Chapter 3 Rumors and faceslap

Emily could not hide her jealousy when she found out that Jake was the lead protagonist.

She could not do anything for him when they were together, but Arabella got him the role.

So funny, she had just finished her afternoon shoot. Her assistant little snow brought her phone to her.

" Ma'am you have a call from an unknown number", she looked at Emily, seeking permission if she should decline.

Emily collected the phone from little snow and picked it, " Hello" she said.

" Is this Emily tordoff" the caller asked, without any formalities.

" Yes and who's this" Emily asked, opening her lunch box. The survival team are rich, so the luck is rich, and they stay in a five-star hotel.

" Catherine Sinclair" the caller replied. Emily sighed, couldn't she be free from these people?

" I have a deal for you" Catherine said, not caring about what Emily felt.

" I'm not interested in whatever you have" Emily said about hanging up.

" Even if it involves fame and money", Catherine mocked.

" What do you have to offer" Emily asked, thinking about the great deals Catherine would have for her.

" I know you'll be interested. Meet me at the bar close to your shooting location at 7pm, not a minute late" Catherine hung up rudely.

" Do you want to meet with her". Little snow was not sure what Emily was planning.

Emily is blinded by fame and money. The Emily she knows isn't like this. What happened to her?

" I have to be a popular actress. That's the only way I can be fulfilled". Emily clenched her fist.

" Ain't you tired of thinking about only fame all the time only" someone mocked at the door. Little snow and Emily doesn't need a seer to know its Jake.

" Thought you got married yesterday, why are you here? Is Arabella Sinclair a dictating wife " Emily mocked, sipping water.

" Is Mark hurting you" Jake asked immediately. He noticed the scar on her face.

Emily smirked, so he still loved her. Then she could use Arabella's influence.

" Why do you care? I thought you got married", Emily said.

" You're still a friend" Jake moved closer to Emily, but they were interrupted by Kelly. She looked puzzled at the unspeakable position.

" I'm sorry if I interrupt something", Kelly turned and left, thinking Jake would follow her, but he did not move an inch.

Arabella went back home after a hectic day at the office. She could not settle down, so she sent Kelly to check on Jake.

She sat on the sofa in the movie room eating popcorn, but she wasn't concentrating. She has never felt love her entire life.

The first man she loved dumped her for her cousin Catherine.

Now, Jake is still into Emily. Was she born without a lover from heaven? She mocked her bad luck.

Kelly walked out of the hotel sadly. Arabella would be disappointed and heartbroken if she informed her.

" I'll have to keep this to myself", Kelly thought as she entered the black sports car that belonged to Arabella.

Catherine walked into the bar elegantly. She wore a chiffon shirt and a black pencil skirt. She had just left the office after sketching plans on how to take over the company.

She thought hard and discovered Jake was the only way to get Arabella, and she'd do that quickly before grandpa Sinclair declared her the CEO of the company.

She put on a dark shade so as not to be recognized. It seems to be the first time she'll enter a place like this. She looked disgusted.

She saw Emily sitting in a dark corner sipping alcohol. " Smart" she thought, and walked to her.

" What do you have for me?" Emily didn't want to beat around the bush. She wants to go back for her night shoot.

" Smart girl" Catherine praised. She took out a script from her bag and dropped it on the table.

"This is going to be director Simeon's biggest production before he retires," Catherine stated.

Emily was tempted, she was ready to do anything to get her hand on the script.

" State your mission", Emily declared after composing herself.

" Make Jake leave Arabella within two weeks, and you get the leading female protagonist", Catherine smirked.

" Two weeks", Emily wanted to confirm before she agreed to it.

" Yes, Gamers will start shooting next month, and you can abandon director Falon movie for Simeon" Catherine explained.

" Sounds like a good idea", Emily thought hardly. She'll do it. She's sorry for the second time, but she has to survive.

She agreed to separate Arabella and Jake within two weeks to get the script, but she would not leave survival without thinking of a plan.

She opened a phone contact and looked at the number and dialed it without a second thought.

" I'm scared, they're after me, I'm drunk, I'm in the bathroom" she pleaded and hung up.

Jake got up from his bed immediately and tried to call Emily countless times, but she didn't pick him up.

Evans was just coming back from the bar when he saw Jake rushing out.

" Where are you off to" he asked. He was a bit drunk, probably out of happiness.

" Emily is in danger, she just called me now. I'll be back". Jake turned to go, but Evans dragged him back.

" What if you're captured together, Jake? Have you thought of how Arabella would feel," Evans yelled?

" I don't care. I only care about Emily and that's final", Jake yelled and walked out slowly.

Evans shook his head and turned to go upstairs but saw Arabella looking at him. She wore shorts and a sweatshirt and home slippers.

She looked like a wife running to get a meal for her husband.

Evans was shocked. How would he explain his friend's insolence and attitude?

" I can explain," he moved closer to Arabella but she only smiled sadly. " I came at the wrong time". Arabella turned and walked out of the hotel.

Little snow stood and watched everything happening. What's wrong with Emily? Is she trying to destroy a peaceful home?

Jake drove like a maniac to the bar and went to the female restroom. He banged the door shouting out loud.

" Open the door Emily, it's Jake" he yelled. Emily opened the door and fell on his chest crying.

She soaked his shirt with tears and her body was shivering. He was sad and hurt who would hurt a gentle lady like her?

He knows she dumped him for fame, but he's ready to do better, to stand beside her.

" I was almost raped. I thought I called little snow. I'm sorry to bother you", she wiped her tears.

Jake pulled her closer and smiled. " It's fine I'm here, let's report to the police " Jake suggested.

" No, I'm a celebrity, and I'll be criticized " Emily shook violently.

She really deserves an Oscar award as the best actress. She acted so natural that Jake couldn't detect any lie.

His heart ached, and he almost burst out of anger.

Arabella entered in her black double R (a rolls Royce) looking down and heartbroken.

James doesn't need a seer to know what the problem is. He knows how much she's down and worried.

" Ma'am, where should I take you to" he asked, hoping she'd suggest a bar so she could drink her sorrow away.

This is the second man that'll break her heart. He felt like crushing the blind Jake for not seeing how sincere she was.

" Take me home. I need to go home to rest. I have to plan the company's anniversary coming up this weekend end" she replied in tears.

She could not take it anymore. Why is everything going badly for her? Why is life so unfair to her? She must be suffering for her parents' sins?

James looked at her through the rear mirror and almost cried. She has been standing strong for so long, she needs a shoulder to cry on.

The next day, the city was busy and everyone moved about their daily life. Social media warriors were all busy criticizing the two lovers caught on camera.

Jake, the husband of Arabella Sinclair and his ex-girlfriend, the female lead protagonist in the movie," survival "together in the bar.

They looked so intimate that nobody would think they were not married or about to get married.

Falon looked at both of them, seems they're unaware of the battle going on between social media warriors.

" I think Emily needs to rest", director Falon said. He faced one of the minor actors to start shooting when Emily stopped him.

" Do you believe the news on Instagram too" she asked, pretending to look disappointed and heartbroken.

" You knew?" Director Falon was shocked to see that she knew about the battle ongoing on Instagram.

" You don't trust me or are you going to change me" Emily asked, looking down. " Arabella Sinclair told you to dump me right," she asked, and knelt down.

" Please forgive me,I'll go away from Jake and tell her not to hurt my mom and my family. Please, I'm ready to apologize to her", she pleaded in tears.

The whole crew seemed shocked and surprised at the sudden outburst. Mixed emotions were on their faces, some felt pity for her while others felt she deserved it.

" How dare you? What are you saying? That I have no morals" director Falon was pissed. He yelled angrily.

" So Arabella told you to remove Emily from her role because she's jealous", Jake yelled.

" You should hear Arabella's own side of the story first", Evans tried to help Jake reason since his sense of reasoning had been shut out completely.

"Take care of Emily,. Little snow. I'll be back" Jake left . Evans quickly followed him so he wouldn't do anything stupid.

Director Falon looked at Jake and shook his head. He looked at Emily and sighed.

" We should continue" he said to the other actors and actresses.

Emily went inside her room with little snow and smiled. " So easy" she laughed.

" Are you doing this on purpose" little snow was angry. Emily dumps Jake and is not ready to see Jake move on. She's such a freak.

"Get me my phone,I need to speak to my fans" Emily ignored little snow and collected her phone. She logged into her Instagram account.

Emily almost spit out blood after reading through some comments.

Arabella Sinclair is in the business world and Emily is in the entertainment world . Arabella Sinclair has convinced a lot of people but Emily tordoff is just starting.

Her phone rang, and she picked it up like she was expecting it, "Why are you calling?" she yelled.

She hates her family so much. Her father is dumb, he can't talk without using sign language and her mother is old, weak and poor.

Emily won the face of the school award in high school. She had an interview with the online school community teacher. She was filled with smiles.

" Emily tordoff is pretty indeed", the online school community teacher praised her and she blushed.

" Thank you" she waved her hand, smiling happily.

" Tell us a little about your parents and family. Everyone is curious " the online school community teacher asked.

She clutched her fist tightly. That's the question she dreaded the most. She's a scholarship student, otherwise her parents will only be able to afford the community high school.

" Well, my parents are not in city Z, they're abroad, so that's why you'll have heard nothing about them" she said.

" Wow, that means your parents should be able to speak foreign languages " the online school community teacher was interested.

She nodded happily.

She'll hire parents for herself to survive in this industry.

She started a live video. As an actress it wasn't long before tears started falling from her eyes like a river.

Jake arrived at Sinclair's company. He did not notice how big the company was because he was blinded by anger.

" The CEO's office" he asked the receptionist.

" Hi sir", the receptionist tried to be polite, but she was still nervous because of Jake's intense gaze.

" The topmost floor" she said, without thinking twice. Evans was awed at the company. But he wasn't here to admire the company, so he followed Jake quickly.

Jake wanted to barge into Arabella's office after the elevator landed, but he was stopped by James.

" How dare you " Jake roared angrily

" I'm sorry you can't go in" he declared. James was really furious.

" Tell Arabella to return Emily's role to her else I'll divorce her", Jake threatened.

" What?" James laughed in ridicule. " You would be nothing without Arabella's influence " he laughed.

" She'll be the abandoned wife of ordinary James. How about that?" Jake wasn't ready to listen to James. The door opened and Kelly stood looking at Jake sternly.

" Go in" she ordered, and Jake barged in. Kelly looked at James and they both shrugged.

Arabella was sipping her tea slowly, going through documents, when Jake barged in.

" How dare you" Jake yelled. Arabella already knew what had happened because of the argument she heard outside.

" You can only listen to Emily without hearing my own side of the story" she questioned.

" What? You think I'll believe you", Jake mocked, " I'll divorce you if you do that", he threatened.

" Do you think I'm bothered" Arabella laughed, sipping her tea. She picked up her phone and called director Falon

" When is Emily's next shoot " she asked directly.

" Noon" director Falon answered without suspecting anything.

" Thanks" Arabella hung up and faced Jake. His face was a bit pale. He was so embarrassed. Evans and Kelly stood behind looking at him.

" I'll take my leave then," Jake declared. He was too ashamed to stay there any longer.

" If you have shame at least you should apologize" Evans said quietly.

" It's the company's celebration end of this weekend. We should go shopping now". Arabella got up and walked out of her office.
