Chapter 1 A cheating partner

In a large hotel room filled with excitement for her bachelorette party, Jade held her champagne glass tightly.

The laughter and cheers from her friends echoed, but instead of feeling joyful, the noise began to overwhelm her.

It made her feel anxious and I feel a bit uneasy despite the celebrations happening all around.

It was her final night as a single woman, and she was determined to make the most of it. Her friends surrounded her, offering support and excitement as they celebrated her upcoming new chapter in life, cheering her on and congratulating her.

But amidst the cheering, Jade felt something wasn't right. The champagne she was enjoying suddenly became tasteless, and she had to sneak out, claiming she had a runny stomach.

On her way home, Jade felt goosebumps on her skin, as negative thoughts flooded her mind.

Jade arrived at her apartment and noticed her fiancé Luca's car was oddly parked. "Why did he bring his car? He rarely drives here," she thought as she walked towards the door.

Jade walked through the first door, still trying to shake off the loud noise from her bachelorette party. Her hair was a bit messy, showing that she had just come from a fun celebration.

When Jade came into her apartment, she felt strange. The place was so quiet that it made her nervous.

Normally, Luca isn't a reserved person, whenever he's around you can tell, either by loud music or leaving all the lights on. But this night was different.

Suddenly, she heard a cheerful giggle coming from her room. Slowly, Jade walked towards the room and opened the door, only to face a heartbreaking surprise.

Luca, the man who had promised to be with Jade forever, was now tangled up in bed with her cousin, Aria. Jade felt as if her world was falling apart.

She stood there, unable to move, her body feeling heavy and cold. Her hands trembled-not from anger yet, but from the slow understanding that the future she had imagined was now ruined.

Jade used her hands to cover her mouth, and her sight became blurry from the tears that didn't want to fall. Memories flashed back. Jade watched them sharing laughter and enjoying each other's company, as a warm red light slightly lit the room. She overheard her name in their conversation.

Jade took a deep breath, reached for her phone, feeling the need to capture the moment as evidence.

Jade already put her all into this wedding, inviting friends and relatives from far and near to come experience the product of her 5-year relationship.

The tears finally streamed down Jade's cheeks as she closed the door, and left without being spotted.

The next day, Jade looked stunning on her wedding day. Her dress was a perfect fit, beautifully showcasing her figure as her maid of honor walked her down the aisle. Everyone couldn't help but admire how the delicate lace sleeves enhanced the overall look of her dress.

Luca was already standing on the altar cracking some jokes and sweet-talking the guests.

Jade laughed at Luca's silly jokes and felt a little shy when the guests lifted their glasses to celebrate her. The lovely altar was glowing with a warm golden light, and the colorful glass decorations cast pretty designs on the bright floor.

Soft piano music started playing, blending with the low conversations of the two hundred guests who were all excitedly waiting to hear the bride say "I do."

Jade stood confidently, her bouquet shaking slightly in her hands; it wasn't from fear, but from anxiety. Her groom, Luca, smiled playfully as the priest prepared to finalize their vows.

"Jade, do you take Luca as your lawfully wedded husband" the priest said.

Jade paused for a moment as the audience's whispers faded away, and the atmosphere became calm and comforting.

Jade could have just said no if she didn't have evidence to prove that Luca was having an affair with another woman. Just saying no wouldn't have been a good way to embarrass him, she wanted him to know how it feels to be betrayed.

Suddenly, the music came to a stop. The speakers made a loud digital sound. The large screen behind the altar, which was supposed to show the couple's romantic pictures, turned on.

The first video was from the security camera, showing what happened last night at 11:15 PM: Luca, dressed in his suit from the rehearsal dinner, was checking his phone with a smile after parking his car in a dim part of the lot.

Then, the passenger door opened, and Aria stepped out, already starting to unbutton his shirt. They both leaned into each other as they headed into the apartment together.

Everyone in the hall gasped in chorus as they all glued their attention to the wide screen, the clip ended and the people seemed unsatisfied. Jade came prepared; the screen displayed another clip.

In the second clip, which Jade recorded herself, we see the loving couple curled up together under the blankets in Jade's bed. Aria laughed and asked, "Are you going to go in there and promise her vows after this?" Luca smiled and responded, "Well, a guy has to enjoy his meal first and then have some dessert!"

Jade stepped onto the dance floor, holding a microphone, with a sly smile "Oops, forgot to mention, I had you followed".

Jade tossed her bouquet at Aria and walked towards the exit, leaving everyone behind. The screen displayed a bold message that read, "I will survive."

Luca ran toward the screen, but the security guards stopped him, having been alerted by Jade beforehand. Outside, Jade walked back and forth in her wedding dress, stopping briefly to dump her veil into a trash can.

A car drifted to a stop, Her best friend, Darian, was the one driving. Jade hopped into the car, and in an instant, they zoomed away.

"Do you have the dress?" Jade asked. "Yes," Darian replied, handing a bag to Jade. She quickly changed into the dress while sitting in the passenger seat. "You can drop me off here," Jade said, feeling they were far enough, away from the wedding hall.

Jade got out of the car and took a taxi to a hotel bar nearby. As she arrived, she ordered a drink to help her relax. As she was enjoying her drink, a stranger approached and asked if he could join her at the table.

Without a second thought, Jade accepted the invitation and they started chatting over drinks. During their conversation, she discovered his name, Kaelan, and learned a bit about his life, while he found out why Jade was drowning herself in the bar.

The young man in a suit pants and a shirt, sitting next to her ordered another round of drinks and they continued to drink until they were both nearly intoxicated.

Kaelan took care of the bills and got a room ready for Jade. Come to think of it, he couldn't leave a defenseless lady in the bar with wild men who would stop at nothing to defile her. And sending her home was more difficult as he didn't know her home address.

He brought her to a private room upstairs, and as soon as Jade got there, she collapsed onto the bed, looking completely drained.

Just as Kaelan was about to leave, something unexpected happened, a hand grabbed his wrist firmly and a voice pleaded weakly, "Please don't leave me."
