Chapter 1 Regrets

SAN FRANSISCO - KLEIN'S MANSION

Charvie's body trembled, her eyebrows furrowed, and her eyes squeezed shut as she tossed and turned in bed. "Alle... fucking let me get into the hospital!" Charvie panted out of her nightmare, her heart racing like a wild animal. The bed sheets beneath her drenched with sweat.

As she slowly got herself back, she reminded herself it was just a dream. Yet, the memory of it lingered, haunting her. Why must she have this crazy nightmare every night?

With a deep breath, Charvie threw off the covers and swung her legs over the side of the bed. Her long blonde hair cascaded down her back like a golden waterfall, and her porcelain skin seemed almost ethereal in the dim light. She stood at five feet five inches, her slender figure moving with grace as she made her way to the washroom.

As she gets into the washroom, she stood in front of a large mirror, pulling down her bathrobe, staring at her body, which she blamed herself for later on, as her regrets from five years, comes back haunting her even than the nightmare.

5 YEARS AGO » TEXAS.

"Charvie, you must help your sister!" Mrs. Klein's voice echoed through the hospital ward, her eyes blazing with desperation. Charvie's heart raced as her father approached her, his hand hidden in his pocket.

"I won't do it! What if I get caught?" Charvie protested, her voice shaking.

Mr. Klein smirked, his eyes glinting with a sinister light. "This is our family's livelihood, Charvie. We've been doing this for years, and no one has ever gotten caught." He revealed a needle and white powder which he brought out from his pocket, with his voice dripping with menace. "This is a family heirloom Charvie... and you will use it to save your sister."

Charvie's eyes widened in horror as her father's words hung in the air like a dark promise.

And that was how the plotting began, and that night, the Klein family were well prepared, dressed very well for the night party.

Charvie adjusted her covert earpiece, making sure she could hear her family signals clearly, as she chatted with one of the elites daughter she had met in the party to kill time.

She stood beautifully in a daring black dress, which stopped on her mid thigh, her lips painted in a dark red lipstick, akin to the color of blood, she ignored the men who tried asking her out, as she couldn't wait to get away from the suffocating air, this rich people where giving.

"He is here," her ear piece crackled to life, as her mother's voice came through.

Turning to the hall entrance, her heart skipped millions of beats, as she stood transfixed, staring at the masculine figure who had just walked into the hall, with another man, who Charvie assumed to be his guard, walking behind him "I..is he the one?"

"Yes." Her mom replied "we would help you find a way to spike his drink, then you can follow him home, I know he his with lot of men, but you will survive." Her mother assured.

The crazy assurance that led to her regrets....she jolts back to the present, as she tries to make the past stay hidden again, but no, her mind tend to be stubborn, bringing the most troubling part.

The minute she had perfectly sneaked into his hotel room, in one of the largest hotel in Texas, after she thought he was asleep, due to the stuff her family added to his drink.

She wore a beautiful masquerade mask, which stopped below her nose "I am in." A sigh of relief escaped her lips, as she stood in the warmly lit room which source of light came from the moon light, peering into the room.

"The drug would wear off after fifty minutes, be quick, papa and mama loves you, save your sister, we are waiting." Her mother's voice, couldn't even clear the fear enveloping her mind.

Sweat broke out of her forehead, her heart raced, as she moved towards the king sized bed, before she stops, noticing the outline of a figure under the cover, asleep, she guessed.

'what if she gets caught?' 'what if something went wrong?'

She pulls out a bag under her dress, as she made to his wardrobe "This is just an hotel room, are you sure it going to be like his normal room?" She asked but didn't get any reply "mom..mom!" she called again, but no response.

She pushed the wardrobe door open, taking out most of his shirt, putting it in her bag, she rushed to his drawer, opening it, she was surprised to items of sparkling gold.

She took out a gold ring, which she was sure would cost a fortune "Damn the rich!!" She whispered, but as she made to put it into her bag, a large muscular arm, encircled her tiny neck.

"Who are you? What do you want?" Her heartbeat palpitated, her breathing stuck down her throat, as she heard the husky voice above her, laced with anger.

The bag in her hand fell on it own "I..i am sorry." She managed to say, in a cat like whisper, and the grip on her neck seemed to loosen a bit.

She heard a throaty laughter behind her, sending goose pimples down her arms, and chills down her spine "You drugged me?"

'He knows about it¿' she started planning on ways to escape in her mind, she still had a mask on, and he can't see her face.

Without hesitation, Charvie instinctively reacted to break free. With a swift motion, she drove her elbow backward, aiming for his stomach, ready to strike and save herself, but he was fast, bending her elbow backwards "Fvck.." she groaned in pain, as her neck fell to the back, as she found her eyes, pairing into the deep set of enchanting blue eyes.

With her head resting on his shoulder, he released his grip from her neck, still holding her elbow back, as his finger began tracing down her neck line, making her gulp.

"What were you trying to do?" He inquired "escape?"

The musk scent coming from him was so ethereal, driving her senses to sleep, as his breath fanned the side of her face "Let me go!"

"The guts." He began driving his finger tip back up to her face, and to the rope of her mask, and her eyes widened abruptly, before she felt herself thrown away, having her loose footing, as her butt fell on the bed.

"Take it off." His voice was authoritative, as he pointed at the mask on her face.
