Bang! Bang!!
Two shots fired.
Man down.
One fool. One liar.
A group of armed men chased a young boy through the street.
"Over here."
"I got eyes on the target!"
"Hey kid, you better stop running!"
"Make me, old fool." The young boy replied, his breathing heavy, his eyes scanned the area, he dashed through the thin corridors.
It seems as though he had stolen something valuable from them.
Sounds of his foot stamp echoed through the thin pathway, he weaved through the streets, making it very difficult for the men to track him down.
It wasn't long until he lost them, leaving them chasing shadows.
He leaned on a big container, the container offered him shade from his enemies.
He dipped his hands into his pocket. The shiny light from the jewelry stabbed his eyes.
He uses his hand to block out the spark.
The jewelry was shaped like a piece of diamond.
"Game!" His eyes wide with interest.
"Hey, that's mine, give it back." A little girl said.
"if wishes were horses..." A half smirk tucked Enzo's lips
The girl points directly at the jewelry. "Give it back!" Her face turned red. Her neck veins bulged.
"I don't think that's going to happen." He said, putting away the jewelry somewhere out of reach, deep in his pockets.
"Please... please... please..." The girl said repeatedly.
"I know you're pretty and all, but this is my paycheck right here." Enzo said, his eyes beaming.
He lifts the piece of jewelry for her to see.
"They will kill you. If you return the necklace, you don't die." She glanced around repeatedly, stamping her feet rapidly.
"Very funny." Enzo chuckles. "What are you smoking lately? I think you're on cheap weed." A wide grin spread across Enzo face.
"Over here.... She is here! I found her." One of the armed men yelled as he dashed towards her.
Enzo's eyes widened in shock. He froze on the spot. "I am so screwed." He mouthed.
He hurriedly hid the jewelry back in his pocket, he summoned courage and was about to take to his heels.
He suddenly tripped and fell. Time seem to slow down as he tried to pick himself up.
Before he could get his head up, the armed men pointed his pistol at him and took the first shot.
Enzo's heart raced. His hands trembling. "Am I dead?" He said inaudibly.
The guard narrowly missed just a whisker away from his head.
Enzo struggled to move, his legs were heavy as dead wood. The armed man reloaded his gun to take the second shot.
He aimed for the Enzo's chest this time to decrease his chances of not hitting the target.
"So this is it? This is how I die." Enzo exhaled deeply. but the girl ran between Enzo and the armed man, interrupting him from shooting.
"What are you doing, Antonella?"
This diversion created an avenue for Enzo to escape, and he did not hesitate to take it. In a blink of an eye, he bounced up to his feet, busting through the air like a spearheaded arrow, and in a split second, he vanished.
Though he did not run far, he found a hiding place where he monitored the situation as he watched the armed man and his colleagues take the girl away in an SUV, followed by a few more security cars.
He then slowly approaches the spot again where he picked up the bullets which missed him by a few inches. He took note of the marking on the bullet. "BT1992". He used his thumb to clear the markings engraved underneath it,
"Bologna!" Enzo gasped as he recognized the markings.
He recognized the bullet by De Ja Vu, put the bullet in his pockets, and leaves the scene.
