The next morning, Eliana appeared in a red dress, arm in arm with him, looking smug.
Kenia paid no attention and was about to open the passenger side door when he stopped her.
"Sit in the back. Eliana will sit in the front. It's easier for me to take care of her."
"Kenia, you wouldn't really be that petty about a seat, would you?"
Hobson opened the car door for Eliana, carefully shielding her head and thoughtfully fastening her seatbelt.
Kenia observed all this without saying a word.
Sitting in the back, she noticed that the hanging decoration she had once bought for the car had been replaced.
Eliana seemed to sense her gaze and spoke to Hobson.
"Hobson, you still have the safety charm I gave you hanging in the car!"
He smiled gently at the woman. "Of course, I'll treasure anything you give me."
Kenia turned her head to gaze out the window, silent, suddenly recalling what he had said when they first fell in love.
"The passenger seat is always yours. Everything of mine must be connected to you."
At the venue, Hobson and Eliana walked hand in hand ahead, leaving her trailing behind, making her seem like an outsider.
The auction began, and he bid on many items for Eliana.
The final piece was a diamond necklace, rumored to come from a royal collection.
Eliana's eyes sparkled at the sight, and she, too, was captivated by the diamonds.
People in the entire venue gradually started bidding until Eliana tugged at his sleeve.
The man whispered a few words to the person beside him, and the host on stage struck the gavel, exclaiming excitedly, "Mr. Watson has declared he will offer the highest price for all items today! Does anyone want to outbid him?"
Kenia was stunned. He was willing to spend a fortune on a necklace just to please Eliana.
She remembered the first time she accompanied him to an auction, feeling uneasy and only daring to bid quietly on things she liked until the man beside her spoke.
"Anything my wife desires, I'll make sure she gets."
With those words, the man kissed her forehead in front of everyone present.
At that moment, she looked into his deep eyes, and her heart raced.
Now he was doing the same for another woman.
The necklace was successfully won, and Eliana touched her belly, smiling at him.
"Let's consider this necklace a gift for our baby!"
Hobson gently caressed her stomach. "It's for you. Our baby deserves even better."
The auction ended, and people came over to greet them.
"Mr. Watson, you are so good to your wife!"
The person referred to Eliana, while Kenia stood silently behind. Yet Hobson turned to her.
"She is my wife."
The person quickly apologized and left, but the murmurs of the surrounding crowd reached her ears.
"Isn't it rumored that Mr. Watson is very much in love with his wife? Why is he here with another woman?"
"Don't you know the rumors about Mr. Watson's fiancée? Don't bring it up!"
Hobson was called away by a business partner, leaving the two women alone.
Eliana held the necklace, looking smugly at Kenia. "The real fool is the one who's unloved and always the outsider."
Kenia replied indifferently, hands in her pockets. "You seem to really like the things I don't want."
Hearing her words, Eliana suddenly fell to the ground, pointing at Kenia and shouting loudly, "Kenia! Why did you push me? I was just saying you shouldn't insult your husband!"
Hobson heard the commotion and rushed over to help the fallen woman.
"Eliana, are you okay? I'll take you to the hospital! Kenia, enough. Is it so hard for you to accept others?"
His words hit her hard.
Kenia looked at herself being wronged once again and spoke up, "There are so many people watching, yet you didn't even ask me if I pushed her!"
The man picked up Eliana, not hesitating to shove past her, knocking her to the ground with the force of his push.
Hobson glanced back at her but continued walking out.
After they left, the crowd stared at her, but no one dared to help her up.
