Ethan stepped into the attic, where time seemed to stand still. Dust particles floated in the beam of his flashlight. He found a rickety stool and sat down, his flashlight illuminating an old leather journal resting on a wooden crate. The journal, worn and cracked, seemed to pulse with history. The figure stepped closer, his presence both chilling and magnetic. "I am Dr. Jonathan Aldridge," he replied, his voice raspy yet resonant, echoing in the nearly empty attic. "I've been waiting for you, Ethan. You are needed to finish my work."

Ethan stared in disbelief. He had always held a fascination for the paranormal, but encountering it in this manner was a completely different experience.

"What do you mean?" he asked softly, his curiosity battling against his fear.

"I was creating an antidote for Virion X," Dr. Aldridge explained, his voice echoing throughout the space. "However, I ran out of time. You possess the skills and determination to complete my work. Will you take on this vital task?"
