Aria's bare skin glowed in the moonlight, her breathing uneven as Damon lay against her fumbling one of her Breast and sucking the other while thrusting into her. Her hand was wrapped around his head while moaning and screaming like it should never end the two of them screamed as they reach orgasm. Aria's fingers traced lazy circles over his skin, feeling the steady rhythm of his heart beneath her touch.
"I never thought this would happen," she whispered, voice trembling not from fear but overwhelming emotion. "The Moon Goddess truly chose you for me."
Damon's arms tightened around her. He didn't reply immediately, just stared at the ceiling, jaw clenched. She couldn't see the storm brewing behind his dark eyes.
"I have always watched you from afar," Aria continued, her words pouring out like a flood. "You're strong, Brave And now mine. I never thought an Omega like me"
"Don't," he cut in harshly.
She blinked. "Don't what?"
"Don't say I'm yours."
The air shifted. Something cold and unfamiliar wrapped around Aria's spine. She sat up slowly, the sheets clutched to her chest. "Damon... what do you mean?"
His gaze turned to hers, void of the softness it held just hours ago. "This" he gestured between them, "was a mistake."
A knife could not have sliced deeper. Aria's lips parted in disbelief. "But we're mates," she whispered. "You felt it and I know you did."
"I felt it", he admitted with a bitter smile. "But feelings aren't everything. I'm the Alpha. I have responsibilities. You're an Omega, Aria. You don't fit into my world. You are weak he shouted."
Her heart cracked. "You said"
"I know what I said. But I also know what I have to do. I'm already with someone. Camille is Beta-born. She's strong, politically connected and you just a weak ordinary omega"
"She is not your mate!" Aria yelled, the pain in her chest igniting into rage. "She is not the one the Moon Goddess chose for you!"
"Maybe the Moon Goddess made a mistake."
The words shattered her.
He rose from the bed, pulling on his pants without a second glance. "I am sorry if I led you on but this ends here. Forget this night ever happened."
Aria's body shook as she clutched the sheets tighter not wanting him to get a second glance at her body after what he just said. Her wolf howled inside her, heartbroken and betrayed.
"I need you to leave," he said, now fully dressed, voice cold. "Before anyone sees you. And yes "I Alpha Damon rejects you Aria as my mate"
Tears streamed down her cheeks, hot and relentless. She stood on trembling legs, gathered her clothes, and walked out of the Alpha's quarters with her dignity hanging by a thread.
The packhouse hallways were silent, but the walls seemed to whisper as she passed, accusing, pitying and mocking. Her body ached in places she did not expect, but her heart... her heart was in ruins.
She reached her small room on the edge of the pack grounds and collapsed. Silent sobs racked her body until the sun bled into the sky.
By morning, she had made up her mind.
She would leave.
She couldn't stay here. Not after what Damon did. Not after feeling the bond only to have it denied. She'd be a joke. A discarded Omega who thought she could ever be Luna.
Her belongings fit into a single bag. No one stopped her as she walked past the pack's border, bare-footed, broken, but determined.
She didn't know where she was going.
She didn't know what lay ahead.
But she knew this: she would never look back.
