Chapter 6 Meeting

Katherine checked her phone for messages while waiting for Tristan. While waiting for Tristan, she made plans to meet one of her closest friends Alex at a nearby place for lunch.

It seemed like forever since she has been waiting and upon hearing voices she sat up straight while browsing her phone.

Hearing the sound of the meeting room opening, Katherine looked up and saw three people coming out of the room. Tristan, Nick, and Joey appeared in front of her. They all looked handsome and had a charming aura. It seemed as if they stepped out of some fashion magazine.

While Katherine was in her thoughts, the three men shifted their gazes at her.

"Ms. Morris.", Nick was the first to greet her.

Nick and Joey was Tristan's best friend. They have never truly accepted Katherine as the wife of their friend.

They say through a friend's attitude one can tell whether the man holds any kind of affection towards you. It seems to be right. The way Nick addressed Katherine was not only polite but also distant and it was enough to prove what Tristan really feels toward her.

Nodding at Nick, Katherine replied with a forced smile, "Mr. Thatcher." and turned to Tristan, "Mr. Flynn, I was told you wanted to see me. Is there anything I can help you with?"

Tristan only frowned and remained silent. However, Joey, on the other hand, began to stir trouble and he was not as polite as Nick.

"Is this how you talk to your Boss? Just because he is your husband does not mean you can slack off work and talk to him so arrogantly."

Hearing his unnecessarily harsh words, Katherine glanced at Tristan, who was standing behind Joey. He was standing there silently without any expression on his face.

Katherine then rolled her eyes are Joey and said, "Director Adler, you sure are a nosy person who likes to meddle in other's affairs."

Nick and Eric at the side chuckled at Katherine's remark. They were amused at the scene which was unfolding in front of them but have no intention of stopping it.

"Katherine Morris, do not be so arrogant. What makes you think you can talk to me like that? It's only a matter of time before you are kicked out of Flynn Group."

"I can not wait for that day." Katherine retorted immediately in a low voice and regretted the moment she said these words.

Joey never had anything nice to say to her anyway. He always thought she is the reason why Tristan and Ellie could not be together. However, what he said was somewhat true. After the inevitable divorce, she is likely to be kicked out of the company as well.

Sensing Tristan's grim look, Nick cut the man off sternly, "Joey, let's go. I have made a lunch reservation. So let's go and wait there. Tristan and Ms. Morris have some matters to discuss."

Then, he turned to Katherine and invited her to lunch, "Believe you have not had your lunch either, Ms. Moriss. Why not join you and Tristan join us after your meeting?"

Saying so, Nick dragged Joey along with him, leaving Katherine speechless.

"Let's talk in my office."

Finally, Tristan spoke up and walked into his office.

Katherine followed him to his office.
