I handed her the other contract.

Watching her leave happily, I quietly made a phone call.

If we're going to do this, we need to be thorough in every way.

After finishing these tasks, I immediately replaced the security door at my home.

I also went to another place to purchase a new property.

This home was no longer safe. Braelynn had been by my side for so many years and knew all my properties inside out. If Jerred went berserk, I would be left with no escape.

I looked at the background information on Jerred.

This man named Jerred had gotten married three years ago but had beaten his wife into a vegetative state after a violent outburst.

He had only recently been released.

Braelynn met him because her university was constructing a new building and had hired a group of construction workers from outside.

Jerred was among them.

According to Braelynn, she was immediately attracted to Jerred's impressive muscles the first time she saw him.

His fists were as big as sandbags.

Standing in front of the petite Braelynn, he could easily envelop her, giving her a strong sense of security.

A man like him wouldn't give Braelynn a sense of security with his fists; he would beat her to death.
