Chapter 1 Prolusion

*****************

I detested my father and wished he would die because he had a mind of a beast and it terrified me to see my mother get hurt. As a result of my father's continued punching, my mother's body is weakening, and he views me as trash and useless.

I couldn't put up with my father's despicable behavior.

I ran away from home to work as a housekeeper for a billionaire's son. He was so rude and full of himself.

I eventually ended up falling in love with him.

When I returned home, I was to able to convince my mom she decided to eloped with me to the place where I had been. I'm happy to hear that she is now madly in love, but with whom?

Jasmine Bella is a courageous person who has a talent for painting and perseveres in pursuing her goals.

Her top priority is making sure that her mother is happy, and she will stop at nothing to ensure that she smiles the biggest smile possible.

Chapter 1

You are a mistake

The sun shone so barely; it’s midsummer, and I was still on my bed, turning and tossing myself.

"Jasmine is a mistake," my father retorted angrily. His face was so hardened that he felt like killing me. I hated my father. He is heinous. He takes pleasure in punching my mother. "Jasmine is not my child." He keeps reminding her. In fact, I agreed with him. I can’t be his daughter with such a ruthless and dishonest man. Sometimes I can’t still believe that a lovely, beautiful woman like my mother ended up with him. I can remember her telling me that her parents betrothed her to him. My father’s word keeps coming up in my memory; it's torn my heart into pieces in my mind—a father who has so much hatred for his daughter.

It's always been my dream to attend Kisco High School, but when I told my father about it, he blurted out, "You are useless, and I won't squander all of my money on you." I dreaded him so much that I sat staring up at the ceiling, wondering what I could possibly do to show him that I wasn't useless.

“Hey Jasmine!" my mother yelled as she shoved the door to my room open.

Her voice brought my attention back to my surroundings. I didn’t know when she entered inside; "Mom, he hates me," I said, dripping the tears that were shimmying in my eyes; "Don’t worry, it will be okay," she held me so tightly.

My mother is such a wonderful woman; she is my role model, and I adore her.

"It was my dream mom, but he shattered it," I said as I clung to my painting, grafting in a sheet.

"I have gotten a job; I will make sure you get that dream of yours," she said as she stroked my cheek.

She has lost so much weight in the last four months; she has lost her job that pays her well, and because of that, I couldn't go further in school. Daddy always punches her—it's terrified me to see him do that to her. I wish I had made money; I will elope with her and make her happy; she deserves to be happy.

I smiled when I heard she got a job; now I'm applying for a scholarship at Kisco. "I love you, mommy," I said.

I hugged her, and she winced in pain when my hand accidentally touched her stomach.

"Mom, are you okay?"

It struck me hard to see her in pain. I opened her stomach to see what was choking her. My eyes were shut to what I saw. She had a lot of scars around her stomach. It's irritating. I felt fear coiling in her eyes. My dad is indeed a monster.

"I'm sure he did this to you." I wasn't expecting her to say anything to me because she keeps covering his deed.

She struggles to accept the fact that she is married to a beast.

"Your father is the nicest man; don't think of such," she keeps telling me.

My mother rarely says anything to me about her and my father.

In fact, I still can't believe her parents betrothed her to him. Something must be behind this dead marriage, and seeing it as a dead marriage, I can't see love either. My mom keeps dying in silence. She thought I didn't know what Dad was doing to her.

”No, mom, he is a wicked man. Please stop defending him."

She kept my mouth shut and wouldn't let me say anything about how I see my father. "Dearly, he is your father; you know that," she said.

I don't want her to ever say that to me, she is aware of his hatred for me and the fact that he never views me as his daughter, He keeps telling me constantly,

"No, Mum, he is not my dad."

I could argue that nature deceived me in creating me as his daughter, but I'm not sure I am. A DNA test will establish my ancestry.

"I hope you are not harboring grudges against your father; I have found a way for you to attend Kisco High School."

I have already hated my father; he doesn't see me as his daughter; he said I'm useless; I'm a mistake.

I can't add anything up, and he has ruined my life and that of my mother. I hate him so much right now that I don't know what to say to her. She should understand that I'm not like her, who can bear his torment. He is annoying, and he resembles a beast.

"Sweetie," she touched me, sensing that I was lost in thought.

"I hope you're not thinking about it."

She had noticed that I always got lost.

My mind is fixated on my father, which is why I can't concentrate any longer.

"No, mom, it frightens me to see your eyes glistening with tears." "I can't hold it; I'm torn by emotions." I love her so much. I would do anything to make her happy. I wish I had the power to change things. I would turn into a beast and kill my father, then elope with my mom to a place she could find comfort.

She felt bad at the moment; she had no idea of what to do—she was just a poor woman who danced to the tune of her husband.
