Chapter 7 Insane

The goddess of the moon gave me extraordinary grace. Despite my lack of strength, I've always been informed that I have excellent hand-eye coordination and reaction quickness.

Unbeknownst to me, I was also endowed with an enormous amount of energy, which enabled me to irritate people everywhere I went without having to do anything!

Fantastic, don't I?

When I came back to reality, Talia's fierce expression greeted me.

Oh my, the person is insane.

She gives a forceful instruction, "Get up." Her eyes were sharp and cold.

"Um, okay?" I slowly get out of the chair, confused, and look up into the eyes of hundreds of wolves.

What went wrong with me?

Yes, exactly.

I was real.

"Come closer now," she commands in a repulsed manner. I was really confused by the way she was treating me. What had gone wrong with her?

My eyes flickered to Scarlett and Giovanni, who were grinning smugly, and then to Emilio, who was grinning foolishly as usual. Beta Felix doesn't move, and I make an effort not to see Theo's unblinking gaze as it fixes itself on me.

"No," I firmly tell her.

After just a single day in our pack, hundreds of wolves have already tried to get under my skin.

Rogue, you heard me," snarls Talia. Now, extend your small legs and bow down in front of me."

Talia is satisfied when she hears the mother, who is seated next to me, gasp and give her child a tighter hug. I give the mother and the youngster a heartless glare. I'd be lying if I said that didn't make me give them a smug grin as they scurried even farther away from me.

I had concealed my fragrance so easily that they had not recognized my title. I completed the task virtually every day.

"Why? Is your boyfriend's dick so little that you feel compelled to criticize my weak legs?

"Awaken," with a snarl.

"Yes, indeed." I feign slumber. "Is that what you told your lover's d-"

"I'm granting you the option to stay silent. Make use of it before I snap and rip you to pieces with my own hands."

Tell myself to stop talking. My frustration increased, though, as I was unable to ignore the grating expressions all around me. "Oh, I'm sorry. I thought you already lost your temper a long, long time ago."

She let forth a growl from her chest. "I don't think anyone has told you this yet, rogue," she glares at me, telling me. "However, the Royal Crimson Pack is this. Theo's rules, Theo's pack. You have to do as we say."

"I apologize, madam," I say with an exaggerated bow. "But are you so naive that I have to tell you that I break the rules? I'm not like the others. You stupid, you said it yourself."

I raise my chin to meet her acrimonious eyes while maintaining eye contact.

Although these individuals were incredibly beautiful, their demeanor belonged in a shithole.

She says, bitchily, "I don't think you fully know your position in here, sweetheart."

"Are you done practicing the lines for your stupid play or not?" I lose it. "'Cuz I'm getting really tired waiting for a scene where you finally shut up."

This was not a woman I could comprehend. She was irrational, dubious, and incredibly impetuous. I figured her outburst was related to Theo's companions.

Nevertheless, nothing they said to her was sufficient to excuse her reckless actions.

She was just making a fool of herself.

Talia gracefully gets up from the chair and walks over to face me. But her angry visage broke through her sophisticated exterior.

I take care to maintain eye contact. Her enraged gaze was fixed on my own pair of annoyed eyes.

Her face was near mine soon enough, peering down on my diminutive frame. A smug smirk appears on her face, as though this gives her more confidence.

For the record, I wasn't at all put off by her. She was only a warrior, after all, and she misused her power. The instant she acted rashly, she lost both her dignity and my nonexistent regard for her.

I try to irritate her more with a sneer.

I remained silent as her gaze shifted to my clothes-Theo's attire. She looks at me with rage in her eyes and retreats a step, as though I've just burned her.

I mean, I know I'm hot, but I had no idea I was that attractive.

"Remove it," she snarls. When I realize this, my lips open and turn into an asymmetrical grin. Her almond eyes glistened with jealousy, and I was starting to believe that she hated me because I was Theo's partner.

Or perhaps all she really wanted was to be me.

"Do you like me that much that you want to see my bare body already?"

In the stillness of the room, I hear Emilio snicker. Recognizing the agitation that electrified the room, he uncomfortably clears his throat.

This woman was insane. She was really, really mad; I'm simply stating that. She was so enraged that her mouth formed a scowl, and she regularly emitted an awful growl from her short, pointed nose.

I'll confess that it was a little frightening, but my strange sense of humor made me giggle despite my dread.

She lunges at me, snatching my neck and using her amazing strength to force me up against the wall.

I was having trouble breathing, but I managed to squeeze out another laugh.

"I, Talia Robinson, Head Warrior of the Royal Crimson Pack, challenge you for the Luna Position," she says with authority.

There's a chorus of gasps and conversation in the room.

I turn to face Theo and meet his pleased gray eyes. He had stopped giving me his warm, fuzzy smile earlier. He looks directly into my eyes as he tilts his head and takes a sip of wine.

My rage grows. He exhibits inconsistent behavior, acting like a jerk one moment and a normal mate the next. To my fury, he was a perplexing man.

I cough out, maintaining eye contact with Theo, "I, Alexandria Catalina, accept your challenge for the Luna position."

She just smiles, refusing to release her hold on my neck.

Alright, you impulsive jerk.

I lift my hand and give her a gentle brushing, then I feel for a particular pressure spot on the back of her neck and give it a heavier hit than I meant to.

Her confused expression was the last thing I noticed before she fell to the ground.

I pop my knuckles and then look up. I spy a sly little smirk of deception on Theo's attractive face.

All the people in this group were crazy.

Isn't this fate, surely?

Since I was equally insane.
