Alexander's POV
I was no fool. I knew what Kaiza had in mind when he asked for a meeting in the Bush wick neighborhood. He was planning to set up an ambush.
"You have a death wish." Vince, my assistant, glared at me, "I won't save your ass this time, I'll just run."
"Let's see who's saving each other's asses today." I muttered.
"I've spoken with the technical unit, the code has been changed." Vince informed me.
"Say somethinggg." He groaned, "You ungrateful, arrogant bastard."
The idiot was giving me a headache. I should have just locked him in the warehouse and I wouldn't have to experience this height of nuisance.
We soon got to the dilapidated building in the Bush wick neighborhood where Kaiza suggested we should meet. All in all, things weren't going to end well without a fight.
The deal was meant to be a simple one, but Kaiza had decided to act smart by involving the mafia in it.
On the outside, the building looked dilapidated and most people steered clear from it. But on the inside, there was a man-made portal through which one can get to a large conference room.
That's where most of the shady businesses take place. I had no business coming here even though business got shady sometimes, but some things needed to be cleared.
"Should I blow the building?" Vince had an excited, crazed look.
These type of thing excites him.
"No, we'll have the meeting." I said coldly.
"Tch, what was I expecting? You've always been a killjoy." He hissed.
I ignored him, making my way into the dilapidated building. On the second floor, I saw the portal and entered it.
"Hey! Wait!" I heard Vince.
On getting into the portal, no one was there. I guess the game has begun. Vincent landed into the portal with a thud.
"I thought as much." Vince whistled, as he walked towards the arranged tables, "Look! The main reason we are here is just here."
He raised up a small metal tablet, containing the code to the slush fund. The slush fund was responsible for all these. It was the main reason Kaiza came to negotiate a deal in the first place.
The slush funds originally belonged to me, my company. But somehow, Kaiza got his hands on it and came to me for a deal, pretending it was his.
"Let's leave." Vince knowingly picked up the tablet, and we made to leave the portal when shurikens flew from nowhere, towards us.
We dodged, and the shurikens flew straight into the portal. I heard a gasp, and two men fell straight into the portal, dead with the shurikens in their hearts. They were Kaiza's men and he had killed them.
"What a pity, two lives wasted in a span of a few seconds. Look at them, they look like they have potential." Vince shook his head in pretense sympathy.
"It's funny that you both think you would leave here alive." I heard a chuckle, as a part of the wall opened and Kaiza stepped out.
He looked quite different, and the aura around him was much different and fiercer than the last time. His head was bald, and there was some black arrow on his head just like the Avatar's own.
Plus his dressing was off. He was shirtless, and wore baggy trousers with weird looking shoes. It seemed someone paid a visit to China.
"If it isn't the modern day Avatar. Fuck! This is hilarious!" Vince burst out laughing.
That was Vince for you, laughing in a serious situation.
"Oh, man. You look li-"
Kaiza was no longer at his spot again. The wall shook, and then next thing I saw was Vince slammed into the wall, breaking it.
Blood cascaded down his face as he fell to the ground, motionless. I sighed, the foolish boy.
"Guess he wasn't so strong after all." Kaiza chuckled as he walked towards me with some files and a pen.
"Sign it." He urged.
"But he didn't lie. It's quite pathetic to think you went to China because of a slush fund." I clicked my tongue.
"The slush fund is worth it." He grinned.
I picked up the files, it was a contract that needed my signature that insinuated Kaiza owned all the slush fund.
"And I'm sure you don't want him to die, no matter how cold and nonchalant you act. Mr Billionaire." He chuckled.
Now that was cringe.
I accepted the pen, and signed on each file while Kaiza looked at me suspiciously.
"It wasn't supposed to be this easy." He frowned, "Don't tell me I-"
"Save your spit for another day." I picked Vince up on my shoulders and left the portal.
"Now." I muttered.
Vince leapt up from my shoulders, and rolled the gas into the portal. Then we left the building, followed by crashing sounds as the building burned to the ground.
"That was fun." Vince grinned, wiping the blood off his nose.
As we walked, I noticed most of the houses here were either small bungalows, or tiny duplexes. We walked past a house where I heard screams of someone in pain, a woman to be precise, followed by laughter from probably a group of men.
I walked past the house, but when I turned to my right, Vince wasn't there. For absolutely no reason, I felt my legs move towards the bungalow.
It was like I had no control of myself as I kicked the door open. The scene I met, gave me a headache. An old woman was tied to a chair, and was badly beaten obviously by the men that surrounded the room, about four.
Then at her feet was a young one, whose blouse was torn and she bleeded from the head. She was in pain.
"Who the fuck are you?" One of the men growled.
Then a thud made the whole place silent. The sound was from the fireplace. It was Vince. He had crept up the roof of the bungalow, and passed in through the chimney.
One charged at me, and I threw him to the side with a punch. The young woman was losing a lot of blood, so I picked her up. Then I noticed a young boy who stood beside the old woman, and I immediately understood.
"Untie her and follow me." I commanded.
Then I faced Vince, "Kill them all."
