Chapter 5 MASON'S POV

I helped her into the car and turned the other way to take us to my house. I kept glancing at her while I was driving to make sure she wasn't dead or worse she wasn't having another panic attack, I had to stay alert.

I didn't know what to think again, I was so confused but I had to keep calm and focus on her getting better. I was so glad when she finally woke up after two days of being unconscious and only to visit her and see her almost committing suicide, she was literally at the end of the window will almost jumping down, I have never been so scared to my bones like that, I was both scared and worried at the same time and I think I will be like that for a while till I am sure this girl is perfectly fine.

Reaching the gate to my house, I pressed the button and gate opened allowing me to drive into the compound, I immediately parked my car and turned around to help the girl out but when I got there, she was fast asleep, she must be really tired after not being able to sleep again after that horrible nightmare she had, whatever the content might be, I have never seen someone so scared to start begging not to be after waking up like that, I didn't want to think about it so I pushed it to the back of my mind till anytime she is ready to tell me what the hell is going on.

My head is already in a mess and what got me thinking the most was why she was at the front of my gate when the rain was falling heavily, the picture frame I found when I picked her from the ground and was about to rush her to the hospital was given to Melody my maid to get it repaired, the picture was of an old woman and I couldn't ask her all the questions bugging me, I had to wait for her to recover.

She needed all the time to recover and come back to health so that I could return her to her family.

I was hoping to ask her of her family but she gave a very weird reaction when I mentioned them earlier so I decided to lay the matter to rest for now and bring it up when she is much better.

I went to my room to freshen up and asked Melody to prepare lunch for us, I hadn't told her we were coming so she couldn't cook anything as I finished taking a much needed shower and was about to put on some clothes, I heard a very loud scream coming from the girl's room, I was immediately alarmed and rushed out to head straight to her room, I know she was having another nightmare, what must have happened that she is getting those nightmares, her reactions show that the dreams are really scary and I couldn't start bombarding her with questions because she wasn't strong enough for it.

I was so worried that I had to carry my towel wrapped self all the way to her room, I didn't have the patience to wear anything and I hoped she wouldn't notice. On entering her room, she was thrashing the mattress like someone was forcing her to do something on the other side, I went to her bedside and started whispering for her to come back to me. What got me thinking was what Walter had said that she had marks of almost being sexually assaulted on her hands, back and legs but it looked like the person didn't do what he intended and I think she is traumatized by that.

I continued whispering into her ears, at some point I started telling her to come back to me that I was here for her, I didn't know where that came from but at this point I was desperate and really worried about her.

"Open your eyes, they are not really, just look at me I am here please." I was literally begging her right now.

She cracked her eyes opened and looked at her surrounding before her eyes met mine.

She quickly scurried to the head of the bed away from me like I was some disease. I knew she was traumatized so I understood that she could not trust anyone especially a man.

"Calm down, I won't hurt you I promise. You can stay there if it makes you feel better and I will stay right here till you are perfectly fine." I said soothingly.

I sat there for a good thirty minutes staring at the ground until I felt something warm on my hand then I turned and she immediately withdrew her hand from mine like touching me burnt her and what came to my mind was - 'was her experience that bad?'- The reaction she just showed was the answer and I could tell that she really had a bad experience.

"Are you okay now? I will not hurt you and I know it is not possible for you to believe me right now but you could try. No matter what you have been through, I know you are strong enough to pick up the remaining parts left and piece them back together and start all over again. I don't know if what I have just said is right because I do not have any idea what you have been through but I know that you can overcome all of those trauma and start a new and fulfilled life." I said all in one breath.

"Wow I never knew I was a such a motivational speaker, I never knew I had it in me, it sounds weird coming from me. My friends will throw a fit if they were here." I said after giving what I had said a thought. Just then I heard someone laugh and I turned to see the girl laughing and she was doing so so beautifully and as I kept looking at her, she stopped laughing and coughed. I didn't even know what to think of anymore, I looked away from her to make less embarrassed but I was happy that she smiled.

"You should smile more often, it soothes you". I told her and that made a small smile spread on her lips.

"Since you have woken up, I will have Mel send your lunch upstairs or do you want to come to the dinning to eat?" I asked her hoping to make her feel relaxed even just a little.

She looked at me with surprise written all over her face and I wondered why she felt that way. She answered in her small and light voice.

"I will come downstairs to the dinning, I just need to use the restroom."

"While in there, you can just freshen up, I will have Mel lay out some clothes for you to wear." I said grateful that I had told Mel to buy some clothes for her since she will be staying with me for a while.

"Okay, thank you very much, I never got the chance to thank you properly but I really appreciate what you have done for me." She said almost inaudibly but I heard her.

"You are welcome but I caused the accident, I shouldn't have been driving when we were already warned not to go out in the stormy rain but I had something urgent to handle so I had to go and this happened. How are you feeling now? Hope you do not feel weak or dizzy? If so, you can stay here and Mel will bring your food."

She shook her head telling me she stood by her decision of eating at the dinning and I didn't object because I will eat with her there and watch her closely in case there was any emergency.
