Chapter 3 Who is he

The nurse ran in with the first aid box and was hurrying towards me when he stopped her.

"Good job, I will do it myself" the bastard said taking the box from the shaking nurse and I scoffed.

"What the meaning of this?, Are you even a professional?" I yelled at the nurse in anger and she was going to say something but the bastard didn't let her.

"You can leave" he said calmly and she turned around wanting to leave when I stopped her.

"Don't you move an inch from where you are or consider yourself fired" I said angrily feeling the authority that had become a part of my voice over the years come again.

"I don't want to repeat myself" the bastard yelled and the nurse who looked like she had been contemplating on what to do, flinched as she turned around and ran out.

"Really" I said to no one in particular, probably trying to smoothen my bruised ego. This was the first time someone ever disobeyed me, let alone walking out on me and although I could see reasons with her because even me had felt scared when he raised his voice but I didn't care, I felt like she only disobeyed me because my father was arrested or maybe because I just wanted to dwell on my problems.

"Let's get your wound clean except you want to get an infection" the bastard said bringing me back to consciousness.

I stared at him and scoffed as he signaled me to sit close to him on the bed.

"There's definitely something wrong with your brain, you get me injured. Now you want to get the wound clean?, Well thanks but am not interested" I said and made to walk past him to the door when he drew me back by the bleeding hand making me fall into the bed besides him.

"Ahhhhhh, let go of me. It hurts ok" I cried and surprisedly he let go of the hand.

"So you have an heart" I said rolling my eyes and he laughed evilly getting my attention.

I lifted my head and looked at him suddenly noticing his deep blue eyes that held some sort of emotions that I couldn't explain.

"I don't" he said and I looked away having a sort of feeling that made my heart raise fast.

"I might have a deal for you, come to me if you are interested in getting everything back" he said dropping the first aid box and standing up.

"Interested in getting everything back?" I asked confused.

"My dad only got arrested, I didn't lose anything" I mummered and he chuckled.

"You would understand soon Cindy but before you come to me, you should know that for every good thing there's a price" he replied and I laughed.

"A price?" I was going to ask when he closed the door in my face.

"Fuck you" I yelled feeling angry and humiliated.

I turned around on the bed and kicked the first aid box to the ground.

"Who the hell was he and how did he know my name?" I yelled out and fell back to the bed.

"Ok maybe he supposed to know my name tho because who doesn't know Mr Benson's daughter but who the hell is he?" I yelled again and hit my hand against the bed in anger.

"Ouch" I groaned as the pain reminded me I had an injury.

I laid back on the bed when suddenly an idea hit me. I took out my phone and Googled the information.

I dropped my phone accidentally in shock as someone opened the door and walked into my hospital room.

It was a doctor.

"Good afternoon Cindy, how are you feeling?" She asked standing near my bed.

"Am fine if you care" I said rudely and she laughed.

"Am sorry for the inconveniences earlier but Mr Walker is very important, I hope you understand" she said and I rolled my eyes mummering a whatever.

"Can I get discharged today?" I asked and she nodded.

"Of course, you seem fine to me. All you just need is to pay the bills and you can go" she said and I nodded getting up from the bed.

"Your account details, so I can make a transfer" I said and she nodded giving me a paper copy carrying the details of the account and my Bill.

I typed them in and tried doing the transfer but it was showing insufficient funds. I tried it again and screamed horrified when I saw the same thing.

"What, insufficient funds?, That's impossible" I screamed and the doctor sighed.

"You are Mr Benson's daughter right?" She asked and I nodded, I mean my dad might have been involved in something bad but that didn't mean I have to deny him.

"I think everything you guys had, has been seized. So it's normal you have no money" she said and my eyes widened as Bryan's words came sounding in my head again.

"come to me if you are interested in getting everything back"

"I don't know what you are going to do dear but you have to pay the bills" the doctor spoke and I nodded coming down from the bed.

"Can I perhaps try my ATM card at the front desk of the hospital?" I asked and she nodded as I came down and followed her.

We got there and I tried it but it was same thing, insufficient funds.

"What now?" The doctor asked and I sighed mummering a sorry for the first time in my whole life.

"I promise I would do anything to pay the bills" I promised, I couldn't beg anyone for the money. I might have lost everything but I had my pride.

"Hmm, you could come and clean the hospital after school" the doctor said, I was about to refuse but Just then I looked up and saw Maddy and Daisy walking into the hospital.

"OMG" I exclaimed out loud.

"What?" The doctor asked and I turned back to her hurriedly. They were at the entrance so there was no way I could go out.

"I would do it ok, after school everyday. Just tell them am asleep" I said rushing my words.

"Tell who?" The doctor asked confused as she looked around.

"Them, my friends, tell them am asleep. Please ok?" I replied turning around as I ran back to my hospital room.

"Ok" I heard the doctor yell after me.

I got into the hospital bed and drew the sheets to cover my body halfway and my injured hand.

"Are they still coming?" I was thinking when I heard the door open. I tried to relax my eyelids as I heard the doctor's voice.

"This is her room but she's asleep" I heard the doctor say before hearing Maddy's voice.

"No problem, we just sit near her. We are her friends" Maddy spoke and I cursed in my head knowing the doctor allowed them when I heard the door close.

"She's so miserable" I heard Daisy's voice say and I felt the tears fill my head when I heard Maddy giggle.

"And it's funny that I don't pity her" Maddy said and the both of them started.

"I always hated her anyways, always behaving like she hold the world, she's not even pretty" Daisy scoffed.

"You are just jealous because she gets more attention from boys but I hate her too. I heard Bryan Walker came to visit her" Maddy said and Daisy stamped her foot on the ground.

"More reason why I hate her, what would Bryan see in someone like her" Maddy continued and Daisy laughed.

"Don't worry you can just ask your father about it. Didn't you say he takes your dad as his father because he was his father only true friend" Daisy said laughing and it was like I suddenly couldn't hold the tears in but I was trying my best. It felt like my soul was broken.

"Let's go Maddy" I heard Daisy say as the door opened, I thought they were leaving but just then I felt someone's hand touch my hair.

"I really hate you Cindy, I wish you can just die" it was Maddy's voice and it broke me.

"Maddy" I heard Daisy's voice again and heard Maddy yell coming before the door close.

I opened my eyes as the tears flowed freely, I knew they probably might not accept me as their friend but the fact that they hated me all this while was what hurt.

True definition of ceaser didn't cry when the sword passed through him, he cried when he saw the person that stabbed him.

Maddy has been my best friend for like forever and her doing this to me hurt, it hurt so much. Added to the fact that my dad was arrested.

I came down from the cab and pretended like I was checking my pocket for Money.

"Am sorry, I think I lost my money" I lied knowing fully well that I didn't have any money on me. There was no way I could get home on foot or maybe I didn't just try it out, but I knew I couldn't do it.

"You what?" The cab driver yelled and I took off my watch handing it over to him.

"This is pure gold, you can take it in place of the money" I said and the man cursed under his breath as he snatched the watch from me and drove off.

I turned around and walked towards the gate wondering why it was silent when I suddenly noticed that the house was sealed and locked.

"No way, no way" I screamed remembering what the nurse and Bryan had said.

" I think everything you guys had, has been seized. So it's normal you have no money"

"You would understand soon Cindy" Bryan's words rang in my brain and I fell to the ground in tears as I raised my head to the sky.

"Why me God?, Why Me?" I yelled breaking down.

"First my dad gets arrested, then my friends hate me, then I lose all my money, now I don't have an house?" I yelled and just as if the sky too hated me, it started to rain heavily.

I bent my head resting them on my knees in tears as the rain poured on me. I raised my head trying to wipe my face, I didn't know which I was trying to wipe, whether it was the rain or the tears but whichever it was, it didn't change anything.

Just then a car drove close to me and I lifted my head to see Xander come down with an umbrella.

"Come here" Xander said holding out his hand to me and I took it standing up on my feet.

He helped me into the car and closed the door.

"I went to hospital to look for you and I was told you had left, I also paid the bills" Xander said and I turned to look at me. This was someone that I was actually just playing and he cared even after I have nothing.

"Maybe nerds are just loyal people" the rude part of me whispered in my head and sighed ignoring it as I looked out the window.

"Thank you" I said swallowing my pride as I stared at the window.

"Do you mind if I take you to my place?" He asked and shook my head refusing.

"Don't worry about it, I would be glad if you let me sleep in your car. I mean you have done enough already" I said and I couldn't believe I was saying that. Like me Cindy Benson was being nice.

"Come on Cindy, don't mention am your boyfriend" Xander said and I sighed not knowing what to say.

Just then I felt him lean into my and tried kissing me on my neck but I pushed him away.

"What the hell are you doing?" I yelled and he looked away.

"Oh right I get it, I guess I have been too nice today so you want to take advantage of me. Well news flash I no longer need your help" I yelled and opened the door entering the rain as I slammed the car door hard.

"Hey Cindy, where are you going?" Xander asked yelling from the car.

"To the devil" I replied walking away angrily, whatever that meant I was doing it. I was going to Bryan for his offer.
