Chapter 5 APOLLO

After that rainy day, Apollo had gotten Daphne's number, and also talked constantly with her.

Every day they exchanged messages, every day the blond asked her how she was doing, and every day... Apollo worried.

'I don't even know what it's like to have a broken heart, why am I sympathizing so much with her situation?' It came into the blond's mind, since everything there, was somewhat strange.

Yes, a little strange, since the being who possessed the name of the sun god had never cared about things like that.

He had friends who had been betrayed, he had witnessed countless situations of this type in his family, but... he had never cared as much as he did in the case of the bright-eyed brunette.

"Are you free today?" the message the amazonite-eyed woman had sent said.

"You know I am" the blonde just replied, "where do you want to go?"

"Do you know Lotus coffee shop? They say it's really good?"

"The one that got famous on social media?" Apollo questioned, "is it that good?"

"We won't know until we go there, don't you think?" The brunette argued.

Yeah, she was right, there would be no way to know until they both went there.

So they agreed and went there, light clothes being on Apollo's body because of the heat at that moment.

After a terrible rain, there was always a strong and bright sun.

"Heeeeeeeey, over here!" Daphne called him at one of the tables "this place is ventilated, I hope you like my choice."

The place seemed really ventilated since it was in a part that didn't get as much sun, and it was quite windy.

"Good afternoon, what can I get you?" the waiter asked.

"I'll have... This strawberry one, please" Daphne looked anxious as she asked.

"I'll have this snack here and..., this chocolate drink please" the blonde was the next to order, thus trying to stay on the safe side to not feel like he spent money unnecessarily.

"You asked for something so safe" the brunette joked "are you afraid you won't like it?"

"Of course I am" he admitted "I'm always wary of places that are too famous; like... everything here is beautiful, but... you know."

"I see you're the cautious type" the brunette's tone was provocative "I wouldn't expect that from an artist."

"Exactly because I'm an artist I value every penny of my pretty little money" he explained as he hugged the small purse that was still in his hand.

"Now that I noticed...your purse is so cute!" The amazonite's eyes sparkled "where did you buy it?"

First, wouldn't she scoff at his face for wearing a girly purse? And second... what good taste!

"In that store over there, see?" The blonde pointed towards the store "but I don't know if they still have one like that, the lady who works there told me that one of these days women fought over the fact that one of these was the last one."

"You've got to be kidding!" Daphne said like a true gossip girl "I thought this kind of thing only happened in movies."

"Art imitates life, my dear" the golden-eyed man laughed as he said, "the girl described it as a real horror movie scene."

"I don't doubt it at all, women are scary when they want to be" the brunette joked, but soon her expression turned grim.

"What happened?" The blonde's head was about to turn back.

"Don´t!" the green-eyed woman rushed to say "don't look, please... my ex is over there..."

"Oh..." he had finally understood the gravity of the situation "do you want to leave?"

"Of course not! I'm not giving up my moment because of him!" Irritation was clear in the amazonite's eyes "I came here to try things out with you! And that's what I'm going to do!"

At the same time that Apollo admired the decision, he wondered if Daphne would really enjoy the place with that idiot near her.

"Damn, he saw me..." she started to duck, practically putting herself under the table "I know it's too much, but pretend to be my boyfriend, please?"

"Okay," the blonde said promptly "I'll try hard."

"Thank you..." she spoke as she found herself forced to straighten her posture as that man was approaching.

"I see you forgot me very quickly, Daphne" Disdain was present in the man's voice, a man who had a face that Apollo would describe as devoid of beauty.

"That's none of your business, Taylor," the brunette snorted, "why don't you go back to your date and leave me alone?"

"I already told you, she was a mistake..." the idiot whined, "if you come back to me..."

"Will you cheat on her like you did the first time?" The blonde couldn't help but butt in "and how can you say that about a girl you still went out of your way to bring on a date?"

"She forced me to come, okay?" that thing said with no shame and no class "and why am I explaining this to you? This is between me and my girlfriend!

"You mean MY girlfriend" the golden-eyed man stood up to support his theater "she's already broken up with you, so just leave!"

"You forgot me in less than two weeks? Was your love for me so little?" The blue-eyed man seemed to want to play the victim "come on, answer me!"

"I'd say she didn't forget you, she just saw that she deserved something better, honey," the blond man said debauchedly "after all..., I'm better looking, smarter, more charming, interesting..."

"How arrogant! Are you going to let him talk to me like that?" that thing vociferated.

"I don't see any lies coming out of his mouth" the brunette let out "do you happen to see any, Taylor?"

Mute.

Yes, that brute thing was completely mute and left, thus sulking at his desk.

"I think we blew a date" Daphne laughed "he'll be mad all day and will barely be able to talk to her."

"Why would you put up with him anyway?" Apollo questioned, "besides being ugly he seems insufferable."

"You'll know, what we can't put up with for love, no?"
