Chapter 1 Let's Call Off the Wedding

In the luxurious dressing room of the wedding shop, a woman stood in front of the mirror wearing a white wedding dress. Her skin was as white as snow, her long, beautiful eyelashes resembling butterfly wings, and her red lips as vibrant as a rose.

This woman was Renea Morris, the adopted daughter of the Morris family.

"Miss Morris, you look very beautiful in this wedding gown," the shop assistant beside Renea said, her voice full of admiration.

"Thank you," Renea replied softly, meeting the assistant's gaze through the mirror.

Renea stared at her reflection and took a deep breath. Tomorrow was the day she had been waiting for all these years. Tomorrow, she was going to marry Jasper Thomas, the man she had loved for as long as she could remember.

At this moment, she should have been feeling happy, nervous, or even excited...

However, unease stirred in her chest.

Something didn't feel right, though she couldn't pinpoint why.

As Renea was lost in her thoughts, the curtain of the dressing room was suddenly thrown open by someone. Then a man in a white suit stormed in like a gust of wind. It was Jasper.

Before Renea could react or comprehend what was happening, Jasper grabbed her by the neck and pinned her against the wall.

Everyone in the shop was shocked by Jasper's sudden actions and screamed in fear. They took a step back and looked terrified.

Renea's face turned crimson from the lack of oxygen as she struggled against his grasp, but Jasper didn't loosen his hold. His cold, furious eyes bore into hers as he demanded, "Renea Morris, do you know what you've done wrong?"

Renea tried to shake her head, as she didn't know what was going on. However, Jasper had held her neck so tightly that she was not able to move...

"Don't play innocent with me, you bitch!" Jasper spat, his voice dripping with venom. He tightened his grip further before pulling his phone from his pocket with his other hand. He shoved it in front of her face and pressed play.

As soon as the video started playing, Renea's face turned pale as a sheet of paper... "Faster... Ah! I can't take it anymore... Faster!"

The whole dressing room was filled with blush-inducing moans, making the atmosphere awkward. In the video, the woman was naked and she was entwined with the man on the bed.

However, what was even more shocking, was that the woman in the video was, Renea Morris, however, the man in the video was not Jasper.

The man in the video looks tall and has a well-maintained body. However, the face of the man was not visible, and only birthmark-like butterfly wings were visible on his shoulder blade.

Renea looked at the video with a stunned face. She knew that the video was real and was not synthesized.

The memories of that fateful night flooded her mind like fragments of a broken film reel.

That night, Renea had gone to a bar for her bachelorette party with her stepsister, Kailey. The party had been Kailey's idea. She said that it was a party to to bid farewell to singlehood and welcome her new life.

But it turned into a nightmare.

Renea only remembered drinking with Kailey, laughing and chatting, until she began to feel lightheaded and an unnatural heat spread through her body.

Kailey had led her to a private room, telling her to rest. After that, everything went blank.

The next morning, Renea woke up alone in bed, her body aching in ways that told her what had happened. But no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't recall anything beyond that dizzying haze.

She didn't even know who was the man with whom she slept with.

The other people in the room looked at Renea with eyes full of disdain and the murmurs of them filled the room.

"What a disgrace! How can she cheat on her fiancé right before her wedding?"

"What else you can expect from a woman like her. She is just a fake rich daughter pretended to be elegant and graceful. Deep down in her heart she was not much better than a slut!"

Their scornful words reached Renea's ears, but she barely heard them. All she cared about was Jasper. The more important thing for now was to explain everything to Jasper.

"Jasper, it's not what you think! Let me explain!" Renea pleaded, using all her strength to wrestle the phone from his hand.

But Jasper didn't give her the chance. He pocketed the phone and sneered. "Explain? It's too late, Renea. The video is already all over the internet. Everyone around the world knows what kind of person you are now!"

Jasper looked at Renea with his eyes full of disgust, as he said, "Let's call of the wedding. I can't marry a woman like you."

With those words, Jasper pushed her away forcefully and stormed out of the shop.

The shove sent Renea crashing to the ground, her head hitting the corner of the dressing table. Blood trickled down her forehead.

However, Renea didn't care about the pain or blood on her forehead. The only thing running in her mind at this moment was...

She had to explain Jasper everything and she couldn't let him go like this...

Ignoring the throbbing pain in her body, Renea stood on shaky legs. She gathered her long heavy wedding dress and stumbled after Jasper...

"I can't lose him... I have to save our relationship," she whispered desperately to herself as she chased after him.
