Chapter 1 ~Face To Face With The Purple Eyed Devil~

~TRUDITH ARCHER~

I stood up from my bed. I had just been interrupted from my lovely nap by the loud noise I was hearing downstairs. I didn't know what was going on, but I wanted to find out. I stepped out of my room to see people running, the smell of smoke wafted through the air, my vision filled with some parts of the house on fire.

"Auntie, what's going on?" I asked a random older pack member who was running in the opposite direction.

"The house is under attack. True, try to save yourself" she said before sprinting off.

I didn't like what I was hearing, but I knew I was scared and needed my father. I rushed to his office, but I couldn't find him there. My worry about him doubled.

I barged into his bedroom, but he wasn't there either. I could feel my heart pounding furiously in my chest, I was worried sick and trying my best to think positively.

I closed the door of his bedroom and thought hard about where my father could possibly be, hoping he wasn't in any form of danger.

On finding out that a major part of the commotion was coming from the main living room, I ran down there even though I was scared to death. I saw my father on the ground with some people around him. He was on his knees shaking with fear. I had never known my fearless and brave father to fear anything, but today I saw him quake at the sight of a young boy with a gun in his hands. A gun that was pointed at my father's temple.

My father felt my presence and turned to look at me. I saw regret and anger in his eyes. He looked like he was scared more for me than himself. He wanted to protect me and I understood that. I couldn't do anything to save him... I mean, what could a 14-year-old kid do to save anyone?

"Run!!!" He yelled at him, his voice cracking.

"Dad, no " I don't want to leave you" I said, making the boy snap his head towards me. I was shocked by his handsomeness. He looked like God and his eyes... his eyes stood out so much. They weren't the regular orbs you would see on the street, they were purple and filled with a sense of revenge, hatred, anger and sadness all in one. His eyes spoke volumes about how much he wanted to kill me at that moment.

"Get her", his baritone voice broke me from my wandering thoughts, dragging me back to reality and making me remember the situation I was stuck in.

I stared at my father one more time and at his nod, I sped through the backdoor. I wanted to escape as fast as I could. I hadn't learned how to transform, so I couldn't change into my wolf form for an easier escape. My pursuers had already transformed into their wolf forms and charged hard at me. I knew that if they got their hands on me, they would tear me into pieces and I would die.

I didn't want to disappoint my father or make his sacrifice go to waste, so I needed to survive. I also prayed to the moon goddess, hoping for a way out for me and my family.

I managed to lose them when I entered the deeper part of the woods. I hid in the fauna for several days, hiding my scent by washing in the stagnant creek or applying sharp-scented berries and plants, nearly dying from hunger and dehydration. I needed food. Even just water would be good enough because my throat felt like it was about to collapse. The last thing I thought of before the darkness took me was my father.

~SIX YEARS LATER~

I walked into the club using the secret password, and it was buzzing with customers. I couldn't help the grin that came to my face because I knew it meant 'LOTS OF MONEY'.

I went straight to the dresser room and changed into my attire, putting on my mask. Many men were ready to spend their money tonight, and I had no problem with that. I was going to dance to my fullest today.

I stepped on the stage and I started hearing roars and howls of hungry men ready to feast their eyes.

"Yay Dith" they all yelled my stage name. I was the most requested stripper in this club and everyone waited for the day I came out to dance.

I placed my hands on the pole, loving the colorful led light on my skin when SAVAGE by Meghan Thee stallion started playing in the background. I went down on the pole and started dancing. They all roared and yelled, making me smile.

. . . . . . .

I was done dancing. I had just come down from the stage and was heading to the dresser room when I bumped into Loretta. Shit! I had wanted to leave as soon as possible.

"Hey True" she smiled. "You made a lot of money today", she congratulated.

"As usual... I'll be heading to your office later to get the payment from last time and today". I really needed the money this time.

"About that, I'm planning to double the money by three if you do this private section," she said with a pleading look on her face. I didn't like what she was saying, not in the slightest. She knew I didn't do private sections because a lot of bad things could happen there, and I've seen many of my colleagues die from the wrong clients.

"But Retta, I was just getting ready to leave, and I didn't really have time for this," I explained, hoping she would let me go.

"I've never asked you to do this before, so please just help me. They are my biggest helpers and I don't want to lose them." I really didn't want to do this, but I knew how much help Loretta had done in my life. She saved me, and now it was time for me to do something for her too.

.....

I walked into the room and the first thing I felt was chills. The room was so cold from the intimidating men surrounding the environment. I wanted to run back and act like I was never there, but they noticed me.

"Hey, you must be her" a guy walked over to my side, sniffing my hair. I couldn't take my eyes away from the scar on his forehead leading to his chest. It looked painful and he looked brutal.

I was scared of him and I hated the way he groped me. He was treating me like I was his prostitute and he had this entitlement towards my body. I didn't like it, so I tried pushing him away, but he was too strong to budge. The rest of the men didn't seem to give a damn about how he was assaulting me, and it felt like I was alone here. I did what I could to protect myself. I smacked his face hard, making him move back.

The men who didn't seem to give a damn about my existence suddenly noticed that I was here and growled at me. They hated that I hit one of their men, but I didn't regret it.

I turned to leave when I heard...

"And where the hell do you think you're going?" It was the deepest voice I had ever heard and, strangely enough, it felt familiar.

I turned and I met those rare purple orbs. The blood drained from my face. Could he be the same person from six years ago? Did I just walk into hell ?
