CHAPTER 1
Middle aged man
Ivy stumbled her way out of the elevator as she made her way to her room.
"Why is it not working?" She mumbled as she kept trying to unlock the door. She twisted that knob and the door opened.
"Humm!" She huffed angrily as she walked into the room.
"Why is it so cold? But I feel hot."
"Get out!"
Ivy was shocked by the voice she heard as the room was dark and had not noticed anyone when she walked in.
"Why should I? This... this is my room, you.. you should be the one leaving." Ivy spoke, her throat dry from the fire burning within her.
She stared intensely at the figure who had his back facing the window. The moonlight shone in revealing his figure, his face couldn't be seen clearly.
Ivy walked towards him completely oblivious that she was walking into the lion's den.
"I wouldn't come any closer if I were you."
"Why?" She ignored his warning and kept walking towards him.
When she finally got to where he sat she couldn't take her eyes off him. He had his button opened halfway, his firm chest could be seen.
"So handsome..." She muttered cheekily as she leaned in to run her hand over his chest. Unfortunately he stopped her before she touched him, which left Ivy disappointed but she didn't give up.
"Humm."
Her brows frowned in anger, Leo chuckled at how cute she looked when she frowned. He let go off her hand after a few seconds, the moment he let go she bounced on him. Before he could react Ivy was lying on top of him.
"Ha.." She laughed out triumphantly as she ran her hand over his chest, Leo who had been holding on all this while finally snapped when he got a whiff of her scent.
"you asked for this." He grabbed her wandering hand and placed it above her head as he leaned in to kiss her.
Ivy felt like the kiss was like a bucket of ice water being poured on her burning heart. She leaned in closer responding to his kiss.
After a few hours Leo who had just finished showering helped Ivy who was fast asleep clean up. She was completely burnt out and showed no sign of waking up.
He helped carry her back to her original room, he left a note with his number on it asking her to call him when she woke up. He had to leave urgently and couldn't wait for her to wake up before leaving.
The next morning Ivy woke to see Dave by her side, she couldn't remember what happened the previous night but she could tell that what happened the previous night was not a dream as she could feel the pain from the intense exercise. When she saw Dave by her side she assumed he was the one she had sec with.
She was both relaxed and unhappy. She had imagined how she would lose her virginity and having no recollection of it wasn't one of it.
Leo waited patiently for her call but her call never came. He thought of searching but he had no idea where to start. His memory of that night wasn't clear, after he slept and woke the memory of that night was not clear. He could remember her voice and her scent but her face was blurry.
All he had left was the hope that she would call but that hope disappeared slowly every day.
"Ivy.. Ivy... have you heard?"
"What is it? Cynthia, It better be something important."
Leo, who had just walked in shock when he heard her familiar voice. After three years of searching this was the first time he heard a voice that sounded just like hers. Which led him to come to the conclusion that she was the one.
"Mr Leo is coming to supervise you guys." Cynthia responded excitedly expecting Ivy to be excited as well.
"So what? What difference would his presence make? Whether he's here or not doesn't change anything for me. I just want to get this over with and go home. It's just rumours anyway."
"Sigh, you really don't know what an opportunity this is. I mean you'd get to see the richest bachelor in the country. What if you...."
"Hold it there, you better not say what I think you want to say."
"Fine, I don't even know what you see in that jerk. Of all the good men on earth, why did you have to choose that person?"
"I don't know what Dave has ever done to you to make you hate him. I think you should get to know him, trust me you will like him."
"I don't want to. He's a snub, I don't want to have anything to do with him. Too bad no one knows what Mr Leo looks like, he would be a perfect fit for you."
"Have you ever thought that maybe he's a middle aged man? So you're pushing your best friend into the arms of a middle aged man because he's powerful."
"No way, that can't be true, no one has ever seen his face but they've always mentioned that he was in his late twenties."
"Get those thoughts out of your head and focus on getting through your defense successfully. By the way this might all be a rumour so stop being excited, I'm more interested to see the former student of the head of the department."
"Really? Is he handsome? For him to be a student under Mr Simon means that he's really smart."
"You are willing to push me into anybody's arms other than Dave's. You really need to tell me what he has done for you to hate him so much."
"I've told you several times that I think he's pretending. One day he will show you his true colours. I just hope it won't be too late."
"Stop worrying about me and start worrying about yourself. You're still single, maybe I should ask mom to prepare a few blind dates for you."
"How many times do I have to tell you that I have my sights set on you brother. He's the one for me."
"How did you even fall in love with that block of ice? Good luck getting him."
"So you're not against me courting him?"
"Of course not. Wouldn't it be perfect if we became sisters-in-law?"
"You're right. How wonderful, from best friends to sister in-law."
"Don't get your hopes high."
