Kylee went to her room that evening to pack her belongings.
Kenney had always been distant toward her. Plus, he refused to have sex due to Ruth.
So, Kylee directly moved to the guest room, giving Ruth more room.
Kenney was in his study, massaging his temples with a sigh.
He looked up and happened to see Kylee carrying her luggage.
"What are you doing?" He said coldly and impatiently. "Kylee, just because I asked you to clear up the broken pieces, you're moving back to your parents' place?"
Kylee's shoulders trembled after she heard his words.
She wanted to say she was giving Ruth more room, but she couldn't say it loud.
She had loved him for nine years...
After a moment, she finally said, "I've been having trouble sleeping lately. I thought I'd be more comfortable in the guest room."
Kylee's aloof demeanor was indeed unusual.
Normally, she would seize any chance to talk to Kenney. But Kenney didn't think much of her unusual demeanor.
Kylee loved him so dearly and had a limited social circle. So she could do nothing.
His attitude softened as he took her hand and kissed it gently. "Kylee, Ruth has had a tough time over the years. I've witnessed her suffer. Please be considerate and let her have her way."
Kenney had always been like that. He gently asked Kylee to be tolerant of Ruth. Kylee would usually seize the opportunity to nestle into his embrace and nod obediently.
But she felt a piercing heartache this time.
Without a word, she took her hand back and walked away.
Kenney frowned with displeasure and shook his head at her retreating figure. "She is pampered..."
Kylee had just managed to settle her things when the door swung open.
Kenney entered in his wheelchair. His face darkened, and his eyes were gloomy.
Kylee was puzzled. He never came to her, so it was unusual to see him there.
However, Kylee soon understood the situation as she saw Ruth behind him.
"Kenney, forget it. If Kylee wants to take it to vent, it's fine," Ruth said, feigning magnanimity.
Kenney looked serious. "Kylee, have you gone too far? Hand over Ruth's bracelet immediately. It was a gift from her parents."
Kylee was stunned.
She had never been to Ruth's room and didn't even know about a bracelet.
"Kenney, it must be a misunderstanding. I've never taken her bracelet." Kylee emptied all her pockets to prove her innocence.
Seeing Kenney hesitate, Ruth quickly stepped forward. "Kylee, I saw you take it from my handbag with my eyes. I've already been so tolerant of you. Why are you lying?"
In an instant, Kylee understood the venomous look in Ruth's eyes.
"Kylee, just return it. It's a gift from my family. I know you dislike me, but..." Ruth's tears fell, and her face was pale. She looked utterly aggrieved.
Kenney clenched his jaw and said through gritted teeth, "Kylee, since you're not being honest, I'll have the servants search for the bracelet in your room."
Kylee looked at Kenney, and she was about to say something. "Kenney, do you really not know who is lying?"
He turned his head away impatiently and gestured. Then two servants immediately entered Kylee's room.
They made her room a mess, although she had just tidied it.
"Kylee must have hidden it!" Ruth pointed at Kylee with tears in her eyes. "Kylee, just give it to me. I was wrong. I shouldn't have accused you..."
Ruth clung to Kenney's arm and said, "Kenney, since she dislikes me so much, maybe I'd better move out."
His body tensed instantly, and anxiety flashed in his eyes.
"Don't worry. I'm here." His voice was unusually low. Then he looked up. "Go outside and get down on your knees. You'll be allowed to get up after you hand it over."
