Chapter 8 AUSTIN

AUSTIN'S POV

I had watched Adrian walk away after punching his friend and I still couldn't get over the shock even after minutes that he left us. I watched him disappear from our sight and I looked at Knight, Kun, Tine, and Kelvin but everyone was just as shocked as me. "Why did he punch me for this one?" Kun asked as he glared at me with questions in his eyes.

"I guess..." Knight mumbled and looked at me but he immediately turned to look at Kun. "I think I know the reason. "Was it you who rescued him from those bad men? You helped him there, right?" He asked me but I just stared at him without giving any reply. Though I was curious to know why Adrian did that, I had no reason to reply Knight who I hated as much as I hated Kun. They were all Adrian's friends which made me hate them too but not as much as I hated Adrian. He realized I wouldn't be replying to him and he clapped his hands~ Did my silence give him the reply he wanted?

"Yes! I knew it. That was Adrian being grateful. He is grateful that Austin saved him and he wasn't okay with the fact that you wanted to fight him instead of thanking him. That was the grateful side of Adrian~" He said as if he was staring at a fact and my eyes widened. He seemed to have said the right thing but then, He did not know Adrian as much as I did. I knew Adrian would never do something like that because he was grateful to me.

If he was that much of a grateful person, he wouldn't have killed my father back then despite everything I did for him then. I did a lot for him then but he repaid me by making me fatherless. I scoffed and turned to leave "Shall we go?" I asked my friends who nodded, still in shock and we left for my home. A car was already waiting for me by the time I got to the junction so I entered and my friends entered too. "With this, does that mean your mum is around?" Kelvin asked and I shook my head. "I don't think so. She must have visited for a business and branch at my place." I replied and they nodded.

My mum would visit my school area from time to time for business and would visit my mansion to say hi and I was sure it wouldn't be any different this time around. She left our mansion the day my father died and since then, I've been the only one living there with the workers while she lived in another mansion in another country. I knew it must have been hard for her to live without her husband which was why I never asked her to return to me even though I felt so lonely and sad. "Madam brought some things for you. She also prepared some side dishes." My driver said and I nodded.

That was my mother. She would never visit without bringing side dishes even though I had a lot of professional cooks at home that cooked for me every day. We got home in no time and my friends led me in. I was already very tired and the cuts on my body seemed to be bleeding more as I felt pain almost all over my body. I grunted as I sat on the ground the moment we entered my room.

Some maids rushed in, they must have noticed the blood on me the moment I entered. They attended to the wounds on my body and I had a bath after which calmed my mind a little. With the cuts on me, Kelvin and Tine had to cancel their plan of drinking so we turned on the TV, played some games, and went to bed.

I was the first to wake up the next morning and I took my bath before I woke Kelvin and Tine. "It's morning," I said to them. "So soon?" Kelvin asked and I nodded. "Let's go take a bath then," Tine said and dragged Kelvin to the bathroom. I waited in my room while they had a bath and returned to join me. "It took you so long to dress." I mocked them and picked up my bag. I was about to leave the room when I heard a knock on the door. "Who's there?" I asked.

"It's me, Young Master. Breakfast is ready." One of the maids said and I groaned. I had totally forgotten that I hadn't eaten anything. I didn't even eat yesterday before going to bed because I felt so weak that I had to just sleep immediately after I was done playing games with my friends. "Okay. We will be downstairs soon." I said to the maid and turned to Kelvin and Tine. "Guys, it's time to eat. Did you eat last night?" I asked them.

"Yes. We went to eat after you slept. We couldn't sleep with hunger, you know." Tine replied and winked at me. I chuckled and threw a handkerchief to them before leaving them in the room but not without telling them to meet me at the dining soon. We all ate our breakfast and got to school earlier than usual but I was okay with it. "We are early today, wow!" Tine was the first to cheer and Kelvin joined in. I was about to caution them when I felt a hard gaze on me and I turned my head only to see Adrian staring at me. "This... when does he learn to come early to school?" I asked out loud, alerting Kelvin and Tine who were whispering some things to themselves.

"What? Adrian is around?" Kelvin asked with shock in his voice and that was when I realized I was staring at him. I looked away, did my backpack well, and entered the class. I had no business with him and I had no reason to stand there staring at him either.

I watched him enter the class with his friends but what was surprising was that he walked away from his friends and walked toward me. "Austin." He called and I raised my eyes to look at him. "What do you want?" I asked coldly. Seeing him in front of me made me curious but it made me angry too. What the heck does he want with me?!

"Can I sit with you?" He asked but I knew I had heard wrong because Adrian would never ask such a silly question. Like... why the hell would he ask me that?
