Chapter 2 Olivia.

"I believe I had a related issue just like yours Amira. I wanna know why you walked away from your engagement party mid-last year and some of the experience you have when it comes to marriage and divorce?" Olivia asks abruptly and her face soars.

Amira was stunned but not as stunned as you may think because everyone knows her stories. The damage that leads to her triple divorce.

Separation in marriage is never a sweet thing, but sometimes, there is a need to let it happen.

"Walking away from my engagement party meant exchanging the delights of a bride for the embarrassment of a deserter. It's better to walk away than to be abused and embarrassed after marriage." She said while smiling.

"Really?" Olivia asked.

"I face a lot of challenges in my parent's house. The torture, abuse, and trauma I face in thy house. That forces me to get married to Oscar, just to be free from my stepmom's abuse and torture, and people's wrong impression made me leave a life of visioness and meaningless that led to my divorce. I wouldn't want to face that trauma or abuse in my marriage again." She said instead of smirking she was smiling.

Amira gives in to people's wrong impressions, which leads to her divorce because people tend to exhibit what they call a progression bias an irresistible inclination that made her push forward with a romantic relationship, regardless of red flags and abuse.

With all her experiences, and all the torture she received from Sara her stepmom. She wouldn't want to face the same challenges in her marriage.

Amira's proposal did not go as planned. She and her fiance often plan their futures together. They discussed everything from their wedding plans to how the proposal should go. But after her previous public proposal and divorce. Amira was terrified by the thought of having another public proposal, And she walked out of her engagement party after learning her fiance had planned one for her, despite knowing she wouldn't accept a public proposal and she walk away from her engagement party.

The shocking tale came to light when she called her friend Freya explaining why she walked out of her engagement party, leaving her boyfriend surrounded by their family and friends. And people have been left stunned by her decision not to have a public proposal.

"I hope people understand other people's choices when it comes to marriage. Because I never attended my engagement party. I love my fiance and believe he's the one God has bestowed on me, but he goes against my choice." Olivia said.

"Whatever is the reason that makes you not to attend your proposal occasion. Whatever the reason, belief, is the best, and don't leave a life of regret. If you want to be happy, do not dwell in the past, do not worry about the future, focus on living fully in the present" Amira said and Olivia smiled.

"Am happy to hear that." Olivia affirm.

"After my previous public proposal, I was terrified of having a public proposal, just like you Olivia. But I end up getting the surprise of my life when I learned my partner was planning to pop the question in public, despite knowing I would hate it, and he did accept never to surprise me with a public proposal. Because I won't be able to face such a proposal after my first experience." Amira said

"This is why I need some advice because I wouldn't want to face any challenges in my marriage that can lead to break up because my boyfriend said I have to tender a public apology before he could accept my request." Olivia said with a smirk on her innocent face.

"I believe we have some similarities, but I wouldn't want you to go through my experiences." Amira said.

Olivia sigh hurriedly and flipped her hair over her shoulder. As she was skeptical after declining her engagement party.

Olivia is young and desperate to get married, but she was skeptical. She felt her choices in the marriage won't be accepted by her fiance which may lead to divorce after marriage and she skipped her engagement party and left her boyfriend humiliated

Ever since then Olivia and her fiance have been fighting all week because her fiance felt embarrassed in front of family and friends by not showing up.

But Olivia has every intention of saying yes to his proposal, but she doesn't like being put on the spot or being made to feel obligated to say yes because of an audience.

And she made it clear to her fiance that she would hate a public proposal. The very idea gives her hives and makes her queasy with anxiety, as she never wants a public proposal.

When her birthday celebrations rolled around, Olivia figured out something was up, as they planned to meet at the restaurant for her birthday and her fiance was planning to pop the question in the restaurant. She decides to call her friend to confirm before going to the restaurant.

A few minutes into the call, Olivia put two and two together, and immediately she called her best friend Charlotte, who reluctantly confirmed her fears. And things quickly went from bad to worse. She became traumatized when she called her boyfriend.

"Baby, it is true what am hearing? But I told you I don't want a public engagement. Why do this to me?" She laments over the phone.

"Yea baby, I just wanna surprised you." He retorted without wasting time, and he couldn't deny it, and he told her he'd reserved the entire restaurant for 85 people. Olivia was stunned, and she felt betrayed.

"This wasn't our plans baby. Am sorry, I can't, but if you promised not to propose in front of everyone there, I will" Olivia affirmed over their phone.

"I understand baby but I told some people, and those words got around and they were now expecting a grand gesture proposal. I gat no choice, otherwise, I wouldn't have wasted everyone's time and money coordinating and getting them down here for us." He said

"But this wasn't our plan baby. If you insist on doing this in a way which made me uncomfortable, I wouldn't be coming at all." She reacted immediately while tears were rolling down her eyes.

"I understand you completely, but you're ungrateful for not showing up. Because we both know you would have showed up and easily said yes to my proposal because any other woman would kill for a boyfriend, who would go through the toughest of ways to make a grand gesture proposal." He said while on the phone.

Olivia sighed hastily, but her fiance thought she was joking, she then hung up and stopped answering the phone.
