My pep talk had me all fired up to focus on the mission. "Sir, are you awake?" I asked as he sat there peacefully with his eyes closed.
"Yes, what is it?" He asked without blinking an eyelid. The young lady proceeded to speak. "I wanted to inform you that we will have a meeting this afternoon. The Legacy president will be present. It will be an introduction meeting, so you can familiarize yourself with all the Legacy staff putting this proposal package together for you to consider."
Shane nods his head, "Yes...I see. Thank you," he looks at the young lady, who holds a slightly agitated expression on her face as she turns away from him and looks out the car window again.
I knew this wasn't going to work! He will be far more difficult to seduce than his dad would have been. I'm an expert in dealing with older men. I would generally flash a smile here and there and have them practically eating out of my hand. But instead, my mind went back to the very beginning of their encounter. When he came and stood so close to me, it almost took my breath away.
Eventually, the car stopped.
Shane looked out his window. This luxury building stood in front of his eyes, illuminating the heart of the City of Chicago.
The driver opens Shane's door after the young ladies' car door. Shane steps out, looking at the area with so many tall buildings. It reminded him of the city back in his country but was different. The young lady snaps her fingers to get his attention, "This way, please."
Shane swings his jacket over his shoulders as he follows the young lady. At the same time, the driver assists the bellman with his large amount of luggage. He looks at the black plaque carved in gold outside the hotel building. That read. "Legacy Hotel."
The only thought that came to Shane's mind was, where is the bathroom? And how quickly can he get to it? But he didn't utter it out loud. He could hardly focus on the elaborateness of this place at the moment. He was only minutes from taking off like a kid to run to the nearest bathroom in the lobby. But Shane kept his cool. After the young lady went to the front desk and returned, she would barely give him eye contact. "What is her problem now?" Shane thought.
We walked toward the elevators. And all eyes are on us. 'Admittedly, we look very nice working together.' That thought made him smile.
Shane followed the young lady, who wore this long pencil grey skirt that hugged her hips nicely: she was beautiful in form and looks. Her hair was off her face in a long glossy ponytail that softly laid on one shoulder on a silk red and sheer white blouse with a short red wool jacket tied at her tiny waistline.
He caught a whiff of her perfume several times that seemed to resonate with him. Still, Shane could only admire her from a distance because she appears not to be very friendly or interested in even holding the slightest conversation with him.
Shane's first impression of people was essential to him, and once he realized you were unfriendly, he didn't bother you. He figured after she did her job of guiding him to his room, he probably wouldn't see her anymore during this trip.
When they got off the elevator on the twenty-fifth floor, the young lady walked up to the door and opened it as she entered the room. Shane paused out in the hallway. The young lady realized he had stopped outside the door sill.
She says, "Sir, could you please come in? Time is money and money time." The young lady said as she glanced at her costly watch.
Shane continued to pause in the foyer area. He was looking at me with this slight frustration on his handsome face. Shane had to remove his shoes. He knew he was in America, and their customs were different, even though he had been born here. Shane's values and raising as a child took place in Asia.
"Could you please remove your shoes inside my hotel suite?"
It took me a second to realize what he was doing and requesting me. "Oh, You don't have to do that here in America."
"I'm sure, but in my personal space, and this is my personal space, correct?"
"Yes, for the duration of your visit here."
"So, do you mind removing your shoes?"
"Oh, you asking me to remove my shoes."
Thank goodness I have on pumps. We removed our shoes. Then I proceeded to take Mr. Baxter on a tour of his Suite.
Shane realized this wasn't some ordinary hotel room. Instead, it turns out to look like a costly apartment. Shane's eyes darted in amazement, distracting him from his need to relieve himself.
They entered a nicely decorated living room divided by a fireplace on both sides and a dining room leading to a nice kitchenette.
"The business meeting will start sharply at 11 am. It will simply consist of the layout and details of the Legacy planned proposal. It will give you a grasp of your market.
"Excuse me, I don't mean to cut you off, but where is the bathroom located?"
The young lady says, "This is your bedroom and bathroom."
When he heard the word bathroom, Shane flew past the young lady, as the feeling returned with force the minute he heard the word bathroom. She looked startled as he moved toward her with his dark eyebrows furrowed. He closed the door in a hurry and unzipped his slacks. The flow of urination felt so good.
While washing his hands, he chuckled, thinking about how startled she looked when he flew past her to get to the bathroom. "I must apologize to her. Second thought, Why do I even care? Stay focused, Shane. Isn't this all about you getting the position of CEO?" He told himself, stepping out of the bathroom proudly.
Shane began looking around the place, and she stood in the living room, with her back to him, looking out the window that took up a whole wall. It's a beautiful view of the windy city of Chicago.
So, he walked up and stood alongside her, saying. "Wow! My room has an awesome view."
Not realizing that Shane had entered the room, I jumped, turning at an angle and looking at him. When she looked at him, Shane saw a pair of hot brown eyes with a sparkle. It was the first time he saw her eyes from this vantage point in the bright light. He slowly smiled as he gazed into her face.
I quickly turned my head and said. "Mr. Baxter or Kim, whichever one you call yourself. I ordered room service for you. It will give you time to eat and freshen up before your meeting on the 1st floor in the next hour. If you need anything between now and then, this is my card. Call me." I handed him the card as I headed toward the door.
Shane looked at the card, and when he looked back up, the young lady had left his Suite. He quickly caught up to me as I opened the door.
"Ms. Peta, thank you for everything." The man uttered, smiling warmly at me.
I still couldn't give him direct eye contact, but I gave it my best shot. The thought of looking at him made me upset with myself. Especially the way my heart fluttered inside.
I replied. "You're welcome. Mr. Bax..."
"Hey, just call me Shane, If that would be easier for you."
I nodded and walked away. All the while, I'm thinking, "What excuse can I come up with to get out of this assignment? I don't care how much a bonus comes with this seduction scheme! I can see this is going to be trouble!"
