Chapter 2 The plane crashed

Ava woke to get ready for his trip, and while Clara prepared for the studio, she had an album to release, on thesame day.

He put a call to Sherman to see him off to the airport alongside his fiancée Clara.

"Good morning, brother, "Ava said on the phone.

"Are you set for the trip?" he asked Ava.

"Yes, I am done, ready to catch up with my flight." He answered. By then Sherman taken his breakfast; he was awake, expecting Ava's call. He then arrived to pick Ava from home to the airport.

"She won't be going with us." Sherman refused to let Clara go with them.

"Why, if I should choose who goes with to the airport, it should be Clara." Ava defends her.

"Who then am I to you, brother?" Sherman asked.

"Sherman You are my twin brother, and I know we have loved each other, but here is my fiancee; please give her some respect. She has to go with us. Or you stay back." Ava sounded.

Sherman kept a minute of silence and stared at Clara. "Let go." He said and allow Clara to go with them.

"Sherman, do you truly love me as your brother?" Ava asked, standing with his cot on his hand while Clara was holding his briefcase.

"Yes, I do. You are my only sibling, my twin brother, and it is my duty to love you as well." He answered.

"Do likewise to Clara; she is part of me, and at the same time, she deserves some respect from you."

"Ava, can we take off to the airport? I don't have all the time for this. I am condoling this from you due to the bond we share. Otherwise, she stay back." Sherman said.

Clara maintained silence; she didn't say a word; she kept silence so as not to come between the brothers.

The two went into the car and had the car driven by Sherman with Clara sitting at the back. On reaching the airport, Ava stepped down, kissed Clara on her cheek, after that, he hugged his twin brother. He then caught up with his flight.

By the way, Sherman ignored Clara; he didn't say a word to her, but rather read the news on his phone. Suddenly, within thirty minutes of being at work, a news broadcast announced the crash of an airplane. He looked at the number and realized that it was the same plane Ava was.

"This can't be. What is wrong?" He became confused. He called the airport to verify himself, then his parents were also yet to verify also.

"What is wrong? Where is Ava? Was he on the same plane?" Norah sounded curious to Sherman on phone.

"Calm down, mother; I am yet to verify." He tried calming his parent on phone.

He was about to drop the phone when Clara barged into his office.

"Where is Ava? Was he in the plane? Does that mean he is gone?" She asked, panicking.

"Excuse me, young lady, go fix yourself while I try tracing my brother's corpse." He sounded rude.

"You can't say that to me. He is your brother and, at the same time, my fiancee." She said it with tears running down her cheek.

He saw her presence as a distraction and had to call his security to drive her out of the office.

"I do not want to see her kind in my office. Take her out of here now, or else I will get you fired." He pointed at the security man.

Clara was asked to leave, or else she would be forced to do so by security. She became confused and left the office, fearful of not bringing the news to Ava's parents without knowing that they knew about it.

She boarded a taxi, leaving her car at her studio. "Oh my God!" She screamed in the taxi confused. And when the taxi driver dropped her, she quickly rushed into the house, seeing Lucas and Norah weeping.

She felt pain and started crying.

"This can't be true. Ava can't leave me like this." She cried out her pains.

"Calm down; a search has been going on to know about his ways; we should believe that he is still alive." Lucas consoling them. In a little while, Sherman arrived. He verified and realized from the airport that no one survived the crash; he got to see the disease burn without a trace.

"What a Tracy has befallen us." Norah weeps, coming closer to Sherman's.

"Where is your brother? Don't tell me that he is gone." She sobbed.

"There was no trace of his body, he said, nodding his head. At this point, Lucas couldn't hold himself any longer, and tears started running from his eyes.

Clara, on the other hand, traced Ava picture on the frame on the wall. She looked at it and wept more. She could not leave the family, nor did she stop looking at the pictures.

At the same time, Raine, the geologist, had rushed Ava to the hospital, which was out of Ava's hometown.

"Doctor, how is he?" Raine said, as doctor George, had administered to Ava.

"Come with me to the office." Said the doctor. Raine quickly went with him to his office, where he was asked to sit.

"He is fine; he didn't sustain much injury, but I think his brain was affected; he had lost his memory." Doctor George said.

Raine breathed down; he felt some pain in his heart.

"What do you think I should do in this situation? I am just rendering him some help."

"Why not have the press take his picture and announce him public, one among his relative might recognize him?"" George advised him.

"I will do that later." He answered, biting his lips.

"This will be the only way you can help, rather than allow him to pass through this at thesame time be a liability to you."

"

"I'm scared; someone may claim to know him, and with that, get him arm,." Raine responded.

"And you think keeping him with you is save?" He asked.

"Yes, he answered and asked more. "Doctor, will he still regain his memory?"

Doctor George breathed down, and when he left his head to give Raine hope, he said

"He will, and that will take him a long time."

"How long precisely?" Raine was so eager.

"Twenty-four months precisely, and when it persists, he has no option but to adapt to the environment in which he has found himself." Doctor George answered him.

"I will do my best." Raine answered. He then stood and made his way to Ava Ward. Then Ava was already awake; he sat on the bed, wondering where he was. He had forgotten anyone.

"Young man, am Raine by name and you?" He asked Ava.

Ava kept staring at Raine with a surprise look.

"Doctor George was right on what he said. The young man has lost his memory. Nevertheless, I won't be in a hurry to make a trace of his relative; otherwise, he will fall into bad hands. I have to be careful at the same time." He said to himself,
