Chapter 4
Only one self-study class had passed before Gabriela returned. She hadn't been gone long.
As soon as she sat down and was about to speak to me, a few loud shouts interrupted her.
"Gabriela, I love you!"
Our classmates craned their necks to see what was happening. I had experienced this scene once before, so I didn't need to look to know what was going on.
The hallway floor was covered with flowers and expensive chocolates. Aydan stood in the middle, holding a necklace from a well-known brand. Behind him, his colorful entourage stood on either side of the door, calling Gabriela the queen bee.
"I was just joking, didn't I tell you not to come?" Gabriela darted over, gently covering Aydan's mouth with her small hand in an intimate gesture. "I haven't agreed to anything! Stop letting them call me that!"

"Are you Jennifer?" Aydan followed Gabriela's gaze and looked at me.
Gabriela playfully stuck out her tongue behind my back at the right moment. "Jennifer is my best friend. If you bully me, you're dead."
"Oh? Is that so?" Aydan raised an eyebrow at me. "Gabriela said she would only agree to date me if you approved. So, what do you say?"
"Jennifer, put him in his place." Gabriela tugged at my sleeve, pretending to scold Aydan, but the look of satisfaction on her face was unmistakable.
I couldn't help but laugh at myself. This was clearly Gabriela's way of putting on a show for Aydan, wasn't it? She was making it so obvious. How foolish was I in my past life not to hear the excitement and pride in her voice? How could I have thought she was being forced?
In the end, I had stupidly believed Aydan was constantly bothering her and had given him a piece of my mind to drive him away.
Afterward, Gabriela had turned around and blamed everything on me, using me to boost her image in Aydan's eyes. From then on, Aydan started making my life difficult at every turn...
