Chapter 9 A happy family

Jake entered opals garden and went straight to his room but he met the door to his room locked. He looked at the maid behind him for explanation "Miss Sinclair requested for it to be locked" she said.

Jake knocked at Arabella's door, "come in" she commanded. He entered,she just had her bath and was still on her towel.

"I'll come back" Jake turned but Arabella dragged him back. "Don't you want me" she looked emotional.

Jake was not in his right mind to decline. She have a nice body but he still want to open his heart to her before anything.

"I don't think we should do something we would both regret" he tried to speak some sense into her head. Arabella laughed.

"Ain't you making me believe the rumours" she questioned. She knows the truth that Jake only went there to speak for her.

"Do you believe the rumours" Jake looked worried. He was scared she would misunderstood why he went to Emily's house.

"No I don't" Arabella shook her head. She let go of Jake's hand "I'll dress up I'm sorry" she turned to go but Jake dragged her back. "Are you sure you won't regret this" jr questioned.

Arabella nodded and smiled like a baby that got her favourite candy. "You'll be mine from now and no going back" Jake raised a brow but Arabella only nodded quickly.

The rays of the sun sipped in through the slightly opened curtain. Mike head throbbed hard. He peeled his eyes open and looked around.

This place looks familiar, he father opened the door. "You fool" he rushed towards him and slapped him hard across the face.

Mark felt his head light. He was shocked, his father never raised his hand to slap him but what's the problem?

"I warned you about Emily but you..." his father rushed towards him again but his mother screamed at the door "stop please" she pleaded.

His father stopped and walked out of the room. His mother gave him a glass of water and drugs for hud hangover.

He swallowed the pills and drank water. He felt better a bit " what happened to Emily" he questioned.

He was worried, he thought something bad happened to her. He knows he was wrong for threatening her but he was only insecure.

His Mom showed him the news on her phone. He was shocked "what happened to me yesterday" he asked his mother.

"I really don't know" his mother had dark circles probably because she didn't catch any sleep last night because of him.

His heart ache. He had a faint understanding of everything happening. Emily played her card well. He should have known.

"I'll be back mom" he quickly put on his shirt and ran out of the house. His mother looked at his shadow as it slowly faded.

Arabella followed Jake for the audition of director Simeon's new movie. He forced her though.

"Best of luck" Arabella concentrated on the document in her hands. Jake smiled and stole a kiss from her. He ran out of the car to prevent her anger.

Kelly and James smiled at Jake's childish attitude. Arabella smiled like an high school girl looking at her new lover.

Emily got down from her van,only little snow knows how difficult last night was to her.

She needs to pay her mom's hospital bills and only Emily is ready to help her. If you can't beat then you join them. Little snow is ready to join Emily.

Emily saw Jake and quickly ran to meet him, she knows reporters are lurking around. She wants to make things difficult for Jake.

"Jake" she called out. The reporters faced them. Seems Jake is making their relationship public.

Jake waited for her, Emily smiled and ran to meet him. She hugged him tightly. Jake pushed her away slightly but only her noticed this.

"Seems you're making your love go public"

"Are you going to abandon Arabella Sinclair"

"Are you playing two ladies"

"Are you here for Emily".

"Seems Arabella is here"

Those where questions the reporters asked. Arabella just got down from her car to give Jake his phone he forgot in the car when she saw Emily and Jake hugging.

Just last night she gave herself to Jake. She planned to give him a chance. He isn't over her yet, he wants Emily. Always Emily all the time.

Jake turned and saw Arabella he was shocked. "shit" he cursed. He pushed Emily away slightly.

He rushed to meet Arabella but she ran to her car "leave" she yelled at James who started the car and drove off.

Jake sighed and turned to look at Emily who has a smug smile on her lips "Mark forced me. I'm sorry, let's go back to how we used to be" she pleaded in front of the camera.

Jake laughed making Emily and the reporters tensed "Are you sure you were threatened" he questioned Emily angrily.

"What do you mean" the reporters questioned him because they already termed Emily as the victim.

"I think Mark should be one explaining that" Jake smirked. He put the cheats on tight spot. Emily turned and swallowed hard.

She was scared, she thought he would be hiding now but what is he doing here?she can't give up half way now.

"Tell them you threatened me. Tell Jake how much I love him" Emily went to meet Mark.

Mark pushed her away slightly and walked closer to the reporters "You all can criticize me right" he questioned the reporters.

"You hit her, we saw it clearly yesterday" a female reporter spoke up and the others nodded. They agreed.

"Explain this" he showed them the report he got from the city Hospital. They all know it is legit because the know the city Hospital.

He was drugged last night that was why he was brutal. This is so unbelievable.

"What does that have to what you did wrong,you've been brutalizing her all the time that was why she spoke up yesterday" a reporter said.

"Yes I've been the victim" Emily cried putting on a pity face.

"I'll question the city bar then. How come I was drugged? I guess I'll have to sue them instead" Mark declared.

Emily shivers "What would happen if she's caught" she questioned herself.

"Emily and Jake broke up because of Me. Jake married Arabella after his breakup with Emily" Mark took the blame after everything shocking Emily,Jake and the reporters.

"But Jake went to Emily's house last night" the reporters questioned.

"How did the video of a CCTV camera got exposed" Mark Suspected Emily and the reporters faced her.

Did she post the video? Is she still into her ex? Then she's not so innocent after everything.

"I'll sue the city bar and keep you'll informed" Mark walked towards Jake "This is all I can do for you and Arabella" he said. "Go after her" he encouraged Jake.

Arabella packed her clothes and accessories inside a box. She needs to leave city z to clear her head. She hates everything here.

Jake burst in,he was sweating. "Arabella" he held her hands preventing her from packing her clothes.

"Let me go" Arabella yelled and started crying. Jake hugged her trembling body tightly.

"I used to be blind but I'll never fall for her tricks again" he explained himself to her.

"You hugged her in from of everyone" she punched his hard chest. He did not feel the pain though.

"Are you jealous" Jake smiled. Arabella didn't want to hide her emotions anymore. She nodded slowly.

Jane hugged her more tightly "Do you love me" he questioned. He wanted to be sure about her feelings.

"I do,I fell in love with you before we met at the bar that night" she choked up. She could not explain how she's feeling.

"I don't know what I feel though, but my heart ache when you're in pain. I feel the urge to protect you from any Harm, I have the urge to hurt anyone who makes you cry. My heart squeeze anytime you're hurt but my belly sweet when you're close and I get shy" Jake explained his feelings.

"Is that love" he questioned and Arabella laughed like a child.

"No" she said "I don't know what it is" she replied.

Catherine watched the news live "So Emily can be this scared of someone" she laughed. She knows Emily to be proud but hearing his name makes her shiver.

Enzo walked past Catherine. They've been in war ever since they expressed themselves.

Catherine felt guilty and sad at the same time. She wants to keep her child but she's scared. She's scared of hurting her baby,but seeing Enzo, she will keep the child.

She'll tell him,she can't go on. She'll keep her baby no matter what.

Enzo drove to the city bar and drank himself to stupor. He was sad. No one could understand him like himself.

He slumped on the table and did not know anything.

Little snow shiver in fear. "You have to do it little snow else you'll lose your mother" Emily threatened.

Little snow shiver in fear. Earlier today, Emily found out Catherine made a deal with Mark and she wants to revenge on Catherine.

But who would have thought Catherine's husband will be here at this time of the night? If little snow take advantage of him and get evidence, she'll be able to get money from him.

On the surface Emily is helping little snow but deep truth she's trying to take advantage of Enzo's connection and money.

He'll do anything to stop his secret from going out and ruining his family's reputation.

Enzo peeled his eyes open slowly, he felt someone moved, thinking it was Catherine he held her tenderly.

Little snow opened her eyes and shriek in fear. "I'm sorry" she said in a whisper.

"Who are you" Enzo screamed when he saw her face. Little snow was shivering, she was in tears. She shouldn't have done this but she already promised herself to join Emily.

Emily entered the room laughing "Mr Enzo" she laughed.

"Emily" he was shocked. What's going on? Enzo thought. He can't imagine the consequences if what's he's thinking was what happened.

"You just hurt a little girl" Enzo noticed the blood on the bed. His heart sank "I have evidence too" Emily mocked.

"What do you want" Enzo questioned.

"Money and your connection. I heard you have that" Emily gasped and laughed.

"I'll give you whatever you want,this mustn't get out" Enzo threatened and Emily laughed "At your service my lord" she walked out of the room leaving Enzo and little snow.

Little snow felt ashamed. Enzo got up and walked to the bathroom. He dressed up and left little snow.

Grandpa Sinclair invited his grandchildren for dinner. His maids prepared a lot of dishes. Grandpa Sinclair looked very happy.

Eliza and her husband came first. Eliza's husband is Royals and don't like getting involved in family tussle. He like his quiet time and peaceful life.

Arabella and Jake entered next. They dressed casually. Arabella held Jake hand smilling sweetly.

"Sister"she hugged Eliza happily. Jake and prince Williams shook hands. Grandpa Sinclair was very happy. Arabella hugged him before having her seat.

Grandpa Sinclair invited orchestra to play for them. Catherine and Enzo entered. Catherine was full of smiles but Enzo looked lost.

The ladies hugged each other and the men shook hands. The orchestra started playing driver's licence by Olivia Rodrigo

The family ate slowly and peacefully as they enjoy their meal. No one would Suspect the silent tussle between them.

They looked harmonious. Grandpa Sinclair wished his family would be this peaceful. He wished no one would be greedy and they'll just enjoy their moments.

They were filled with smiles as grandpa Sinclair told then about his stories. He told them a lot of funny stories making them laugh.

"I have something to say" Catherine said making everyone stop and looked at her. Enzo clenched his fist angrily "what's she trying to say" he thought.

"Grandpa I hope you'll give me your blessings. I'm carrying your great grandchild" Catherine announced.

She had thought about everything,she can't give up on her child because of material things. She can't lose her chance of being mother.

Enzo looked shocked, he didn't know how to react. He thought she would be blinded by greed but who would have thought? He could not be happy because he cheated.

Enzo felt guilty and sad. How can he right his wrong?

Arabella was both shocked and happy. Who would have thought Catherine would carry a child for Enzo?

"I'll leave the company to take care of me child" she said. Eliza raised a brow. Is that giving up on the company? No one would believe Catherine would leave everything for her baby.

Enzo felt more guilty because Catherine is giving up on everything for his child but he did something stupid behind her back.

Grandpa Sinclair was so happy "That's good Catherine I'm so happy. I'll give my great grandchild five percent of the company's share" everyone was shocked.

That means Catherine is the owner of fifteen percent shares in the company. Eliza smiled happily. She's happy for her sister.
