Chapter 4 Claudia Breeze

A few minutes ago

"Hmmm, where are those pricks?" she thinks to herself. "I know I have scouted the entire forest but still no signs of them. I don't think they are evolved Arkshem types but how are they still able to hide from me?" she added and constantly moves her head to look for the Arkshems. "Just where are they?" she breathes deeply to get a good understanding where the enemies are hiding inside the forest. Then all of the sudden, her eyes widened when she caught a wind of the situation.

Her eyes moved as if she knows exactly where the Arkshems are. "They are moving. No- they are chasing something- someone! Is there a person inside the forest?!" she quickly flies to where the Arkshems are and sees that they are moving is a fast pace. "Just be there in time." She tells herself over and over again. She breathes deeply again and this time, she learns that it is a kid that the Arkshems are chasing.

"Those bastards!" she yells as her eyes glow a golden shade. "I will annihilate you all!" she swears and pierce through the air with her insane speed and reached Koren in just a matter of seconds. "There you are you bastards. Why don't you take one someone your own size!"

SIZZLE! SIZZLE!

The tip of Claudia's spear got covered in fast moving wind that it created a field of electricity around the blade. "Take this!" she quickly swings her spear before the Arkshems could do anything to harm Koren who seem to be terrified of what is happening before him.

BAM!

One of the Arkshems crashed through the trees while the other one is able to defend from her attack and the electricity zaps the enigma that made it move away as measure to keep itself from harm's way.

BZZT! BZZZT!

"Are you okay kid?" she asked and Koren is fine enough to answer her. "Yes. Thank you big sister." Claudia is both glad and surprised when she hears this and she could not help but smile at the situation. "I did not have someone call me big sister in the past. I never thought that I would like the sound of that." She fakes a smile and tells Koren not to worry anymore now that she is here. "Don't worry. Big sis is here so there is no need for you to worry about anything." She said wit a gallant tone while the other Arkshem reunites with the other.

"They really are not evolved yet. That make things easier." She tells herself after seeing them up close. "Kid. You know what those things are right? I want you to get away from here as soon as I fight them okay? It is not safe to stay here, you could get hurt." She turns her gaze to Koren who quickly nod his head. "Yes big sis."

"On my signal, you are to run towards the village okay? I heard some people are coming here as well. They look like they are looking for you as well." She smiles and bears her spear towards the Arkshems. "Now go!" Claudia swings her spear once again and sent searing blades of wind from the tip of her spear but the Arkshems are agile enough to dodge the attacks.

"Just as I thought, it would be hard to take them down with a skill that is still in development." She thinks to herself but that was a distraction to make Koren run away from the scene. "Now that he is not here, I might be able to fight properly." A smile crept on her face as her face slowly glow a golden shade. "Let the party begin." She muttered to herself as she jumps on the Arkshems.

HUFF! HUFF! HUFF! HUFF! HUFF! HUFF! HUFF!

"Will big sis be fine?" Koren looks back and sees Claudia fighting the Arkshems in equal footing and even overwhelm them with her strength.

CHANG! CHANG! CHANG! CHANG! CHANG! CHANG!

"Amazing. So that is a champion." Koren thinks to himself as he stands in the place where he hid the deer from the Arkshems during their pursuit. The deer slowly walk out of the hole when it sense Koren outside and slowly walks up to him and stands by his side. "See her? She is a champion of one of the gods. She is really powerful isn't she?" Koren ask the deer even when he knows that the deer could not offer him an answer.

CHANG! CHANG! CHANG! CHANG! CHANG! CHANG!

The Arkshems and Claudia engage in high speed fight that Koren is having a hard time seeing what is happening and in just a blink of an eye, one of the Arkshems is killed.

POOOV!

It's body crumbled to dust after cutting it's head off. "That's one down." She mutters with a cold tone but the next thing she saw shocked her. The remaining Arkshem is staring at it's comrade's corpse like a person that lost someone dear to it which is greatly confusing since Claudia knows that Arkshem are beings that's sole purpose is to kill humans and to see something so similar to human reactions confuse her.

"What in the world is that reaction?" her brief distraction gave the Arkshem the chance to run away and the direction it chose was in the same direction where Koren is watching. "Oh no!" Claudia quickly threw away her spear towards the Arkshem's direction. "Eye of the storm."

At the tip of her spear, a sudden surge of wind swept the land and after a brief moment, the wind moved a different direction and swallowed everything on it's path, even the Arkshem that is moving towards Koren. While getting sucked in by a violent force, Koren made sure to bring the deer with him and run away in the opposite direction. "Because of me, the Arkshem nearly got away." He thinks to himself while hugging the deer tightly.

The Arkshem turns to dust after getting sucked in by the force at the tip of Claudia's spear and after eliminating the enigma, it returns to her hands.

SHLICK!

"Phew! I thought something bad is going to happen to him." She wipes the sweat from her forehead as the village people comes in to view and before she knows it, Herin had already arrived beside Keron's side. "Are you okay Koren? Don't worry, daddy is here." He said as he embrace his son tightly. Claudia saw all this and could not help but smile. "Koren huh? What a weird name." she said to herself.

"Thank you very much for helping us champion." A voice came from behind her and it turns out that it was the village head that spoke to her. "Good day village head. Please don't worry about it. It was my job after all." She said with a smile. "That may be so but you saved the life of my son. I will not let his savior go without properly giving our thanks." Herin said while standing behind her. "Then I guess I have no choice."

They all returned to the village that morning and Herin told his wife what happened and she almost fainted at the thought of her son in danger and she doesn't even have a single clue about it. "It was an expected reaction." The village head said. Koren's entire family thank her for saving him and cook her food for her entire stay in the village. "I could not thank you enough for saving my son." Claudia ended up being the village's guest.

"My name is Claudia Breeze. I am the champion of the god of wind, Zephyr. Please take care of me." She said and bows her head. They all talk about her for the entire night and how brave she was to face Arkshems on her own and the talks about her did not end with a single person but the entire village.

"Phew! This is even more tiring than taking care of those Arkshems." She said to herself after finally getting away from the grasp of the people that wants to talk to her and fled to the rooftops. "Thank you very much big sis for saving me earlier." She is surprised to find Koren sitting on the rooftop as well. "Woah! I did not sense you haha!" Koren smiles and bows his head. "So your name is Koren right? There is no need to thank me. It is my job after all. To be honest, I am surprised that you did not even cry or froze in fear earlier. Most people would just accept their fate and let themselves be killed. I've seen that a couple of times."

She then remembers that she is talking to a kid and take back what she said. "Sorry."

"Its okay. If I became the same people that you have met in the past then I would have let my friends die earlier." He replied that made her confused since she did not see any other person besides him inside the forest. "Are you referring to the animals? The deer that you were holding earlier?" Koren nod his head and reply. "Yes. They are my friends." Claudia lets out a hearty laugh at his response.

"HAHAHAH! How can you say that with a straight face. You really are weird!" she then offers her hand to him. "I am Claudia Breeze. Nice to meet you Koren but you can call me big sis." The two shake hands and after that Koren tells her how amazing she was earlier.
