Valerie let her tears flow freely as she was bound by silver, it hurt so much that she felt like dying. All her life, she had lived with a tyrant and suffered, just when she thought she had found happiness, everything came crashing down, now here she was, ready to be executed for something that wasn't her fault. She missed Drake so much, she wished she could see him for the last time before her death.
The door to the cell screeched open and she looked up to see one of the council guards approaching her. She moved back in fear but he pulled her up by her wrist and dragged her out, bringing her before the head of the council.
"Any last words!" Lucinda said, tapping her 8ft long Sceptre on the concrete floor.
"Your highness, I am sorry for every inconvenience I've caused you but I'm harmless, I can't even hurt a fly. I haven't learnt how to use my powers yet." Valerie lamented.
"That's none of my business, whether you've mastered your powers or not doesn't change the fact that you're a taboo to the magical realm, you must die to restore balance," Lucinda said, every of her word shattering Valerie's hope to pieces.
"But, your majesty, please don't kill me. Spare me and I'll forever be your slave." Valerie said, she knew how grave this decision was but she wanted to give it a go at least she would be alive and see Drake one day.
"That offer sounds juicy but I smell treason so, I'm not going to accept that. Take her to the execution ring." Lucinda ordered and the guards held her immediately.
She was already too weak to struggle.
They put her hand down on the stone while a guard stood with his sword raised, waiting for Lucinda's orders.
Valerie sniffed back her tears, all she could think of was Drake.
"I love you, Drake, too bad I won't be able to see you before I die but you'll always be in my heart, even till death. I love you."
"Kill her!"
Chapter One:
"How could you let this happen?" Alpha Drake yelled in fury, slamming the papers in his hand on the desk in his study.
Reno flinched, fear, worry, regret and anxiety evident in his face. He didn't know what punishment awaited him.
"I... I. I am sorry, Alpha." He bowed.
"Sorry? Will sorry bring those weapons back? I strictly told you to guard them that Alpha Emmaus will come to get them soon, but what did you do? You just had to allow some pathetic rogue wolves to lay their paws on them." Alpha Drake complained.
"I am very sorry, Alpha. I won't repeat the same mistake." Reno pleaded, he knew there was nothing he could say to justify himself in this case. He could swear he never planned to fall asleep on duty but he knew better than to upset the Alpha further. He simply lowered his head, ready to take whatever was going to be unleashed on him.
Alpha Drake ran his hands through his head and sighed frustratedly.
"Leave!" He said.
Reno was shocked, maybe he didn't hear well.
"Alpha, I_"
"Leave!" Alpha Drake snapped and Reno rushed out, grateful to the moon goddess for whatever came upon the Alpha to release him without punishment.
Every single werewolf in the Moon Crescent Pack knew how merciless their Alpha was when his orders are flaunted or things don't go the way he wants.
"What are we going to do now? My Alpha." Beta Alex bowed slightly.
Alpha Drake sighed and plopped down on the chair, tapping the desk as if thinking of what to say.
"Send warriors after them." He ordered.
"We've done that already." Beta Alex replied.
"Send more!" Alpha Drake said, he knew how cunning rogue wolves can be, he won't take any chances of losing those weapons to them. Plus, he isn't going to owe Alpha Emmaus any explanation for the disappearance of his weapons.
"Okay, Alpha." Beta Alex said and stood there, waiting to be dismissed.
"You may leave now." Alpha Drake said, gazing at him before returning his gaze to the paper he was holding.
Beta Alex bowed before leaving.
Alpha Drake read through the contents of the letter again and clenched his fists tightly. When will Alpha Frederick stop causing chaos in his kingdom? Why wouldn't the scumbag let him have peace for a minute? How on Earth did he find out about the weapons? Could there be a mole in his kingdom?
He shook his head to wave the thoughts away, he was going to get to the bottom of all these.
He stood up and entered his bedroom which was the biggest in the packhouse, he took off his clothes and entered the bathroom. He needed to rest his nerves now, he had a hectic day today. From a meeting with the pack elders to meeting a fight in his kingdom, he sighed and waved all those thoughts away.
He got out of the shower with a towel wrapped around his waist while drying his hair. He stared at his perfectly sculpted body in the standing mirror and grinned, pleased with what he's seeing. If only he had someone who would wake up to compliment him every day.
He wiped his body dry with the towel and slipped into casual wear before stepping out for some air.
He started taking a walk, savouring the sweet view and enjoying the massive landscape of his kingdom.
"Good afternoon Alpha."
"Welcome, Alpha."
"Good afternoon your majesty."
He smiled at them and continued walking. He got to a place where he saw two Cubs playing tag, a sad smile found its way to his lips and he leaned on a tree, watching them play. When will he get to watch his Cubs play like this?
He continued watching them shift back to human and wolf while running, falling and getting back up again. All these made him yearn for his mate more, he wanted to see her, touch her, feel her hands intertwined with his. He wanted to see how beautiful she was, what her likes and dislikes were? He wants to know everything about her.
"Where are you?" He muttered, clutching to his chest while sighing heavily.

WITCHES COUNCIL.
Lucinda was seated on her silver throne with raven wings showing from both sides. Her red hair fell in waves, resting on the marble floor, she held her 8ft long Sceptre firmly and smirked.
"Bring him to me!" She ordered and the said person was brought before her.
"Kneel before the queen." Lila, her assistant said and the man knelt before her.
"How do you feel Josh?" She asked, tapping her perfectly manicured nails on the rails of her throne.
"Give me one last time to explain myself, your majesty." Josh pleaded even though he knew she wouldn't.
Lucinda laughed slightly.
"That's what you've been saying for the last two weeks, Josh! Yet, no results. What do you take me for? A fool!" She snapped at him angrily.
"No my queen, I would never think of you as a fool." He replied with his head lowered.
"Then, what is your justification?" She asked.
Josh became silent immediately, he tried to open his mouth but words failed him. How was he going to tell her that the person she trusted so much was the one who tried to poison her? That would be a death sentence for him if he dared, considering how much trust she had in the person. It was better he accepted a jail term now than to die a miserable death.
"Don't you have anything to say?" Lucinda asked, her patience wearing thin.
"No, your majesty." He shook his head.
"Lock him up till I decide on what to do with him," Lucinda ordered and the guards took him away.
"My Queen, the most beautiful witch that has ever existed, your beauty is more radiant than that of your counterparts, fairer than the moon goddess. " Lila said.
Lucinda's facial expression changed immediately, she clenched her fists so hard her knuckles started turning white.
Lila gasped, what did she say wrong this time? She was so in trouble right now.
"Leave my presence!" Lucinda thundered.
Lila didn't think twice before scurrying out of there.
"The moon goddess!" Lucinda muttered, cursing under her breath.

BLAZING FIRE PACK.
Valerie just finished with her chores for that day and dragged herself back to the small cottage she lived in. How her life turned to this, she doesn't know.
She slammed the door and made sure it was locked before pulling off her clothes to take her bath. After that, she made a little omelette and was about to eat when she heard a knock on her door.
She sighed and stood up, she opened it and her smile turned upside down. She already knew why he was here, she so much wanted to yell her lungs out at him right now and tell him to scram but she didn't want to get punished again.
"Tell him I'll be with him shortly." She said, bending her head.
"He said you should follow me and that my head will be served on a platter if I come without you." The guard said.
"I said..." She trailed off and sighed. "Let's just go."
"After you." The guard stretched forth his hand and she rolled her eyes.
"I am not lame, I can step down by myself." She said, feeling disgusted at his kind gesture.
She locked her door and stepped down from the stone at the front of her door, not bothering to wait for him. Besides, she knew the way herself.
The guard followed her calmly, he could sense her anger and irritation. He won't blame her though, no girl summoned by the big guy would go in and come out the same. But, he was just a mere guard and his job was to carry out the orders given to him. He doesn't have a say.
Valerie arrived at the packhouse and without waiting for her presence to be announced barged into the room.
"Oh, I can see you are so impatient, you couldn't wait to have me, could you?" He stood up from the bed he laid and approached her.
She moved back but he pulled her to himself, sniffing the freshness from her body, that scent that he was now addicted to, that scent that always turned him on whenever it wafted past his nostrils.
She tried to push him back but he held her hands.
"Calm down darling, let's take this slow and steady," He whispered into her ears, zipping down her gown to caress her bareback. "Now, tell me what you think of my proposal last time, I really can't wait to have and cherish you, to call you mine but most importantly, to_" He wasn't able to complete his statement as his eyes widened, threatening to bulge out of its sockets.
"Shit!"
