Chapter 6 Julian Lewis Is My Husband

After leaving the private room, Baylee finally felt the weight on her chest lift, like a bird freed from its cage. Her mood lightened as she inhaled the fresh air.

She strolled across the grounds of the equestrian club, her mind already weaving plans for the upcoming charity gala. Suddenly, an unfamiliar voice pierced the tranquility from behind.

"Hey, Sia."

Turning instinctively, Baylee faced a middle-aged man with a greasy smile, his half-bald head gleaming under the sun, and his belly pronounced.

Her face fell as she recognized him as Bill Patterson, the CEO of Golden Oak Investments.

This man was the one who had drugged her last time!

Baylee had reported the incident to the police, but they had told her an investigation was necessary, and she had heard nothing since.

And now, here Bill was, looking completely unscathed!

Bill had been thinking about Baylee ever since she had escaped his clutches. Now that fate had thrown them together again, he was even more determined not to let her slip away.

"What brings you here? Horse racing doesn't really suit a delicate beauty like you." Bill smiled, inching closer as if their last unpleasant encounter had never happened. "But since we've met, how about we discuss some business? I'm looking for a planner for a stripping performance. You wouldn't turn me down, would you?"

Baylee's stomach churned with disgust. Stiffly, she replied, "I'm sorry, Mr. Patterson, but my schedule is fully booked. I don't have time for any new projects."

With that, she turned to leave.

But then, her wrist was caught in a vice-like grip.

"The price is negotiable. Don't rush to say no," Bill insisted, his eyes roving hungrily over her face and body. He licked his lips. "Besides, Sia, with your looks, you could be the dancer of the show if you don't want to be a planner. Imagine earning ten times more. And if you're worried about the moves, I'll guide you myself. You will surely captivate the male audience."

As he spoke, Bill's fingers stroked her hand, sending shivers of revulsion down her spine.

Baylee pulled her hand back, masking her disgust. She repeated, "Mr. Patterson, I really don't have the time. And we're in a public place. Please, keep your manners in check!"

Bill didn't let her resistance get to him. He seemed even more thrilled. "Come on, don't play hard to get. I can up the budget. If you impress me, a few million for your services shouldn't be a problem. Think it over, will you?"

Before Baylee could respond, he grabbed her again, his eyes shining with unchecked desire.

Baylee realized normal tactics wouldn't work. She decided to change her strategies. "Mr. Patterson, I'm married. Do you know who my husband is?"

"You are married?" Bill's laugh was dismissive, his tone dripping with sarcasm. "That's even better. I have a thing for married women..."

"My husband is Julian Lewis!" Baylee's voice was cold as ice. "And mind you, he's here today. Are you sure you want to provoke him?"

Bill hesitated, then burst into laughter. "Are you trying to be funny right now? Julian Lewis, your husband?! Come on, at least make your lies believable."

Seeing he wasn't convinced, Baylee felt a wave of desperation but kept her cool.

She smiled. "If you don't believe me, I can call him over right now."

Bill's grip slackened slightly, suspicion flickering across his face.

Taking advantage of his momentary hesitation, Baylee quickly turned and sprinted away.

Realizing he'd been tricked, Bill chased after her, pinning her against a wall. He spat, "You little witch, how dare you fool me!"

Baylee struggled, but it was futile.

Just as she felt overwhelmed, she saw Julian approaching in the distance.

As she debated whether to call out to him, she felt a repulsive gust of hot breath on her neck.

It was Bill's breath.

Bill had also spotted Julian and whispered menacingly in her ear, "Perfect timing. Your husband's here. Go on, call him if you have the balls!"
