Chapter 5 : million dollars

"Hello father" Nikolas greeted, his head bowed as his father stared at him angrily, his nose flaring and claws ready to pull his heart out.

He was trying his best to remain in his human form.

"Where the hell have you been! Do you know how worried everyone has been since Amelia reported you missing!" King Cyrus thundered.

"I've been outside Colchis, Earth precisely, there was no need for anyone to be worried" He replied with a casual shrug.

"You went to Earth? Are you insane! How dare you leave Colchis?"

"There was never a rule that forbids anyone from leaving Colchis father, I went there for a special assignment and I intend on going back" Nikolas replied rudely and a slap landed on his face.

"How dare you speak to me that way! Have you lost it? I do not want you to leave Colchis ever again!" King Cyrus commanded and Queen Irene rushed inside, pacing around.

"Your highness! I heard Nikolas is back, what about Jace? I've searched for him but I can't find him" She demanded impatiently, without giving Nikolas any glance.

"He's on Earth, doing whatever he likes," Nikolas replied.

"What! His highness sent him to get you, how could you leave him there alone! What if something happens to my baby?!" She demanded, breaking into tears and He rolled his eyes.

"He's one of our finest warriors, stop making him look like an infant, he will return when he wishes" Nikolas replied nonchalantly.

"Are you crazy! Your father ordered him not to return until he found you. He's a warrior here but the humans are very sly and dangerous, your highness... I'll like you to send Nikolas back to get Jace and he must bring back my son at all cost" Irene pleaded and after much deliberation the king agreed.

"What! I just came back! You don't expect me to go in search of mommy's little baby..." Nikolas mocked.

"Watch your tone or I would order the guards to flog you..."

"It's not like I haven't been flogged before, I've missed your whip honestly" He muttered.

"Go get Jace, do not return until you find him, that's final" Cyrus ordered and grudgingly, Nikolas left the palace.

Brielle

She took out her little savings, staring at the last property that belonged to her, it was just enough to get her a cup of cappuccino.

"One cup of cappuccino" She muttered, parting ways with her priceless money.

"Make it two, the bills on me" She heard a figure standing behind, her insides flipped and she turned back, expecting to see her clone.

Her smile changed when the face that smiled at her was that of her second clone, the gentle one... She was a little dejected.

"Hello, nice to see you again" He offered his hands, sitting beside her and she took them immediately, smiling.

"I'm Jace and you?"

"Brielle..." She trailed, taking a sip of her cappuccino as she used the opportunity to check him out..

His silver eyes were gleaming, his dark red hair was exceptional, and he looked cute and ready to eat.

He had a gentle aura filled with elegance around him, his gentleness made him look more manly and matured compared to his twin who looked like a typical rogue.

His nose crooked a bit but it made him look gorgeous.

He was putting on a leather jacket and pants, he had a cape wrapped around him.

Weird, he and his twin had weird fashion sense...

"Would you just stare at me? I know you're checking me out" He said and she bowed her head, blushing very hard, he smiled.

He used a finger to raise her head, his slender fingers making contact with her skin and she shuddered.

He traced her cheek bones and she shivered, sighing deeply.

"Your features are amazing" He complimented and her face turned crimson, he was awfully nice and comforting.

"Thank you..." She mouthed shyly and he held her hand, making her jerk forward with shock.

She couldn't tell why but her blood was racing, his touch felt different from grumpy clone, her skin crawled whenever he gazed at her softly.

"So tell me about yourself" He replied, drawing his hand back, a sly smile on his face... Damn! He had just teased her.

"I think your fashion sense is weird, are you from the 1980's?"

They both burst into laughter... He began telling her stories about his childhood days, oddly, he omitted his twin or probably didn't grow up with him...

"Wow, just wow.... Mother and father are worried sick about you but you're here having fun with this clumsy human" A stern voice taunted and she broke into a large smile, turning to face her grumpy clone.

"You're back? Wow!" She muttered joy filled and he hissed, eyeing her angrily and she coiled back with fear, why was he always this way.

She could see anger written all over his body but there was something else in his eyes, more of hatred, a touch of pain and disappointment.

His heated gaze was directed at her and she felt guilty to the core.

"Why are you here?" Jace inquired.

"Oh really? That's what you're gonna ask? Your job was to bring me back home but it seems like you'll be bringing something else" Grumpy clone taunted and she wondered why he was furious.

"Did you go home?"

"Yeah, I did and I got an earful of cries from mom about her baby being exposed to the dangerous and sly humans" He retorted with a sneer, gazing at her.

They were confusing her with their words, why were they using the word humans?

Weird fashion, weird words... her clones were definitely going to make her insane.

"Don't talk about your mother that way!" Jace ordered, his hands gripping the cappuccino paper cup tightly and the contents spilled all over his hand.

She gasped, he wasn't even affected by the hot liquid.

"It's better if you go comfort her before she kills her maids out of fury" Grumpy replied and after a minute of angry staring and silence, Jace left, giving her an apologetic look.

"I was only gone for a day and you're running into his arms, did you get into trouble? Or you just want him?" His husky voice was filled with indignation.

"Fuck you! You just drove my date away... what kind of twin are you?" She demanded angrily.

"He didn't pay for the cappuccinos, you would have to pay" The waiter interrupted, handing a bill to her and her eyes widened.

This is $8.45, little money but she just didn't have it. She had just half of it.

She cleaned my eyes and turned to mr grumpy.

"You don't have the money? Why buy what you can't afford?" He scolded, bringing out money from his pocket, he threw a $10 bill and she smiled.

Wow, he knows how to spend money now.

"You know, if two people meet more than twice, then fate definitely has something for them... I can tell you what fate has for us..."

"Are you a shaman? What do you know about fate? You look and act dumb, what would you know?" He retorted coldly.

Why was he always opposing her? if only she knew his weakness.

"I'm a soothsayer, I have a crystal ball at home which I use to see the past and present..." She continued and a deep rumble erupted, his laugh was contagious and she smiled.

"You don't even own a mirror to see your ugly face, how do you intend to own a crystal ball? Do I look like a fool, you have a very low intellectual quotient that's why you're trying to rip someone like me"

"I'm not trying to rip you, I just wanna know your name... all these while I don't know your name, you didn't even ask of mine"

"Tell your crystal ball to tell you" He replied and she pouted.

"No, please tell me" She pleaded, holding his folded arms and he cocked his brow, smiling.

"You wanna know my name?... Are you very sure? You really wanna know my name?" He demanded patiently, leaning closer and she nodded.

"Yes, I wanna know your name and a few details about you, just tell me..." She pleaded, giving him her best puppy eyes.

"A million dollars..."
