Chapter 8 A Fight Between Mafias

Lily blinked twice in a bid to ascertain if her current vision was real and yes it was! The big bad Vice Chairman that is currently pointing a gun at her is either her mystery guy or has exactly the same face as her mystery guy!

Leonardo dropped the gun on the floor

"Though you escaped death today, I do not want to ever see you again in my company" he said and walked away while his securities trooped after him

"What?!" Lily's mind was still trying to get a hold and understand the current situation

"Am.....am I fired?" she stuttered

"Wait here" Jason said and he ran after Leonardo DiCaprio

Jason walked into Leonardo's office and he looked up

"You can't fire her Leonardo" Jason said and Leonardo dropped the file he was reading

"And why can't I? Last time I checked, I am the one in charge of the company not you" Leonardo stated

"Agreed and as the heir to the Mafia Empire, you must always abide by the Mafia codes" Jason reminded

"I do not believe I have broken any code yet Jason" Leonardo said

"A Mafia must always have his fellow Mafia's back, that lady is my friend Leonardo and I offered her a job here, you sacking her like that is breaking the Mafia code" Jason stated

"Let me remind you of another Mafia code too, a Mafia must always obey his boss, I am your boss Jason and you must willingly adhere to all of my commands!" Leonardo yelled

Meanwhile, Lily stood still as the employees walked past her and went along doing there daily stuff

She was almost shot on her first day at work and was she just fired too?

No, he can't fire her, she has a debt to pay

......"....that empire is not for the weak-hearted so you'll have to up your games if you are going to work there..." Lily remembered Anna's advice

The big bad Vice Chairman can't fire her, she needs this job

This is not the time be a scared little girl Lily, like Anna said, if you want to continue working here, you'll have to up your games

Lily took a deep breath

"I can do this" she muttered as she began to walk towards the big bad Vice Chairman's office

"I'm afraid you can't go in there" the securities said stopping Lily

"Just for a moment, I just need to have a word with the big bad..... I mean the Vice Chairman" Lily pleaded but the securities remained adamant

Jason suddenly walked out of the office and was surprised to see Lily struggling with securities

"What are you doing Lily?" he asked as he quickly walked up to her

"I need to speak with the big bad Vice Chairman" Lily said

"The big what?"

"I mean Mr Leonardo DiCaprio, he can't just fire me like that, I must speak with him" Lily said to Jason

"Speaking with him won't work Lily" Jason stated

"I still have to try" Lily said and Jason motioned for the securities to make way and they both walked into Leonardo's office

Leonardo looked up as Jason entered his office again, this time with Lily

"Why are you coming into my office with the lady I just told never to show her face in front of me?" he enquired

"She has something to say, at least listen to her please" Jason pleaded and he sighed

"Fine" he muttered motioning for Lily to start speaking

Lily was taken aback on seeing the big bad Vice Chairman's face again, could he really be the stranger she had a one night with? No that can't be, her mysterious guy didn't have such a crappy personality like the big bad Vice Chairman

Her eyes slowly darted round the office and she noticed the different species of guns hanged on the wall

Be careful Lily, one wrong word from you and one of those guns could be used to end your life

"Lily" Jason tapped Lily jerking her from her thoughts

"Oh I'm.... I'm sorry" Lily said quickly and then she looked at the big bad Vice Chairman

Do not give a damn about what his face looks like or the guns, just focus!!

"My...my name is Lily Martini, I'm an artist and ummm.... I was just employed as a designer in the company, today's supposed to be my first day at work but I messed up, this is actually my first time working in a Mafia Empire so I had no idea how things were done around here but I am very sorry Sir, please do not fire me Sir I really need this job, I'm in debt and I need this job to pay it off Sir, please" Lily pleaded

"Did you not tell your friend here Jason? Pathetic words and acting all pitiful do not work on me so tell her to stop acting like she has all the problems in the world" Leonardo said

"Sir...."

The door suddenly barged open and a man walked in struggling with the securities

"What the hell is going on here?!" Leonardo asked

"I'm sorry for barging into your office Sir but I really needed to meet you urgently, I am one of the workers at the new Casino, the place has just been set ablaze Sir, Armando came with his men and set the place on fire" the man reported

"What?!!" Leonardo exclaimed as he sprang up

"So the new Casino is on fire?" Leonardo asked and the man nodded

"And what were you doing when the Casino was being burnt down?" Leonardo enquired

"I.... I had to escape Sir, I had to bring you the news" the man replied

"And did you not think I'll have preferred you died saving my Casino than bringing me a bad news?!!" Leonardo yelled as he opened his drawer and grabbed his gun

"Sir.... Sir please Sir, I'm sorry Sir, if I had remained there I'll have died along the other workers" the man pleaded

"A true Mafia fights to death with his comrades and you've proven yourself to be undeserving of the Mafia tittle" Leonardo said as he shot the man on his leg and he shrieked and sprawled on the floor

"Come with me Jason, Armando and his men must pay for this with their lives" Leonardo said as he grabbed the riffle that was hung on the wall

"What....what should I do?" Lily stuttered

"Do whatever you want to do, stay, leave or hang yourself, I absolutely do not care, you are the least of my concerns at this moment" Leonardo said and walked out

"He means you can stay" Jason smiled and followed Leonardo out

Lily didn't know wether to jump up with joy for retaining her job or to scream at the horror she just witnessed and the fact that she'll be witnessing it more often

The big bad Vice Chairman just shot someone right in front of her!!

A hand suddenly grabbed Lily's leg and she flinched

It was the man whom Leonardo DiCaprio had shot in the leg

"Save me" he pleaded weakly

"Save me"

Lily was confused on what to do but she definitely knew calling 911 was out of the option

"One minute" she said as she ran out to meet the few securities remaining outside

"The man inside is still bleeding profusely, you should take him to a hospital or something" Lily pleaded and the securities went inside to get the man

Lily sighed as she found a place to sit

What an iconic first day at work, she's definitely quiting this place immediately she finish paying off her debt, she just hopes she's able to survive till then

"Hey" someone said tapping her and she looked up to see Gabriel, Anna's boyfriend

"Hey Gabriel" she managed to muster up a smile

"I know it's a bit late, but congratulations on getting a job here" Gabriel congratulated

"I do not believe that it is something to be congratulated for considering what I just experienced" Lily uttered

"When coming in, I heard some stuff about a new employee almost being shot by the Vice Chairman, that can't be you right?" Gabriel asked

"Unfortunately it is" Lily said

"I'm so sorry for what you went through Lily" Gabriel glanced at his watch

"I really have to go now Lily I'm sorry, Jason assigned some work to me but am yet to complete it so...."

"Don't worry, go ahead, don't mind me" Lily said trying to bring up a smile

"We'll talk some other time" Gabriel said as he walked off and Lily nodded

"Leonardo DiCaprio" Lily muttered the Vice Chairman's name

The mystery guy she had a one night stand also said his name was Leonardo

Could it be just a big coincidence that they have the same name and face? Or did she actually have a one night stand with the big bad Vice Chairman who's pretending not to know her?

Leonardo DiCaprio drove the car himself to the Armando Mansion while his securities followed in their black SUVs from behind

"Slow down Leonardo, or you'll get us killed before we even have a chance of paying the Armandos back" Jason said but Leonardo ignored him

Jason knew Leonardo was furious right now, the Armandos is another Mafia group, one that has always seen DiCaprio Mafia Empire as a competitor but they crossed the line today, they shouldn't have burnt the company's newly built Casino

Leonardo pulled over in front of the Armandos Mansion and stepped down with his gun and riffle on each hand

Jason grabbed a gun and stepped out too, so did the securities that escorted them

The securities at the Armandos Mansion tried to stop them from entering but they were all shot dead by Leonardo's men

Jason and Leonardo walked into to meet the Mafia boss, Armando himself

"You coming here like this, what's the occasion Leonardo DiCaprio?" Armando asked

"You set our Casino on fire, I'm sure you must have expected a retaliation" Jason stated

"Oh about that, the land which the Casino was built in was originally mine, so I do not think it should matter to you whatever I decide to do with my property" Armando smiled

"That land was never yours, it belonged to one of your underlings whom you neglected and he took a loan from us using the land as a mortgage, as he was unable to pay, though I heard you ended his life, so we took the land" Jason explained and Leonardo cocked his riffle pointing it at Armando

"You plan on killing me?" Armando laughed

"I'm the Mafia boss here Leonardo DiCaprio and you cannot kill me, not unless you want everyone in my family to be out for your head"

"Maybe you haven't heard but I am Leonardo DiCaprio and I always eliminate those that comes against me, regardless of the consequence" Leonardo said as he pulled the rifle's trigger blowing Armando's brain out

"Bullshit" he spatted and walked out while Jason followed him from behind

They got back into the car and this time, Jason drove

Leonardo brought a cigar stick and lighted it in the car

"You do know Armando's men are gonna be coming after you right?" Jason enquired

"Then let them come, I am scared of no one, least of all Armando's dogs" Leonardo stated

"Make sure to get the ownership papers of Armando's Mansion, we are confiscating it" Leonardo said

"I'll do that" Jason nodded and drove in silence for some moments before finally speaking again

"Thank you" he said

"For?" Leonardo enquired

"Letting Lily stay in the company" Jason said

Leonardo puffed out the cigar smoke out of his mouth

Lily Martini, the lady he prayed to never meet again yet hoped his prayer will go unanswered

That night was a moment of weakness, he was caught off guard and a Mafia should never be weak, a Mafia should never be caught off guard

Forget it Leonardo, that night, it never happened.......
