heavily.

The walls, painted a rich shade of purple, exuded a sense of warmth and tranquility. Sunlight filtered through gossamer curtains, casting a soft glow upon the plush carpet below. The room was tastefully furnished with elegant yet comfortable pieces-a sumptuous velvet armchair tucked beside a decadent vanity, adorned with a gleaming mirror and an array of high-end beauty products.

A stunning four-poster bed dominated one corner, draped in silky sheets of the finest quality. Piles of plush pillows beckoned, promising a cocoon of gentle repose. The room was a haven, a sanctuary amidst the chaos of the world.

Feeling the weight of the day's events, Becca relished the thought of a soothing bath. She slowly took off her outfit, Making her way into the adjoining ensuite bathroom, her eyes widened in awe at the sight.

Her dad had done some new things to her bathroom making it more beautiful, Marble floors and countertops gleamed under the soft glow of crystal chandeliers. Silver accents added a touch of elegance to the spacious room, which boasted both a freestanding claw foot bathtub and a walk-in rain shower.

Carefully preparing her bath, Becca smiled at the designer bath products that were artfully arranged on gleaming silver trays. As she stepped into the steaming water, the stress of the day melted away, replaced by a delightful sense of serenity. She closed her eyes, allowing the warm embrace of the water to envelop her, soothing her body and quieting her mind.

Emerging from her tranquil bath, Becca retreated to her bed, its plushness inviting her into a state of pure relaxation. She did not bother to dress up but instead, she remained in her bathrobe. The gentle rustle of high-quality Egyptian cotton sheets soothingly embraced her body, and as she sank into the layers of comfortable pillows, she closed her eyes.

The rhythm of her steady breaths lulled her into a state of blissful sleep, carried away on dreams woven with the silky threads of the luxurious life she had grown familiar with. In this haven of opulence and respite, Becca's mind settled, her worries temporarily suspended, as she surrendered herself to the embrace of the restful morning, she didn't sleep well last night with work and now she wants to take her time to sleep.

Chapter 3 No deal

Kai sat in his large Jacuzzi tub surrounded by three hot ladies, one of them was touching his length, moving it in her hands while the second was moving her hands on his bare chest and the third one was massaging his shoulder. He hasn't stopped thinking of what to do to Mr. Maverick, he doesn't want anything bloody but Maverick is pushing him.

"Take it into your mouth now without wasting more time, I have somewhere to be now." He said in a demanding voice and the lady in charge of servicing him with a blow job took his member slowly into her mouth while Kai moaned out in pleasure.

"Goodness, more you slut!" he groaned as he slapped her ass from behind.

"Ah!" the petite lady cried out.

Becca on the other hand slept for hours to her satisfaction, she woke up few hours later and prepared to visit her dad at the company to keep him company too.

Clad in a purple shirt and a purple short skirt, she set out to leave her room after wearing her expensive silver heels that was given to her by her dad last week, Becca hasn't stopped slaying her shoes.

Her small white bag was hung over her arm as she majestically strolled down the foyer, one of her men sighted her and made his way to her immediately.

"Miss, I can see you are stepping out." He said

"Yes I am jerry. Any issue with that?" she asked him and he shook his head

"Not at all ma'am, I wanted to know if you need a ride." He replied

"Oh, I already have one, thanks Jerry." Becca replied, and with that, she walked away out of the mansion.

Dennis was already waiting for her by the car. As soon as she stepped out through the exit, he made his way to the backseat to open the doors for her.

"Thank you." She simply said and he smiled.

Becca sat in the car and relaxed her head at the back seat, a low sigh escaped her lips. "I am going to see my dad." She said to Dennis as soon as he stepped into the car driver's seat.

"Okay ma'am." He replied and ignited the engine to drive away.

At Kai's mansion

Kai William, Tony, and a group of his trusted men, dressed in sharp suits that exuded power, "We should go back to him now, and he wants to see me so he will and he has no option but to accept my offer." Kai groaned

"Yes bro," Tony replied as they made their way out of the mansion to their vehicle parked and waiting outside.

Two men stepped forward and opened the doors for Kai and Tony, they stepped into the car as they adjusted their suit and wore a blank expression on their faces- cold face.

"That goddamn Maverick now." Tony said while Kai put on his black shade of glass over his eyes.

************ Few Minutes later

Becca's car pulled to a halt before her dad's construction company, she made her way out of her car immediately and walked into the apartment building.

It is more like a house her father built on the land then far from the building was another where he holds meetings and where his office is.

In less than 10 minutes, she made her way in and saw her dad seated on his throne-like chair, a glass of wine in his hand. The moment he saw Becca, he jumped on his feet.

"Pops!" she exclaimed

"My darling!!" he replied as she threw her hands around him.

"How have you been? How was the gym session?"

"Good as usual dad, how are you too? You look stressed." Mr. Maverick thought of telling her about Tony and his demands but then he shrugged it off,

"You should get some fresh air outside my love, I will ask the maids to get you something." He replied and Becca nods her head as she stood up to leave.

She went to stand by the flowery area to receive the morning breeze. Just few minutes later, a lady walked to her to give to her a can of drink.

"Oh thank you." Becca said to her.

Kai, Tony and his men arrived at the construction company and Tony led the way in, "You are back again." One of the security men said as he led them to the maverick's office.

Just before Kai stepped in, he caught the sight of Becca standing with a can of drink in her hand and a bird perched on her other finger.

She turned to him as well, their eyes locked for few seconds before she turned away and Kai stormed into Maverick's office. The air crackled with tension as they entered, their presence overwhelming the room. Maverick, a formidable figure himself, maintained his composure despite the palpable threat emanating from the intruders.

Without exchanging any pleasantries, Kai wasted no time and launched into the purpose of their visit. His tone dripping with arrogance and veiled threats, he asserted his intentions.

"Maverick, I've come here to offer you a proposition. I sent my boy here and you rejected it, requesting to see me isn't it?" he asked and Maverick sighed.

"He told you correctly." He replied.

"I do not want to waste time here, we want a stake in your import and export company, your construction business, and even your little nightclub ventures."

"That was what I wanted but since you refused that little offer, I changed my mind and this time, I do not want shares alone, I want to buy your nightclub."

Maverick's eyes narrowed, suspicion etched on his face as he scrutinized the men before him.

"And why should I entertain such an offer? Who are you people?"

Tony stepped forward, attempting to sweeten the deal with his persuasive charm.

"Maverick, let's just say it would be in your best interest to accept this deal. The benefits of having the Mafia on your side are immeasurable."

Maverick, undeterred by Tony's words, smirked defiantly.

"I may not be a saint, but I won't sell my soul to the likes of you. Get out of my office!"

Kai's temper, already simmering beneath the surface, surged to the forefront. His voice dripped with venomous rage.

"You dare reject my offer? You have no idea what you're getting yourself into, Maverick."

Maverick stood his ground, his eyes glinting with unwavering resolve.

"I don't need your twisted influence. I've built my businesses with honesty and hard work. Take your Mafia elsewhere."

"You just made a death wish; I will not say I wasted my time here, just wait and see."

"There is nothing you can do, go since you have all the income and wealth, why chase mine?"

As Maverick's words hung in the air, Kai seethed with anger. Without further words, he abruptly turned on his heel, signaling his men to follow suit. The room reverberated with the clacking of their footsteps as they swiftly departed, leaving behind an atmosphere thick with tension and the lingering knowledge of a brewing confrontation between two forces unwilling to back down.
