Chapter 4 4

I woke up in the late hours of the morning to clanking of plates and spoons.

A very bright and happy smile lit up my face at the thought of the food Mrs Virginia would be cooking, her taste in food is just so superb and I really can't wait to munch down on it.

I hurriedly pulled off the duvet from my body and came down from my magnificent bed, I put my feet into my flip flops, parked my hair in ponytail style and left few to roll down my face, to make it look messy.

I just can't help the look my servants give to me when they see me looking so dishevelled in the morning, only if they knew how hard it took me to create a morning dishevelled glow on my face.

I went out from the room and closed it, hopping down my step. Just before I would enter the kitchen, Mrs Virginia already sang out her morning greetings to me.

"Good morning Princessa!", she said in her very thick Italian accent, just when I was about to respond to her greetings, the smell of waffles hit me right in my nose, I had to stop myself from salivating and take a little hold of myself.

She turned to look at me and gave me a very wide smile, which I would term as charming, surprising she is 67, but looks like she is 35.

When she began working with me at first I had doubts of her real age, I always told myself that she was only trying to earn respect from me through an easy means, until her cute three grand children came visiting her, whenever I looked at her, I always wished I could be like her somewhere in my heart, so young with grand children already, I knew where I would have been by now if it was not with the bad incident that brought my life into a very bad mishape.

"Would you want to eat the waffles now?", the voice of Mrs Virginia brought me out of my deep thoughts, I had unintentionally zoned out.

I clutched at my stomach and gave it a tight squeeze as my stomach growled loudly telling me how hungry she is.

"No!!, I ain't really that hungry, water would do", I told Mrs Virginia.

She turned towards me, thereby backing the kitchen counter, she surveyed my face slowly trying to read my expression.

"Is everything alright?", She asked me.

"Yeah", I blankly replied.

"It does not sound like, if there's any problem, you can confide in me", She said.

"There's no problem, Mrs Virginia!!", I replied in an icy tone.

"That's it, you really do not have a problem until you call me by my first name, or you start arguing with me about you not having something bothering you", Mrs Virginia stated.

Yeah, I knew she would get me at this, God!!, I really sulk at lying.

"I would be travelling", I told her.

"Yeah?, you would be travelling?, so what's wrong with that?.

Are you suddenly afraid of flights or you have developed a phobia for it, because last I can remember you loved traveling, infact you had a passion for it", She curtly replied me.

I walked towards the counter opposite her and rested against it.

"I didn't know how it happened, I didn't even do a thorough background check on my client.", I told her.

"Yes?, That was a mistake you could also correct that, you can still do it now", she replied me, ignorant of my present situation.

"You just don't get it, Mrs Virginia.... you just don't understand", I told her.

"Okay.. really I don't, so explain better to me, let me understand you clearly", Mrs Virginia said.

She was looking at me, weirdly. Anyways I wasn't expecting her to put one and two together to figure out the mess I had put myself into.

"I just found out that my client's husband is......", I paused not even knowing how to relate the nesw to her.

"Is who?", she questioned, I felt she was already getting anxious to know what had tied me in knots.

"Don. Roderigo. De. Alva", I stated, while I placed my palms over my forehead.

Mrs Virginia's eyes widened over what I said, after which she bursted into a hysterical laughter. I won't judge her, if it was me I would do the same, everything sounded funny but looking through it, it was just so terrifying.

I wondered what I was going to say to him, when he sees me in his house. I remembered his last words to me, before I left Spain.

"It should be the last time, I ever see your...

"Cassandra tell me you're joking!!", Mrs Virginia shrieked in wide horror, I guessed she thought I was joking.

So bad and terrible, I don't make jokes like this, it's so terrifying to be called a joke. I didn't like the way she looked at me in pure horror, maybe it was a bad idea telling her who I would see in the future.

I wondered why I said in the future, when it was only a day left. Would I casually call it a day when it's an eight hours and thirty five minutes flight from Trinidad to Spain.

"Please just bring the waffles and my warm milk to the dinning table", I told her.

She saw the look in my eyes and knew I wasn't ready to take the discussion further, she gave me this knowing look and turned around to continue her day's work.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"You!!!, just randomly going for shopping, I'm surprised.... or are you going there for any other thing?.
You seldomly buy new dresses and even though you should do, you hardly put them on", Melchora said.
"Anyways....", she continued, "I am always here when the need to pass down your dresses both used and unused comes by", she said, grinning like a four year old child who was promised a candy stick by her Grandma.
I need not tell her about Don Roderigo, the ruthless and inhumane Mafia, because she would discourage me never to go.
She would stop at no means to make sure my attempts at going to Spain becomes futile, so I needn't worry her nor bother myself.
I was only still making plans on travelling to Spain because of one reason and that's because of Miss Ellie Santiago, if she wasn't a young and ignorant assed lady, I wouldn't have made an attempt on planning to travel.
I wanted by all means to make sure the world knows Don Roderigo De Alva for what he truly is and I want to be the person to unmask him, he has been masked for long.
I could not wait to see the reaction on his face, when I finally achieve my aims, he would hate me for life... yes?, I know that.
"But fuck!!!", I cursed, do I really care?, I really do not give a damn about it, I don't.
"Snap out of your thoughts, màdmòíséllè", she said in an unrather like french accent. The people here, spoke more of English than french, they speak more of Patois, which is like a slang of French.
We hurriedly looked for dresses which would match the weather condition of Spain, since it was rather cold and chilly there, I required more of cardigans, hoodies and sweaters, but there was this strapless red gown which had a slit that started from mid thigh to my leg.
I fell in love with it immediately, I had no choice but to pick it, it looked tempting and ......
It was so beautiful, it was the first dress I paid for when I came to the counter, the young lady selling it did not make matters easy by saying how perfect the gown would look on me, since I was so slender and curvy in the right places with full boobs.
It definitely would look mouth watering,and I can not wait to put on the red strapless gown with high slits.
I and Melchora talked all the way to her house, but I can swear that my mind was not in what she had been saying, my thoughts were centred on only one person, Don Roderigo De Alva.
