Chapter 5 Threats

"What do you want us to do, Mr. Hill?" The person on the other end asked again.

Edwin threw a glance at the seething Lisa whose fist was clenched tightly. He knew what he was doing wasn't the right thing but it was for his son's good. He had watched his son's condition worsening everyday without the presence of his illusional mother.

"I want him..."

Just as he was about to give orders, the phone was snatched from his ears. He looked at Lisa who was filled with rage and... teary eyed.

"What do you think you are doing?" He asked, glaring at her.

"Are you that heartless? Why would you want to destroy my brother's life for your selfish purposes?" Lisa asked, tears flowing freely on her cheek.

"Heartless? I can say that about you too! I have to watch my son deteriorate because he thinks you are his mother! Do you think I want to marry you in the first place?" He mocked, in anger.

" That doesn't justify the fact that you are forcing me to get married to you! I will not! And I will get my brother out of prison with or without your help! I think I made a big mistake coming here in the first place," Lisa refused, this time she was determined to leave.

Edwin bit his lower lip so hard to hold back his anger and frustration. He wondered why she was refusing to marry him. Did she know that there are so many women flocking around just to be called Mrs. Hill?

Damnit! If not for his son, he wouldn't be caught with someone like her!

As he was in deep thoughts on what next, he heard a slight bang from the door. He looked up to see that Lisa had left the room.

"Did she just leave?" He asked no one in particular.

It looked like she was daring him. He sighed as he picked up his phone to put a call across a physiotherapist in the UK that was very good at his job. Perhaps there might be a solution to this fantasy world of his son.

After two rings, the person on the other end picked the call.

"Doctor Mark, I need a favor from you," Edwin said, explaining everything for the doctor.

The doctor listened with rapt attention to his explanations. At the end of their discussion, the doctor sighed before replying.

"It would be fine to hire a therapist for him but he might not respond to the treatment and his case would worsen. My suggestion is to bring the lady in question to him. Perhaps, he would regain his memories in less than three months," Doctor Mark replied.

" Is there any chance of him recovering during the therapist sessions?" Edwin asked, not willing to beg Lisa again.

" The chances are 0.01 percent. But with the lady's presence, he would recover very fast. I think it's best if you can convince..."

" No need. I want you in my house in the next hour to check on him," Edwin said, cutting the call.

He sat down on the couch, placing his hands on his head. He could feel the migraine coming in full force. He rang one of the maids to bring him his medication.

Barely two minutes, the maid came rushing in with the medication. He swallowed it and was just about to rest his head when he heard a loud shattering sound.

He clenched his fist tightly to hold back his anger. He knew that Zach had woken up and was throwing his tantrums again.

" Why on earth would she reject my proposal?" Edwin mused within himself, standing up to attend to his son.

As he was getting closer to the living room, he heard Zach's voice as he destroy things in the living room.

" I want my momma! Get me my momma!" He cried, still smashing things on the ground.

All the servants were looking petrified. How were they going to stop the little master from destroying things.

"Zach!!!" Edwin bellowed, drawing the attention of his son.

Zach looked up with eyes filled with accusations and underlying guilt. He was breathing heavily as he held a silverware ready to be smashed by his anger.

But it didn't take another second more before he smashed the silver ware to the ground. He glared at his father before running off to his room to lock himself up.

"Come back here, Zach!" Edwin raged, walking towards the direction of Zach's room.

"I hate you! I don't want you! I want my momma!" Zach screamed, looking back as Edwin draw closer.

"She is not your mother!" Edwin said in frustration.

"You are lying! She is my momma and you drove her away! You make momma leave me! I hate you!" Zach threw the words at him before running to the entrance of his room.

But just as he was about to close the door, he slumped to the ground. He just fainted due to exhaustion.

Edwin who was furious at him for throwing tantrums began to panick. He never expected Zack to be so attached to Lisa.

"Call the doctor right now!" He shouted at the butler.

The butler immediately placed a call to the hospital while Edwin lifted his son to the room. He placed him on his bed and saw how his son had turned extremely pale and lanky these past few days.

His mind was torn between his son and what he had to do to save him. He wondered why Lisa was so adamant.

"Don't worry, son. I will do all I can to bring your momma to you," he said, caressing his son's hair.

He needed to act fast or else he might end up losing his son. With that thought in mind, he brought out his phone and dial a number.

"Follow my instructions carefully and I want results in the next two hours" Edwin said as he instructed the person at the other end of the line.

Let's see if you can still refuse, he thought, his eyes filled with rage.
