Chapter 6

Panic flooded Edmund's face. His breathing grew rapid.

"What's going on? Who dared to take my territory? Find out who's behind this now!" he demanded.

Before he finished, a loud crash echoed from above. Several helicopters landed on the rooftop, and a group of people stormed down.

Before Edmund could react, the office door was kicked open. Shattered glass embedded into his shoulder.

His bodyguards moved to intercept the intruders, but the black-clad men floored them effortlessly.

The young leader of the group raised an eyebrow, smirking at Edmund's furious expression.

"Heard you were looking for me? No need for the trouble. We're here," he said.

Edmund roared, "So it's you..."

His words were cut off as the leader ignored him and approached Amelia respectfully.

"Sorry, boss. We're late," he said.

Noticing Amelia's injuries, a murderous glint flashed in his eyes. "Who hurt you?"

Amelia glanced at Rosalyn and Edmund, smiling faintly under their shocked stares. "It's nothing. Just minor wounds. Did you secure all the port territories?"

The man, Brennen Higgins, nodded. "All taken back. We even collected some interest. But those prime territories were in Zenith's hands for years. This interest isn't nearly enough," he added.

Amelia considered this and nodded. "Then find ways to collect more. Also, I want the Hopewell Group's shares by nightfall. The villa bought for that woman with my family's money? Send someone to burn it down. She doesn't deserve it," she ordered.

Rosalyn, enraged, lunged at Amelia but was pinned by Brennen before touching her.

Amelia's eyes gleamed with amusement as Rosalyn struggled. "Brennen, I hear the crew's training hunting dogs?"

Brennen signaled his men. Soon, several massive hounds were brought in.

"Boss, these dogs are well-trained. They won't kill without their master's command," he said.

"Good. Show me the results of their training. As for the prey..." Amelia's gaze swept the room, landing on Rosalyn with a smile. "Let's choose her. Miss Hall loves dogs so much, she'll enjoy playing with these charming hounds, won't she?"

Rosalyn stared in horror at the ferocious dogs. Before she could flee, one bit her arm and dragged her down.

Her piercing screams chilled the room.

Edmund struggled desperately to free Rosalyn from the dog's jaws but failed.

He turned to Amelia, pleading, "Amelia, she's learned her lesson. That's enough!"

His calm demeanor was clearly forced.

Amelia smirked and ignored him.

Only when she'd had enough of Rosalyn's screams did she signal for the dogs to stop. She prepared to leave with her men.

She had more pressing matters to attend to and no time to waste.

Besides the Hopewell Group, she was determined to seize Edmund's Zenith Enterprises.

As she moved to leave, Edmund rushed to block her but couldn't get close. "Amelia, are you really going this far? Don't forget, our wedding is in three days! If you walk out that door, it's over for good!"

Amelia paused.

Edmund's eyes flashed with disdain, assuming she was scared.

Before he could make more demands, Amelia turned and smiled. "Wasn't our wedding already canceled?"

She boarded the helicopter without looking back, ignoring Edmund's threats and curses.

He couldn't even stop her, forced to watch helplessly as she left with the black-clad men.
