Chapter 1 The Anniversary Party

Chloeeeee!! Wake up and get ready. We are running late for work, and you know that I hate the stares those snobbish directors give to us whenever they get there before us, Clarice exclaimed, but Chloe was still sleeping.

Chloeeeee, chloeeeeeee, don't make me wake you up with cold water, wake that lazy ass up and get ready madam.

Alright, alright I'm up, Stop with the shouting this early morning, i don't want to suffer from ear bleeding, Chloe said playfully and got out of bed to get ready before another nagging session starts from her majesty.

Clarice and Chloe have been best friends and roommates since the beginning of their college days and they now work for one of the biggest companies in the country but in different departments. Clarice is the second assistant to the president of R&G company and Chloe works in the PR department.

Today is the company's anniversary and as relevant members of their department, they have to be there very early to sort out things before the board of directors arrive for the last meeting because the party will be in the evening.

Chloe walks out of the room all dressed up in a nice office suit with pants and hugs Clarice from the back murmuring good morning to her.

They both sit down to have their breakfast which consists of pancakes, bacon, and coffee prepared by Clarice.

After breakfast, they leave for work together in Clarice's car. While on their way, Clarice makes calls to confirm that everything is okay and ready for the morning meeting and also contacts those in charge of the anniversary party to check up on their progress.

The party will be held at the biggest hotel in the country ROYAL HOTEL and all dignitaries in the country which including Ceo's, Senators, Politicians, and other wealthy and famous people will be present at the 50th anniversary of the company.

Good morning Ana, Clarice greets the secretary who in turn responds and gives them a warm smile. Mr. Henderson is already in the office and he's in his usual mood, Anna warned me.

Thanks, Anna, I will be careful. I blow her a kiss and walk straight to the Conference room to check if everything is ready.

Noah's pov

Boss, Celine's manager just called to inform me that she's out with a cold and can't be your plus one tonight, Aaron the personal secretary of Noah tells him.

Aaron was ready to receive scolding from his boss but the words he uttered next shocked him.

Hmm okay so let's go with plan B and make sure everything is alright, I don't want anything to go wrong with the program tonight, said Noah.

Ermm Sir, there's no plan B because she has been the one attending the program with you for 3 years ago so today's situation is impromptu but I will make sure to find you someone before the meeting ends.

You know I hate it when these things happen right? You always have to be prepared for every situation that comes your way Aaron, Noah says in a displeased voice.

Sorry Sir it won't happen again, I will contact Malia's agent and arrange for her to be ready before the start of the anniversary.

Don't worry, I already have someone in mind and she will be the perfect person for the job. Just go and get all the files needed for the meeting ready and also tell Secretary Clarice to come to my office now he has ordered.

The heavens are really on my side this time. My prayer is that Clarice will accept the invitation of being my plus one today and be my woman after tonight.

I know it's going to be a tough job asking her to be my partner tonight and an even impossible one to get her to be my woman but I have to try. I just hope I won't have to resort to force in this situation.
