Chapter 1

Rain smashes glass like drums of countless fists.

Just after the surgery, Alyssa leaned against the wall to catch her breath.

"Dr. Alissa, this new emergency patient is in bad shape." The nurse came hurrying in a frantic voice.

Alyssa straightened up, her exhaustion overwhelmed by adrenaline. "What's going on?"

"Covered in blood, unconscious when they brought him in, said... Found in the woods outside. ' The nurse lowered her voice as if she could not say it. "It's a strange wound."

'Strange? Alissa frowned as she headed to the emergency room. "How strange?"

"Like... It looks like it was torn by something sharp, but the bleeding won't stop, and ordinary methods of stopping the bleeding won't help. ' The nurse followed her, speaking very quickly. "Besides, there was a heavy smell of blood on the patient. It was not like human blood."

Alyssa quickened her pace and pushed open the emergency room door.

The pungent smell of blood, mixed with the smell of disinfectant, made the stomach turn.

On a hospital bed lay a man, his body soaked in blood, his face indistinctly visible.

"Blood pressure? "Alyssa walked over to the bedside and took a quick glance at the monitor.

"Blood pressure is extremely low, heart rate is fast, breathing is weak." Another nurse immediately reported back.

Alyssa reached over to lift the bloody cloth covering the patient and gasped.

The man's body was covered with crisscrossing wounds, deep into the bone, the flesh turned out, like the bites of wild animals, but some of the wounds had smooth edges, like sharp cuts.

"It's not like a normal attack." Alyssa murmured, her fingers quickly examining the patient's wound. "Alert the blood bank. Get plenty of blood ready for surgery."

"Dr. Alyssa, his blood type... It's a specific type, we don't have a match at the blood bank." There was a slight quaver in the nurse's voice.

Alyssa paused and looked up at the nurse. "What blood type?"

"We did a cross match, and none of the blood types matched, like... Unknown blood type." The nurse was pale.

"Unknown blood type? Alissa felt something unusual, but now was not the time to look into it. "Top with O-negative blood for as long as you can, and prepare for surgery immediately!"

The lights of the operating room came on and thunder roared outside the window, as if to herald an unusual operation.

"Hemostatic forceps! Gauze!" Alyssa's voice, calm and দ্রুত, echoed through the operating room.

The scalpel sliced through the patient's skin, adding to the pungent smell of blood.

"Aspirator! Double down on the attractor!" Alyssa focused on the patient's wound, her brow furrowed.

"Doctor, there's too much bleeding to stop!" The assistant's voice was anxious.

"Electric knife! Quick!" Alyssa commands in a deep voice, her eyes fixed on the surgical field of view.

However, the electrotome was not doing a good job of stopping the bleeding, and the wound continued to bleed, as if by some force it was preventing the blood from clotting.

"Something is wrong..." Alyssa whispered, noticing that the edge of the patient's wound had begun to move strangely, like a muscle contracting rapidly to heal.

"Look, Doctor! The assistant exclaimed, pointing to the monitor, "The patient's heart rate... It's going up and so is the blood pressure!"

Alyssa looked up and saw that the monitor was changing rapidly. Her weak vital signs were returning quickly.

It didn't make sense! It's impossible to recover that much blood loss so quickly in such a short period of time!

She looked at the patient's wounds again. The wounds, which had been deep in the bone, had begun to scab, and new granulation was growing at a speed visible to the naked eye.

"It's... How is this possible?" The aide's voice was filled with shock.

Alyssa's heart was racing, too. In all her years of practice, she had never seen anything so bizarre.

'Doctor, the pupil of the patient... "Another nurse's voice was tinged with fear.

Alyssa looked into the patient's eyes. The closed eyes were open, and the pupils stood upright, cold and wild, like a wild animal.

A low roar came from the sick man's throat, like the whimper of a wounded animal, or some kind of suppressed roar.

"Anaesthesia! "Alyssa shouted, immediately aware that something was wrong.

The anesthesiologist immediately increased the dose, but the patient's body began to struggle violently, and the anchor band squeaked.

"Hold him down! "Alyssa commanded, and several assistants immediately stepped forward, trying to control the patient's body.

However, the patient's strength was surprisingly great. As he struggled, the muscles in his arms became engrained, the blue veins were bulging, and he broke the restraints.

"Howler!!"

"A wild roar came from the patient's mouth, and the atmosphere in the operating room froze momentarily.

The patient's fangs protruded from his lips, his nails became sharp and long, and the hair on his arms became thick and rough.

Werewolf!

Alyssa's mind went blank as she watched in disbelief as science was turned upside down.

"Sedatives! Quick!" Alyssa forced herself to calm down, her voice shaking slightly.

The anesthesiologist immediately picked up the sedative and prepared to inject it.

Just then, the door to the operating room was suddenly flung open.

Two men in black suits burst in. They were tall and cold, with eyes as sharp as a knife's edge.

"We were ordered to take the patient," he said. 'One of the men said coldly, glancing around the operating room.

'Who are you?' "Asked Alissa, frowning, as she had never seen either of these men before.

"It's none of your business, doctor, you just have to do your job." The other man, in a forceful tone, walked straight to the operating table, ignoring Alyssa and her team.

"You can't take him! He's still in surgery and critical! ' "Snapped Alyssa, who could not stand by while the patient was taken away by unknown people.

"The surgery's over, isn't it? The man pointed to the monitor with a wry smile on his lips. "His vital signs are stable. Thank you for your skill, doctor."

With that, the man motioned to his companion, and the two moved quickly to lift the patient from the operating table, as if carrying a piece of cargo, roughly and casually.

"Stop right there! Alyssa shouted angrily, trying to stop them, but she was intimidated by the man's cold eyes.

"Don't be nosy, doctor, it won't do you any good." "The man warned, his voice low and menacing.

Without looking back, the two men carried the patient out of the operating room and disappeared down the hall.

The operating room was silent except for the sound of thunder outside the window.

Alyssa stood still, stunned and confused, looking at the empty operating table.

She looked down at the table, where the patient had lain, where a silver pendant lay still, gleaming cold in the light, in the delicate and eerie shape of a Wolf's paw.

Alyssa picked up the pendant, its cold metallic touch sending a chill through her.

At that moment, she suddenly felt the imprint of the blood moon on the back of her hand, and there came a searing tingle, as if something were burning inside the imprint.

She suddenly raised her hand and saw that the blood moon mark on the back of her hand was emitting a faint red light, strange and mysterious.

Alyssa's heart was racing and a strong sense of uneasiness came over her.

What was the connection between the Wolf's claw pendant and the blood moon mark on the back of her hand?

And those mysterious people, what is their origin?

This night is not meant to be peaceful.

Chapter 2

The blood moon hangs and nightmares flood in.

Alissa jerked her eyes open, her chest heaving violently, cold sweat soaking her nightgown. It was the dream again, the huge shadow of the Wolf running through the wilderness in the blood-red moonlight, the howl of the Wolf echoing, the mark of the blood moon burning on the back of her hand.

She got up and went to the window. The night was deep and the full moon was high, but it was not the blood-red color of the dream.

'It was only a dream... Alyssa whispers, trying to calm her heart, but the reality of the dream lingers.

For several days, the same nightmare repeated itself, and Alyssa's mental state deteriorated. During the day, she tried to focus on her work, but she struggled to concentrate.

That evening, the hospital's annual charity dinner was held as scheduled. Alissa had not wanted to attend, but the dean had personally "invited" her and she could not refuse.

The banquet hall was full of celebrities dressed in beautiful clothes and temples. Crystal chandeliers cast bright light, adding to the luxurious atmosphere to the extreme. Alyssa, in a simple black gown, stood in a corner, out of step with the bustle.

"Dr. Alyssa, alone? "Came a greasy voice, interrupting Alyssa's thoughts.

She turned her head and saw a middle-aged man with a shy belly and a glass of wine looking at her.

"Mr. Li." "Alyssa responded lightly, with a tone of alienation.

"Why not happy? Come, have a drink with me. ' Mr. Li said, and he put his hand around Eliza's waist.

Alissa quietly stepped back and avoided his hand. "I'm sorry, Mr. Li, but I don't feel well."

"Oh, don't be such an outsider." General Manager Li persisted and pressed him step by step, "I heard that you are a good doctor. Why don't you show me?"

His eyes scanned Alissa recklessly, and his words were full of flirtatious meanings.

Alyssa frowned and was about to say no when a deep, magnetic voice cut in:

"She's my date tonight."

As the crowd looked around, they saw a large man approaching. Dressed in a well-tailored black suit, he had deep, beautiful features and a powerful aura that instantly attracted everyone's attention.

He walked over to Alyssa and naturally put his arm around her shoulder in a gesture of intimacy and dominance.

Alyssa stared up at the sudden appearance of the man. His eyes were as deep as the sea, as if he could see everything.

Lee's face turned sour as he recognized the man -- Ryan Castor, president of the Castor Corporation, a dominant figure in the global business world.

"Mr. Custer..." Lee's general tone became deferential, and fine beads of sweat oozed from his forehead.

Ryan didn't even look at him. He looked down at Alyssa, a playful smile curling around his lips. "Are you okay?"

Alyssa shook her head. "I'm fine, thanks."

"That's good." Ryan's voice was low and gentle, as if with some magic that made Alyssa's heart skip a beat.

He turned to Mr. Li, his eyes suddenly cold. "Mr. Li, I think it's time for you to go with your date."

Li Zong as amnesty, repeatedly nodded: "Yes, yes, I am leaving."

Then he left as if he were running away.

Whispers rose and fell in the crowd.

"That's President Custer? Why is he here?"

'Who is the woman next to him? It's beautiful! '

"No. Is this President Custer's new love?"

......

Alyssa felt uncomfortable being the center of attention. She gently wrenched herself from Ryan's arm. "Thank you, Mr. Custer, for helping me out."

"You're welcome." Lane looked at her, eyes focused, "We've met."

"Yes?" Alissa looked at him quizzically. "I don't remember."

Ryan didn't answer directly, just smiled meaningfully: "Maybe, in a dream."

Alyssa's heart jerked, how could he know what he was dreaming?

"Mr. Custer, you..."

"Call me Ryan." Ryan interrupted. "I don't like being called that unfamiliar."

"Ryan..." Alyssa hesitated before calling out his name.

"That's right." Ryan nodded with satisfaction. "Alyssa, you're special."

"Special?" "Alyssa didn't understand what he meant.

"Yes." Lane's eyes grow deep, "There's something about you that... Something that draws me to you."

His voice is low and raspy, with a hint of inexplical seduction.

Alyssa's heart quickens again, and she can't look him in the eye: "Mr. Custer, you..."

"SHH..." Ryan held out a finger and pressed it gently against Alyssa's lips, "Don't talk, feel."

His fingertips were cold, but with a strange heat that made Alyssa's body tremble slightly.

"Do you believe in fate, Alyssa? "Lane's voice rang in her ear, as if from a distant night sky.

"Fate? "Murmured Alyssa, who had never thought about it.

"I believe it." Ryan's eyes are firm. "I believe that what has come between us is fate."

His words, like a stone, dropped into the lake of Alyssa's calm heart, creating ripples.

The dinner went on, but Eliza had no desire to stay any longer. She felt as if she were in a great whirlpool from which she could not pull herself out.

Ryan seemed to read her unease as he pulled a gold-plated invitation from his pocket and handed it to Alyssa.

"This is my private dinner, and I hope you can come."

Alyssa took the invitation, which included an address and a time, exactly three days later on the night of the Blood Moon.

"Blood Moon night..." "Alyssa muttered, a strange sense of foreboding welling up in her.

"Right." Lane looked at her, eyes deep, "Blood moon night, looking forward to meeting you again."

"With that, he turned and walked away, leaving Alyssa with a straight, mysterious back.

Elisa held the invitation and stood there for a long time without moving.

A waitress passed by with a tray.

"Please enjoy your meal." The waiter bows slightly to Alyssa.

Alissa returned and took a glass of red wine.

Chapter 3

Red wine slides down her throat, but Alyssa feels bitter.

"Bang!

A loud noise interrupted Alyssa's thoughts. She looked back and saw a large man surrounded by a group of people in the corner of the ballroom.

"What's going on? "Alyssa asked the waiter next to her.

The waiter lowered his voice. "I think someone accidentally broke Mr. Custer's favorite antique vase."

"Mr. Custer?" Alyssa gasped, then realized she was talking about Ryan.

She walked quickly over to see Ryan in the crowd, his face heavy and his body exuding a powerful sense of oppression. A young waiter was on his knees, shaking and kowtowing repeatedly: "I'm sorry, Mr. Custer, I didn't mean to, please forgive me..."

Lane didn't say anything, just looked at him coldly.

The people around him were afraid to show their faces for fear of getting into trouble.

Alissa's heart was in her mouth. She knew Ryan's temper. The waiter was going to be in trouble.

"That's enough," she said. "Alyssa began, not very loudly, but clearly in everyone's ears.

All eyes were on her.

Ryan looked at her with a flash of surprise in his eyes.

Alyssa walked over to the waiter and helped him to his feet. "Are you okay?"

The waiter looked at her gratefully. "Thank you, thank you, miss."

Alyssa turned to Ryan. "Mr. Custer, he apologized. He has to be treated kindly."

Ryan looked at Alyssa with a mixed look. "Are you pleading for him?"

"I just don't think it's necessary to ruin a man over a vase." Alyssa looked straight at Lane.

Ryan was silent for a moment, then broke into a smile. "Okay, I'll give you that."

He waved and motioned for the waiter to leave.

The waiter rolled and crawled away as if he had been given amnesty.

As the crowd dispersed, Ryan walked up to Alyssa. "You were always so kind."

"I just did what I thought was right." "Alyssa said flatly.

"It's not nice to be kind." Lane's voice is low.

"At least, it's better than being cold and heartless." Alyssa is not backing down.

Lane gave her a deep look and said no more.

The next day, when Alyssa arrived at work, she received a huge bouquet of red roses.

"Wow, Alyssa, another one from your suitor?" Colleagues crowded around, admiring.

Alyssa knew who the card was from without having to read it.

She sighed helplessly and set the flowers aside.

Over the next few days, Alyssa's life was completely enveloped by Lane.

Each day brings a different surprise: flowers, gifts, a fancy lunch...

Even, Lane would be waiting in front of the office in her limited edition sports car at the end of her shift.

"Alyssa, get in the car." Ryan rolled down his window and gave her a charming smile.

Alyssa has said no many times, but Ryan has a way of making it impossible.

"Alyssa, you can't keep doing this," Ryan said. My best friend Anna couldn't stand it. "You've got to give him a hard time."

"How?" "Alissa asked miserably.

'Refuse him! Refuse him completely! ' 'Anna said firmly.' Let him know you're not something he can get easily. '

Alyssa hesitated. "But..."

"No buts!" 'Anna interrupted.' You can't keep being passive. You have to take control. '

Alyssa is persuaded by Anna and decides that the next time Ryan approaches her, she must reject him explicitly.

However, plans can't catch up with change.

One day, Alyssa is in trouble at work.

A project she was working on was in trouble because her partner suddenly pulled out.

"Alyssa, if this project isn't completed on time, you could be fired." The manager's words made Alyssa's heart sink to the bottom.

Her heart sank and she tried all kinds of things, but she could not find a solution.

Just when she was on the verge of despair, Lane appeared.

"Need some help? "Ryan stood in front of her with a confident grin.

Alyssa looked at him as if she saw a savior.

"You... Can you help me? ' "She asked uncertainly.

"Absolutely." Ryan says, with understatement, "To me, it's a small thing."

"He made a phone call, and within minutes, the problem was resolved.

A new investor came along and the project was resurrected.

Alyssa looked at Ryan with gratitude: "Thank you, Ryan."

"You're welcome." Lane looked at her with a soft eye. "I told you, I'll fix everything for you."

Alyssa's heart, again, wavers.

In the evening, Ryan takes Alyssa to a fancy restaurant.

"Alyssa, be my girlfriend." Lane holds her hand and looks at her lovingly.

Alyssa's heart raced as she looked at Ryan, her mind blank.

"I..." "She didn't know how to respond.

"I know you're still undecided." Lane didn't push her, "but I'm sure you'll come around to me one day."

Alyssa doesn't speak, looking down at her plate in front of her, her mind in turmoil.

When dinner was over, Lane walked Alyssa home.

The car was parked below Alyssa's house, and Ryan did not leave immediately.

"Alyssa." "He said suddenly.

"Huh? "Alyssa turned to look at him.

Ryan looked at her with a strange glint in his eyes.

He suddenly reached out and pulled Alyssa into his arms.

Before she knew it, he was hugging her tightly.

"Ryan, you..." "She struggled to push him away.

"Don't move." Lane's voice was low and raspy, "Let me hold it for a minute."

"His embrace was warm, with a reassuring power.

Alyssa's body, slowly relaxing.

She leaned into Ryan's arms and listened to his heartbeat, a strange emotion welling up in her.

Suddenly, Ryan looked down and kissed her on the lips.

Alyssa's eyes widened and she tried to push Ryan away, only to find herself limp.

Ryan's kiss, overbearing and passionate, made her irresistible.

Her mind went blank and she had to let him kiss her.

After an unknown amount of time, Lane finally let go of her.

Alyssa's cheeks were flushed and her breathing was short.

"Alyssa, I love you." Lane looks at her with deep affection.

Alyssa's heart, beating violently.

She looked at Ryan, not sure what to say.

"I'll wait for you." Ryan said, kissed her lightly on the forehead and turned to walk away.

Alyssa stood where she was, watching his back for a long time without moving.

A gust of wind blew and she felt a chill.

She reached out and touched her lips, which seemed to still have a whiff of Lane.

Suddenly, she saw something on the ground, glinting in the light of a street lamp.

She went to it and picked it up. It was a ring.

It was a strange shaped ring, set with a blood-red stone.

Elisa's heart sank suddenly.

She recognized the ring. It was Lane's ring.

He wore it all the time. He never wore it.

Why did it end up here?

Alyssa held the ring and felt a strong sense of unease.

She looked up in the direction Lane had left, out of the night, empty.
