Chapter 6 Who's the love of your life

Jake looked at Emily and clenched his fist. Her eyes were closing. He closed his eyes, he promised to help Arabella get her right back, but helping Emily right there would lead to a lot of gossip.

He turned and saw Evans looking at him. Jake knew what was going through Evans' mind. " Can you please save Emily?" He asked from Evans.

He rushed towards Arabella. "Make way", he shouted, and knelt on the floor close to Arabella.

"I'm fine" Arabella looked away and tried to get up and fell back. Jake caught her half way, " listen to me and stop being stubborn", he commanded, and carried her out.

Grandpa Sinclair never expected Jake to help Arabella. Was he scared she'd lose her inheritance because of him? At least he still has a heart.

Grandpa Sinclair felt his belly sweet, he walked closer after Jake. His Butler followed him closely.

Emily was shocked beyond relief, she wasn't that hurt, but she pretended to be hurt, so Jake would dump Arabella again.

Catherine was shocked. What's going on? She rushed to Emily and called her guards to help her up, but she was stopped by Evans.

" I'm her friend, I'll do it", Evans said. Catherine snorted and left them.

Evans looked at Emily. "Well it seems Jake got free from your hypnosis", Evans mocked.

"What do you mean"? Emily raised a brow.

"He never told anyone he found you in bed with Mike... wait. Where's Mike?" Evans asked curiously. They were once friends anyway.

"None of your business, just help me up" Emily said, almost spitting out blood. She was angry .

Jake watched the doctor treat Arabella's wound. He felt his heart squeeze. If what he feels for Arabella is love, then what did he feel for Emily?

Was he scared to let go of his past? He really needs to find himself.

"I'm fine now, you can go check up on Emily" Arabella said to Jake. Zoe looked at Jake waiting for his reaction.

She thought Jake was a jerk like Enzo without any feelings, but after what happened today, she understands what is going through that big head of his.

"I'll go check up on her" Jake said, and left Arabella's ward. He needs to set boundaries with Emily, he's married, and he wants to try things out with Arabella.

He doesn't want to be tied up with his past. Emily cheated on him because of fame and money. She'll kill him because of that same fame and money.

After Jake left, Arabella almost spit out blood. "He left to see her". She was angry.

Zoe laughed at her childishness. "Why don't you teach him a lesson about that", Zoe questioned.

Arabella got up from her bed and faced James sharply. "Prepare a contract without considering his emotions", she declared.

Emily glared at Catherine, "What do you mean" she questioned, and got up furiously.

"What? You failed this little task. He dumped her and went for Arabella at the anniversary party. Isn't that a sign that you failed", Catherine mocked.

" I can't lose, I'll lose my chances because I'll be seen as a third party and a home wrecker" Emily yelled.

Emily is not ready to think of the consequences if she lost director Simeon's script. She has almost lost her chance and there's a higher possibility of losing her chance as the female lead of survival.

She hoped director Falon didn't change her because of the rumors she created herself.

" Make them divorce, and I'll give you what you need" Catherine couldn't control her emotions anymore.

"That wasn't the deal. Do you think I'm Arabella who doesn't know her enemies?" Emily mocked. " I have enough evidence to ruin you, do you think you'll still have a chance if this goes out?" Emily threatened Catherine.

Catherine clenched her fist, she was stupid not to know Emily. She should know Emily would do anything to be famous.

" I'll give you the chance, but we can make another deal", Catherine gave up.

" Good" Emily said and lay on her bed, "Jake and little snow will be coming soon to see me, so you can leave". Emily closed her eyes.

Catherine stomped her feet on the floor and walked out of Emily's ward.

Jake pushed the door open and entered Emily's ward. He had the urge to slap her, but he was not a woman beater, so he controlled his urge.

He looked at Emily and found her ugly. Fortunately, he didn't make the wrong decision. He would have been fooled by Emily for the second time.

Is she just blinded by fame that she couldn't think of anything else?

Emily opened her eyes, pretending to have just woken up from a deep sleep. "Jake, you're here.I thought you wouldn't come for me" she said, pretending to be sad.

Jake almost spit out blood looking at her. What a good actress. He would not be surprised if she got the best Actress award.

"I'm here to check up on you". He could not utter all the words he planned to say because he was scared and needed to protect his life.

How would she feel if she couldn't get the leading protagonist role in director Simeon's movie anymore because he found out? He'll no longer be useful to her again, so he might end up dead.

" I'll take my leave", he turned to go, but he felt someone holding him back. He turned, and saw Emily in tears.

" Please stay with me tonight, Jake," she pleaded. If it was a few hours ago, he'd stayed with her, but after everything he heard, he'd never have taken that risk.

"Arabella is hurt too. I'll call Mark". He left and met Evans at the door looking at him.

" Thanks for helping me, call Mark to come stay with his girlfriend. I have to go see Arabella"

" She has gone to opals garden already", Evans looked at Jake . Jake laughed "so silly", he thought.

She thought he was going to stay with Emily? Jake smiled at least he knew she still cared about him. He'll try his best to love her and care for her. She deserves love.

Arabella sat in the living room with Zoe. Kelly and James stood looking at her. She looked gloomy. Zoe almost laughed at her childishness.

Jane entered and looked around feeling awkward. "Are you still feeling pain", he asked Arabella, and moved closer to her, but she threw a document at him.

"You want a marriage contract? Then go through the contract and sign it", she declared. Jake smiled and sat down reading the contract.

Arabella almost burst out of anger. He still have the guts to read the document? Is he not scared of her wrath? She was fuming in anger, she had forgotten all the promises she made to herself that she'd make his and Emily's life a living hell.

Jake dropped the contract on the table and looked at Arabella. "If I open my heart to you will you still consider me?" He asked, straight.

Arabella was shocked, she could not find an answer to his question. Kelly and James' view of Jake has changed after what happened, but they couldn't forgive him for hurting Arabella.

" I saw you and Emily in an awkward position when I came to the shooting location the other day" Kelly said when she saw Arabella's face soften a bit.

She knew Arabella would fall into Jake's arms if she wasn't controlled, but Jake deserved to be taught a lesson.

"How dare you" Arabella punched his chest angrily.

" I'm Arabella Sinclair. Who do you think you are? Who are you to make me cry?" She questioned Jake.

"I'm a nobody, Arabella, but I want to be that man you can look up to. I want to be that man who would protect you. I made a mistake, and I'm ready to change for you alone," Jake said. His eyes welled up in tears.

Zoe coughed so she could control herself and not cry like a fool not in the presence of Jake.

"Let's stick to the contract, and I'll make your life a living hell" Arabella yelled angrily. She wanted to fall in his arms, but she didn't want to be that stupid girl.

She's a lady and ladies deserve to be treated as queens. So who is Jake to treat her like trash?

"You can make my love a living hell but leave Emily for me to handle. I know how to treat her and make her regret her actions", Jake said, gritting his teeth.

They all looked at Jake, wondering what Emily did to him to make him react this way, but Arabella felt her belly sweet.

" I'm not interested" she declared and got up, but Jake held her back. "I want the male leading protagonist in director Simeon's latest movie", he said, looking at her.

" Compete for it yourself and show how capable you are" Arabella pulled her hand away and looked away. Jake smiled.

" No, I can fight for it myself, but I want a fair fight because some people might pull ... you know" he looked at Arabella, hopefully.

" Then you lose" she walked away. Zoe stood up and followed Arabella.

Grandpa Sinclair stood outside and smiled. Was it this simple? He should have done this instead of having a discussion with him.

His Butler felt his belly sweet. He never thought Jake would be this reasonable. He almost sent Eden crest guards to beat the hell out of him.

The journey of love isn't easy. Some are born to have a straight path, some are born to have a bushy part, some are born not to find true love. But Arabella and Jake's journey is yet to be decided.

Emily was shocked when Mark entered. She thought Jake only wanted her to be good.

" How are you feeling" he smirked dangerously.

Emily shivered in fear, she thought she was playing her card well, but who would have thought Mark needed medical attention or was she hallucinating?

" I'll leave you for some time I'm going out. My guards will be outside", he walked out of her ward without caring.

Did she do the wrong thing by dumping Jake for mark? Emily was worried and scared at the same time.

Mr Thompson almost bit his tongue out of anger. This Jake of a guy will be a problem for him in the future.

He needs to cut the tree before it grows branches. But did he think Jake was easy to eliminate? He thought hard and sighed. He had no means to get Jake.

His assistant, Taylor, entered his study and bowed "I've gotten all the information you need about Emily Tordoff", he bowed.

Mr Thompson quickly collected the document from Taylor quickly and glanced through it. He sighed in relief.

" I thought Jake had no weakness, so she's his weakness" he laughed. Mr Thompson got up " prepare the car,I should visit Emily". Taylor followed him.

Emily was scared in her ward when Mr Thompson entered. He heard her conversation with Mark.

"Are you scared of him" he asked when he entered. Emily looked at him and recognized him at first glance Mr Thompson, the husband of the late lady of the Sinclair family.

"Are you here to revenge for your daughter" Emily asked, curling up on her bed.

" My daughter was here?" Mr Thompson was surprised. He wanted the company for himself and not his daughters, but who would have thought they had the same dream?

" Which of my daughters?" He asked curiously. Emily raised a brow.

" So you didn't know Catherine told me to get close to Jake to break Arabella's heart? The news about her being the third party was her handwork. You want to pretend to be ignorant?" Emily was furious.

" She did all that" Mr Thompson was shocked. " I really underestimated her", he thought, and looked at Emily.

" What did she promise you?" He was curious to know what his daughter promised her to make do things like that.

"Director Simeon's last movie. She promised I'd be the female lead", Emily said, welling up in tears.

"How about I promise you that if you do same thing" Mr Thompson asked. Emily glanced at him. She weighed the pros and cons. Mr Thompson seemed experienced and smart, unlike Catherine who was threatening her.

" What should I do" she asked. Mr Thompson smiled after he heard her question.

" Just deceive Jake to come to your house and leave the rest for me to handle" Mr Thompson thought of another plan.

"That's so simple, when I'm done with survival, I'll do that" Emily was tired and stressed at the same time.

Mr Thompson smiled and left Emily's ward happily. Emily closed her eyes tightly. Little snow entered her ward,"can't I have a peaceful rest" Emily sighed.

" Are you fine" little snow was worried. She sat down beside Emily "I'm sorry for not being able to protect you". Little Snow apologized.

Survival ended after three months of immense hard work from the cast. They decided to have dinner.

They order food at a five-star restaurant to have dinner. Jake wore casual black shorts and a black hoodie with his room Crocs. He looked sweet but casual. He wanted to sleep when director Falon informed him of the dinner.

He called Arabella throughout till he finished his shooting and he messaged her everyday. Though she insists it's a contract marriage, he didn't have to act sweet. Jake ignored her.

Emily wore a sleeveless long black dress adorned with sparkles. She looked like a Disney princess. She looked exquisite and sweet.

All the men in the restaurant looked at her, swallowing hard because she looked beautiful.

Jake ignored her, he sipped his wine slowly chatting with Arabella.

I'm done with shooting. Should I come home today? _ Jake

I'm in the office. I won't be available _ Arabella.

I'll come to the office to see you_ Jake

I'm not interested. I lost my position because of you _ Arabella

I'll get it back for you, okay? How are you doing? I've missed you_ Jake

It's a contract marriage Jake _ Arabella

I'm still your husband either way_ Jake

I hate you_ Arabella

Jake read their chats again and again and smiled. He really loved to make her angry. He must help her get her inheritance right back.

"I have something to say" Emily said, smiling. Everyone looked at her. One of the minor actresses hissed silently.

"Let's play truth or dare" she interrupted Emily. Director Falon looked at the little girl and looked at Emily.

" Okay, let's play truth or dare" Mr Falon agreed. Emily sat down angrily.

An empty bottle of wine was spined, and it faced Emily. Everyone looked at her, waiting for who'd ask her a question first. The minor actress that suggested the game got up.

"Truth of dare" she asked Emily. She doesn't like Emily because Arabella Sinclair is her time model. Her time model was criticized because of Emily, and she wanted to get revenge.

" Did Arabella Sinclair snatch Jake from you?" She asked. Her name is Charlotte.

Emily choked on her wine and glared at Charlotte. Jake looked calm, sipping his wine like a noble.

"Must I answer this?" Emily felt awkward.

" Yes you must" everyone answered. They are really curious, they all love Arabella Sinclair.

" Well, yes" she answered. Emily looked at Jake and smiled because he was quiet. She thought he agreed.

Charlotte spinned the bottle again and it faced Jake. "I have a question for you" Charlotte said, but Emily cut her shut "I have a question for him", Emily said.

"Go ahead" Jake said with a smirk. He knew what was going through her head. Charlotte stomped her feet on the floor angrily.

"Who is the love of your life" Emily asked, sipping her wine like a queen.

" I don't think this is necessary", Mr Falon tried to turn everyone's attention away, but Jake raised his hand to stop Mr Falon.

" Arabella Sinclair is the love of my life" Jake said, sipping his smile...
