Chapter 2 The World of Norkiya

After regaining my consciousness, I found myself in a grassy terrain and when I looked up, I was flabbergasted - I saw three moons: red, blue, and grey.

Where Am I? besides, what had happened?

My name is Craig Luis. 21 years old, a manga and anime lover.

While trying to buy popsicles, I got stabbed and now, I am in an unknown world.

That problem aside, I can move as good as new.. And I think I got reincarnated into an unknown world.

While I was following the pathway, there are plenty of luminous lights flowing everywhere. And when I was about to reached the end of the pathway, I was mesmerized by the beauty of the lake that's ahead of me. It wasn't a normal lake. It was a shiny, big, silver lake.

I immediately rushed towards the lake as I was fascinated by it.

After reaching the silver lake, I bowed and looked into the water and my image was reflected by it: black haired with deep set eyes and pointy nose.

My face ain't that bad, huh?..

That topic aside, this silver lake is kinda cool! I didn't even read this on any website or even in manga! Lucky!

I looked up, and asked myself.. "Where Am I? Is this sort of magical world?"

Suddenly there was a loud voice behind me saying, "Oi, lowly human"

I immediately turned around and I saw Gleaming like a black steal, flexible and durable like the scales of a fish.. A dragon.

"Geeeeh! A-a-a Dragoonn?!!!" - shocked trance

"Hmmm, A lowly human reached the silver lake? Interesting.." - the dragon said

Huuuh?! A ta-ta-talking dragon?!! - I vociferously replied

"Calm down, Human" He replied.

My heart leaped into my throat as I heard him spoke to me "H-he spoke, He freaking spoke!" I muttered .

"So, tell me, what are you doing in here?" -The dragon asked

While staring at the dragon I was not unable to speak as I was flabbergasted and my brain cannot seem to comprehend the situation..

The yellow eyes of the dragon turns into red as he stood up. He was in defensive mode as he was like preparing for a battle "Or are you perhaps one of those individuals who's hunting me down?!" - He fiercely questioned while gritting his teeth with anger

I suddenly felt an adrenaline rush "No! You're wrong! I am not one of them. besides, I have no idea that you're here to begin with! - I responded with uneasiness and due to the fact that I had the feeling that If I hadn't answered his question right away, it will be my last day in this world.

After hearing my response, he slowly sat and said, "mhmm.. I see. My bad, Human!" the dragon sarcastically said

No, no! You don't have to say sorry, I just don't have an idea that this was your territory.. I am truly sorry. - I replied while bowing my head

"Very well.." - the dragon replied while staring at the moons

"Moons are beautiful, aren't they?" - the dragon adds

My heart slowly turns into its normal pace "Ye-Yes, Mr. Dragon"

He grinned. "So, tell me, why are you, Human?"

After hearing his question, I had the feeling that it's not easy for any being to reach this place so I answered him honestly. "Actually, I think I had been reincarnated. I was stabbed to death in my original world and found myself in this world. This might be unbelievable to hear but I think I got here through reincarnation.."

After hearing me, the dragon suddenly extended his face and sniff my whole body. "mhm.. it seems like you really are not originally came from this world"

"What are you?" - the dragon asks while having a doubtful face.

"I'm a Human?" - I confusedly answered

The dragon chuckled. "Ha-ha! You're funny, Human!"

After seeing him chuckling, his terrifying existence made me think that it was just a facade. Furthermore, he's not showing any hostility towards me so I can say that he was just protecting himself for any possible harm.

"Where are we Mr. Dragon?" - I sincerely asked

The dragon glared at the moons and explains everything. "This is the world of Norkiya. And we are in silver lake - the resting place of dying monsters. You are lucky that I was the one who found you, Human.. or else.."

"Or else?" - I asked while having a confused face

he seriously glared at me and answered

"Or else you'll get eaten by other monsters" .

I shrugged. "Well, it's seems like the universe gave me another life to live".

"So why are you here, Mr. Dragon?" - I added

The dragon suddenly moved and went into sleeping position as he speak "Oi, stop calling me that. I have a name. I am Fraener, one of the strongest dragon here in Norkiya"

I was dumbfounded.

"You know what, in my world you guys aren't existing. I mean, dragons were just a mythical creatures we found in books.. And only humans are able to speak so I am not used to this.. This is kind of mind-boggling. And besides, are we in magical world by any chance? And what is Norkiya?" I asked, before I shook my head as I cannot seem to comprehend what's going on.

"The name of this world is Norkiya and this place is called silver lake" The dragon replied

"What is Silver lake? What is this luminous light? A magic?" I asked while pointing at the bright light flowing and fying everywhere

After hearing my endless questions, he covered his ears with his claws and his face turned expressionless "Wait! Halt your questions! Ask one question at a time!"

I lowered my head "My bad, Mr.Fraener!"

"You're right. We are in a magical world; These luminous lights are called Magicores and is the foundation of life here in Norkiya. Let me formally introduce our world. Welcome to Norkiya, The world of Monsters. And as what you have mentioned earlier, it is unusual for our kind to speak, right? but here in Norkiya, it's normal since every being that residing here has the capacity to speak because of the existence of "Magicore Sense" the dragon explained while having a proud face

Magicore Sense: After activating, it will give you senses: hearing, taste, smell, touch and sight

"Humans like you once existed in this world however, due to the abundance of magicores, humans had ceased to exist first" - the dragon adds

"If the magicores are the foundation of life in Norkiya, why'd human had ceased to exist?" - I perplexingly asked

"Good question! You can see these lights surrounding you, right?" - the dragon asked

"Ye-yes.." I replied doubtfully

"That is magicores. And every individual has growth limiter. Therefore, if an individual consumes or use a magicores that are beyond to their capacity, they will explode to death since their body can no longer control the magicores inside them".

"Huuuh?! It's a bit of illogical. Isn't it supposed to be the more magicores, the strongest the being gets? But why was it making you guys explode?" - I replied

"That is what this world works.. And as what I have told you, every being in Norkiya has growth limiter. Even me. Therefore, if anyone had an extreme amount of magicores inside them, they will explode as their body can't contain the power inside them"

Having imagined the worst case scenario, the confusion turns into panic

"Is there any way to remove the growth limiter?! Is it possible for us to remove the growth limiter?!"

The dragon glared at me and laughed "Kuahahaha! You're funny, Human! What an idea! However! there is no such thing as removing your growth limiter".

"So why did human had ceased to exist then?" - I asked

"Because humans like you are weak. Human race was the weakest race here in Norkiya. Your limiter is nothing compared to us and humans weren't able to control their magicores therefore, your lifespan is short; I have lived this life for about 5 thousand years ago and yet this is my first time seeing a human". The dragon answered.

I was flabbergasted. "So, if you're saying that this is your first time seeing a human race, does it mean that I'm the only human here in Norkiya right now?!"

"You're right" - the dragon replied.

"But my father once told me that he had a human friend. Not an ordinary human, but an unstoppable human. They travelled every continent in Norkiya. He was indubitably strong compared to all humans and my father wasn't even able to best him on one on one. My father told me that he's a holder of a Dragon Soul" - the dragons adds.

"Dragon soul? what is that?" - I curiously asked.

"Yes. Dragon soul is basically our soul. We can pass our soul onto someone whom we want to pass it with; The Dragon soul will give the receiver a power boost." The dragon replied.

"So, are you saying that once someone receives your Dragon soul, it will give them a power boost?" I asked with excitement and curiosity

"Not just a boost, Human, after receiving our Dragon soul, it will drastically change someone's growth limiter and obtain new skills". the dragon clarifies.

"So, where did that human go? Is he same as me?" I asked

"He died" the dragon replied.

"Of what?" I asked.

"because of old age"

"Well, everyone has its own turns; I'm about to take my turn" the dragon adds

"Huh? What are you saying Mr.Fraener?" I worriedly asked.

"I am nearing my death. I came all the way here to rest. I can no longer contain the magicores inside me. It is just a matter of time until I die. " the dragon replied.

"So that's why you called this a place for a dying monsters?" I asked.

"Since this is the resting place of dying monsters, yes". the dragon replied.

I was perplexed after hearing him saying that he's nearing his death. I couldn't believe that this dragon is about to die. "What do you mean, Mr.Fraener?!" I worriedly asked

He remains in his position and subtly glance at me "I meant what I meant"

I walked towards him and sat on the rock in front of him "What happened to you, Mr.Fraener?, and where did you came from?"

He stares at me and I can see that he can no longer fly or even fight. He got a stale teeth and shriveled scales "I travel from Asnor to here to rest"

"Asnor?" - I asked

"Yeah. Norkiya consist of 5 continents. Asnor, where adventures are located. Marsh Land, where Mythical Beasts are residing. Netherlands, The land of demons. Westeros, where Elves, Dwarfs and Giants co-existing and last but the most terrifying continent there is, Elvquake, the land of Dragons." the dragon replied

"Huh? There's no continent for humans?" - I asked

"Since humanity had ceased to exist, Asnor became the center of all continents" - the dragon explained

"So, you mean.."

"Yeah, Asnor was once the land of Hum--"

But before the dragon finishes his statement, he suddenly stand up and looked up and shout in a serious manner "Come over here, quick!"

I immediately run towards him as I can sense that there is a kind of an unknown pressure coming towards us. And it is giving me goosebumps.

"This is bad" - the dragon muttered

After reaching the dragon, I hid under him and asked him " What is this pressure, Mr. Fraener?!" I looked into his face and he gritted his teeth angrily. "This is the pressure of a high ranking demon. Not just a high ranking demon, but one of the oldest demon there is" the dragon worriedly reply "He might have felt your aura.. This is bad. He is strong. Just stay there and don't answer him at any cost" - the dragon adds

The aura continuously gets thicker as the distance getting closer to our location.

This is my fault.. Mr.Fraener got involved because of me. Tsk!

"He's here" - the dragon said

The demon has arrived and after crashing into the ground, he made a big crater. As the smokes and debris getting thinner, the demon slowly showed it's appearance - Black haired with gold-red eyes and has a sharp horns with fangs and black wings.

So this is the strength of a demon?! he made a big crater on the surface just by landing on it.

"Greetings!" - The demon said

"What is your business here, Demon?" - the dragon asked

"I just sense a strange aura and it reminds me of something.. Im intrigued." - the demon replied

After hearing the demon's statement, Mr. Fraener's eyes turns to red and aggressively said "Leave this place at once!"

The demon suddenly looked into my direction and smuggled "Aw.. You are rather heartless, don't you agree, Human?"
