Chapter 4

Timothy's friends recalled their messages quickly, and the chat group became silent again.

I felt a chill run down my spine, and my fingers trembled as they brushed over the pregnancy test result. I had been pregnant for five weeks.

Timothy almost caused the death of my baby.

So everything was a part of their revenge scheme, including the fact that I fell down the mountain and took the wrong pills.

The pills Timothy gave me were not painkillers at all. He intended to increase my suffering.

My phone rang again. It was Timothy calling.

"Where are you? Why aren't you at home?" Timothy asked nervously.

"I'm really worried about you."

Was he worried about me?

He might be worried that I might survive.

I closed my eyes, took a deep breath to calm myself down, and replied calmly, "I'm feeling unwell, so I came to the hospital."

Timothy paused before saying, "Wait for me. I'll be there soon."

"It's fine." I interrupted him and said, "The injection is working well, and I'm already feeling better. You're busy with work. Don't waste your time coming over."

Timothy was silent for a moment and then asked nervously, "Have you checked your phone?"

Was he afraid I had discovered their revenge plan?

I sighed quietly and pretended to know nothing. "Not yet. I haven't checked my phone."

Timothy seemed relieved, and his tone was softened. "Don't worry. I can't let you hurt again."

After hanging up, I felt nothing but irony.

Did he not let me hurt again?

But hadn't he constantly orchestrated to torment me?

After two days in the hospital, I was discharged.

I didn't want to get tangled up with Timothy again, so I ordered a taxi through my phone.

As the taxi drove along the road, it gradually veered away from the direction of the villa. I noticed something was amiss and asked the driver to stop.

"Miss, I'm sorry, but I have a friend who needs a lift. It won't take up much of your time." The driver ignored my words and drove straight to a secluded alley.

The taxi was parked quickly, and a man jumped in. He covered my mouth and nose before I could call for help. Then I lost consciousness.

I was woken up by cold water splashing on me. I found myself tied up in an abandoned warehouse, and several rogues were leering at me.

"Don't struggle, beautiful. We'll be good to you," one of the rogues said. He pulled open my collar and pressed his foul-smelling mouth against me.

"Help! Let go of me! I can give you as much money as you want. Just let me go," I pleaded and fought desperately. But the silver chains binding me were enchanted and burned me when I struggled.

I screamed for help, but those rogues became more excited. They tore at my clothes faster.

I was already weak and soon became exhausted.

I stared at the warehouse ceiling in despair, and tears streamed down my face.

Just then, a loud crash sounded, and the warehouse door was kicked open.

"Don't you dare lay a finger on her!" Timothy shouted. His eyes were red, and his muscles swelled instantly as he shifted into a nine-foot giant wolf and lunged at the rogues.

They fought fiercely. The rogues were defeated and fled in panic.

Timothy returned to human form and hurried to check on me.

I trembled as I looked up at him. I didn't know whether his concern and anxiety were genuine or not.

"Vanessa..." he said hoarsely, reaching out cautiously to hold me.

I shrank back suddenly. I was terrified that his rescue was just another part of the revenge game. I was fearful that another bad thing might happen next.

Timothy froze, and his face showed regret.

I wanted to ask him why he treated me that way, but a wave of dizziness swept over me, and I fainted.

I woke from a nightmare and opened my eyes to find myself back in a hospital room again.

I heard Timothy's angry voice from outside the door. Though he tried to keep it down, I still heard him clearly.

"Why did you start the revenge without my permission?" Timothy asked.

"Didn't you say you wanted to end the revenge game early and that you were tired of her? We just vented Bryanna's anger. It will be the same whether we or you carry out the revenge on Vanessa," a male voice replied. He seemed to be discussing something trivial.

"But you went too far. You actually hired some rogues to rape her," Timothy roared angrily.

Everyone was stunned and couldn't believe it. "We agreed that we will punish her a hundredfold. Why are you so mad? She's just a lowly Omega. What does it matter if she's raped?"

Timothy was at a loss for words. He just kicked over a trash can in the corridor in anger.

He was truly furious.

He didn't know why he was so angry after that matter happened.

I had stayed with him for four years and always had a smile. I trusted whatever he said and supported him without hesitation.

When he marked me, I cried tears of joy and nestled shyly in his arms. Whenever he remembered the scene, his heartstrings were tugged.

Timothy never imagined that I could be so sad.

The terrified, helpless look in my eyes broke his heart.

I had been radiant like the sun, but I lost my shine now.

He felt sorry for me and was in a panic. He didn't want to see me lose my vitality.

My fearful gaze pained him. I seemed to be more afraid of Timothy himself than of what had happened to me.

Timothy remained silent for a long time, and everyone looked at him with confusion.

One of his friends suddenly seemed to realize something and looked horrified. "Timothy, you haven't actually fallen in love with Vanessa, have you?"
