Hazel eyes stared at her as Addison lay pressed between the floor and the mystery guy's body. 'It is the most beautiful pair of eyes I have ever seen' she thought. Her gaze roamed over his face and that's when she realised just how handsome he looked. His chiselled jaw could cut steel.
" Oh look what a romantic morning it is. Miss. Brown and her boyfriend here have fallen in love. Literally." A loud voice resonated through the hall making everyone inside the class cackle. The eyes which were staring at her looked away and the guy got up leaving Addison alone to her misery. She helped herself up and looked around. Every person in the room was staring at her.
" Miss. Brown. Do you have anything to say?" the devil disguised as her teacher asked. Addison started apologising . " I'm so sorry Mr. Montgomery. It's not what it looked like. I was just opening the classroom door when I heard something from behind. It startled me making me loose my balance . I sincerely apologise"
"Oh really? How may I ask did this lad here fall along with you?"
Addison wanted to disappear and never come back. She looked at the guy for help assuming he would say something. He looked back at her raising his eyebrow. Jerk.
" He tried to catch me from falling and ended up falling along with me." She really wanted this nightmare to end.
" She's right sir. It was an accident. I'm Alex Miller . I got my approval to change classes from Basic Mathematics to Calculus just today." The guy finally spoke up.
" Okay okay. I'm going to let you both off the hook today. Mr. Alex, welcome to my class. You can take the seat beside Miss. Brown. If you need the previous classes' notes or any other help with the subject, Miss. Brown here would assist you with it. Please go to your places now"
Addison breathed a sigh of relief and hurried to her seat.
Alex Miller looked at the girl, amused by how she was half running to her seat like her life depended on it.
Today had been one of the most entertaining mornings of Alex's lifetime. Being a high school student while holding a fulltime job as a private tutor did not allow him the normal fun every other student experienced. He didn't want it that way but it's not like he had an option. 'Hang in there for a little while longer' he always said to himself. 'It's just a matter of time for it to get better.' He sighed and took his seat. Might as well concentrate on the class which will give him the credits he needed for a good scholarship.
Addison Brown was making it her mission in life not to lift her gaze up from the book. Just as she was about to look at her wrist watch to check what time it was, the bell rang. Finally. She stuffed her books inside her bag and was ready to make a run for it when the same voice from morning stopped her.
" I'm sorry about what happened in the morning. I didn't mean to scare you." The hazel eyed boy whom she now knew as Alex Miller said.
Addison stared at him shocked. Never in her life has any man she knew apologised for something even when they knew they were wrong. In Addison 's experience, all of them were egoistic maniacs who would rather stab themselves to death than admit they made a mistake.
She was still staring. She had to say something. But Alex Miller didn't wait for her to reply. He picked his bag up, hung it loosely on his shoulder and left without glancing back.
